>> rosario joins us live in just a minute. first, as you heard a few minutes ago, today is the start of the spring break season, and thousands of college students, including my son, are on their way to florida right now. his plane takes off in about a half hour. no pressure, ivan. >> how's the forecast? >> when i was in school and spring break, they won't care about whether there is a shower, am i right? yeah, it will clear up for the weekend is your answer. just a quick round of showers and falling apart as we speak. in the next half hour, we'll be done with these as they continue to roll in money polk city getting wet, lakeland and a couplele of showers about to move through. these are light and fast moving so what that means is we're not going to have enough time to really get the roads too wet. then this line of showers and that's about it.

>> reporter: good morning, deiah. i'm outside of the strawberry festival which may remind people of a good time. for one family it is a reminder cold. david neel was on his way to meet his family when he was shot and killed and now new detectives. that video was put together by crimestoppers of tampa bay and the hillsborough county sheriff's department with the hopes of someone coming forward with new leads. pictures showing his family, time. he was driving south with detectives say he was hit by a bullet but from someone in a that bullet going through the door hitting him in the left side of his chest, leaving his with many questions. she says he was on his way back to the festival to pick up cows when it happened. >> he had gone and taken the

operations greg rivers has turned in his resignation. rivers was part of an internal investigation about inappropriate behavior involving former superintendent catherine arory. rivers' resignation is effective on may 6. the district says he'll use his accrued paid leave and won't handle any official business during his paid leave. meanwhile, we're learning why a bradenton police officer is off the job this morning. his bosses say when he responded to a domestic abuse call instead of filing paperwork to help the woman in the case, he ended up asking her out on a case. the officer resigned after learning internal affairs was investigating him. he responded to the victim's home in late december and started texting the victim asking her to dinner. investigators say he didn't file the paperwork about the woman's boyfriend's alleged harassment until 23 days later.

the marine corps estimates just 200 women a year will move into ground combat jobs. u.s. special operations here in florida anticipates only a small number of women will volunteer for its commando jobs. 75 women in tampa will become american citizens. the women take the oath of allegiance at 10:00 this morning. the special naturalization ceremony is in honor of national women's history month. they or rage nature from 26 different countries. 5:39. so far, everything is a go for this morning for space ex as the company attempts to launch a rocket from cape canaveral for the fifth time. strong winds, trouble loading fuel forced the company to scrub four previous launch attempts. the rock will try to land on a barge about 400 miles off the

5:44 now. a group of community activists are taking it upon themselves to start getting the thousands of lead pipes out of the ground in flint michigan. this as a mother files a lawsuit against government officials and businesses. lee ann walters filed suit yesterday and claims the firms hired to evaluate the water services were negligent and responsible for the high lead levels her children have been exposed to. so far, no representatives responded to the suit. attorneys representing walters

complaints on behalf of other parents. bringing hope to families who lost everything during last summer's horrific flooding. pasco rebuilds together is using donated materials and professional expertise to rebuild homes destroyed there. they are working with 48 homeowners and completed work on eight homes so far. the organization says they still need more money and volunteers to complete the work so people like deborah can start rebuilding their lives. >> all of these beautiful, wonderful volunteers. i nearly lost hope. if you want to donate, just go to abcactionnews.com and click on story links. >> we are constantly staying up to date. i'll tell you what, the event that happened last august is
