us is the fact that he had the intent to try to get perizi jammed up on more charges. >> one possible reason he was targeting him is because he spray painted his own trailer in 2015. we first told but this case back in april. 24-year-old stewart butler is accused of beating up two gay men he saw kissing on a street corner. butler has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor battery. possible hate crime charges could come down in a month now. it could cost more to drive through treasure island. the roadway has been toll free since 2007 but the cost of maintenance and repairing it is too expensive without a dedicated funding source. the idea is a long way off. the proposal must be presented

before the city can actually move forward. there's more fire power tonight in the fight to keep noaa's hurricane hunters in the bay area. sending noaa a joint letter saying they expect the critical aircraft to stay in florida and the employees should have an impact where they go. the hurricane hunters and specialized aircraft are being evicted next year. noaa is looking for another place for the fleet. the launch has been pushed back to friday. it is due to high altitude wind sheer which hits like a sledge hammer. this was the fourth attempt to launch in the past week. now the most accurate weather team in florida, abc action weather. >> it's probably going to be

being disciplined and claims that the tape was stretchable. you may remember daytona beach police dealt with a case like this late last year, a story that went viral. and run. police captured a man that ran over a 8-year-old boy. that boy says thomas smiled and winked at him before he drove off. according to the incident report, the 73-year-old told police that he remembered hearing a bang but insisted he never hit the child. police tracked him down because neighbors were able to get his license plate number. sex. starting today, select businesses in pinellas county will have to display posters showing the signs of human trafficking. lauren rozyla joins us live to explain there are very few places for victims to go once lauren.

all of the nail salons in pinellas county like this one are displaying these posters. you can see the help number for victims. survivors say this is a great thing but they're concerned because they say the shelters for the victims are running out. edie ray has lived through the unimaginable. trafficked by her mother's boyfriend from the age of 10. she was sold for sex for most of her childhood. >> i tried to portray that normal lifestyle. you're a normal kid. but inside, i was dying. >> reporter: she spent most of her adult life advocating for survivors through her church's ministry where many victims have been brain washed by the traffickers. >> they feel like they're loved and adored. and they're not. >> reporter: while florida is third in the nation for human trafficking cases, she says there are only a dozen beds available for survivors who escape.

there's no other place for them to go. but now edie is working to raise money to open her own shelter. >> just seeing a little bit of hope and trusting, they can fly. >> reporter: she is drafting plans that will house up to ten girls. she needs a home with several bedrooms and hopefully a couple of acres so the girls can walk freely. they will have therapy, job counseling, life coaching and more. >> it's healing when you talk about it. but also it gives other ladies hope. >> reporter: as she nears her goal, she is hoping to open the shelter in the next eight months. she says it can't start soon enough because the needs of the survivors simply can't wait. and there is a big fundraiser to raise money for the building of this shelter this saturday at the mosie museum. if you want more information to help, just visit

>> it happens for an hour or two which is why we put weight into hurricane preparedness. we have a few months from that. now we're enjoying the best time of the year weather-wise. as we had today, there from the apollo. skies have been mostly clear. temperatures have been warm. things have been dry. although that will try to change a bit tomorrow morning. sprinkles across the northern county. we pit 81 today in lakeland. sarasota 75. you can see right along the coast, temperatures about 5 or 6 degrees cooler. and that's that cooler water of the gulf impacting them. they're in the 60s right now down to sarasota and largo. and still mid-70s from downtown and over to polk county as well. outside right now, tampa, 72 degrees. the wind is out of the west at 7 miles per hour. as i said, we hit 77 today.

normals are 74 and 56. st. pete, sunny and 72. west winds, that's your sea breeze. and sarasota, sunny and 69. south/southwest winds at 7 miles per hour. so a beautiful day today. and over the next ten days, even though we have two fronts we will be talking about, the weather should be great. maybe a little better chance of a few showers on friday. there it is. that's the satellite today. if we look at futurecast through tomorrow morning, skies are partly cloudy. then there is your front. it doesn't look that impressive. it's not. most of the energy and the moisture is way off to the north. you may pick up a couple of sprinkles tomorrow. it's gone by the afternoon. not nearly as chilly behind this front. we will stay in the 70s at least if not the 80s by early next week. thursday night into friday, we have another front coming in.
