as th are approving a fix to the state's death penalty system. that it will require at least 10 out of 11 jurors to recommend the death penalty in order for it to be carried out. lawmakers were forced to rewrite that law after the u.s. supreme court declared it unconstitutional in january.

been on hold since then. and we now know when that accused killer will go on trial for the death of her daughter, setting the november 28 start date for the trial of thomas who is accused of abusing and killing her 11-year-old daughter. the girl's body was found in the locked freezer back in october. and if convicted, she'll spend the rest of her life in prison. prosecutors have already said that they will not seek the death penalty. >> now the most accurate team in florida and abc action weather. good evening everybody, we've got some rain just offshore. the rate in which they are

a terrifying dispute caught on camera in chicago. the driver parked in the bike lane, being forced to run for their life.

wearing the gopro camera during the entire ordeal. you're in the bike lane. just seconds later that you can see that they were being chased down the block. the driver then gets out and attacks them punching them and kicking him in the face. >> i didn't know when he would stop. my face is still a little numb. >> he was left with that bloody eye and that they are trying to track down the driver. the car is registered to the woman as that may complicate their investigation. the traffic stop turning into a dangerously close call for the deputy back in new mexico as they pulled over when they discovered that he has a warrant out for his arrest.

video that one deputy jumps into the driver's door as the car speeds away. you'll see it in a minute. he drove about 500 feet before being stopped. then finally taken into -- into custody. >> the florida lawmakers are giving their final approval of the bill today and now they need governor rick scott's signature. if he does sign it, then the law will take effect on july 1. you can have a lot less time to save. the key senate panel today, approving a bill that would cut the state's sales tax from $10 to just $3 as they will also cut back on how much you could save. it won't cover computers, only applying to close $60 and under instead of $100 and under. some good news tonight for everyone who is looking for a job. costco is raising their entry

the highest paid employees make $22.50 an hour. last summer's devastating floods took a toll. tonight abc action news reporter shows us how one group and a lot of elbow greece -- grease is bringing back hope to so many there. >> reporter: deborah stacy is finding rhythm in her life once again. >> you couldn't see our grounds or anything as it looked like little houses floating in the water. >> reporter: floods last summer put her love for dancing on hold. changing her life and hundreds of others. >> all these beautiful wonderful volunteers that you wouldn't believe. i nearly lost hope. >> reporter: until a group rebuilds together and arrived.

here is that there will not be much to it. if you are an early riser, yes, that you may see a few showers. lucky you and the weather should actually be improving quite a bit by 7:00 to 8:00. partly cloudy skies in tampa at 64 degrees. today about where we should be for this time of the year mid- 70s in the afternoon and at night. we will see a big warm up. we will touch on that in just a minute. but 90 degrees just off to the south and off to the east is a possibility next thursday. the clouds throughout the day are getting thicker and there

by about 2:00 to 3:00 a.m. the first line. up towards gainesville that it will be a decent amount of rain. so 6:00 to 6:30, sure, still a light snow showers. pretty much gone. most areas are sunny. and then that sunshine will continue. and not just saturday and sunday, but a good deal of sunshine right through next week. and that when you get that easterly wind this time of the year every now and then that some of the cloud cover could make it across the state. even a sprinkle or two. it will not be dry enough. once you get this out of the way the bigger changes.
