clearwater 13 degrees warmer. so that would put you at 63. where yesterday we were 50 degrees. most of us in the upper 50s now so cool, still jacket weather, upper 50s to low 60s in florida. we can't take that -- can take that. but this afternoon we warm up with full sunshine and mid to upper 70s. if you spent enough time outside you noticed the last few weeks the sun really gets going because it's at a higher angle so it feels hotter. your car starts to get warmer if you leave the windows closed. that's what we have going here. we have the rain that will eventually move to our area. timing still iffy. let's check weather and traffic together with janelle. pretty busy morning so far. corey dierdorff is heading to a very serious crash in pinellas county, pinellas park. u.s. 19 in the kenneth city area. traffic moving pretty good on u.s. 19 where he is but he's going to the crash where we're hearing there are multiple

it's happening at u.s. 19 and 49th street north. so has he gets there and has more details we will bring that to you. elsewhere we are still keeping an eye on this crash in manatee county in bradenton, cortez road at 14th street west. still hearing there's some roadblock in the northbound and eastbound lanes though my traffic indicators are in the green here. you can see a slight slowdown there because of police activity. elsewhere in the bay area the interstates looking pretty good. here we are at i-275 and fowler, seven minutes from here to downtown tampa. a commuter train derails in northern california. at least one car overturning into a nearby creek. it's 30 miles north of san jose. deputies say a downed tree fell on the tracks during heavy rain causing the train to jump the tracks. nine people were hurt, four seriously.

it difficult for rescuers to pull riders from -- to safety from the partially submerged rail car. >> we're using the helicopters, we're using people on foot, we're just making sure there's nobody else around or left on the rail or anything like that. >> the train was traveling from san jose to stockton when it crashed. train service on the line will be shut down today as the ntsb starts its investigation. meanwhile south korea punishing its neighbor to the north in the wake of north korea's latest nuclear threats. south korea saying it's sanctioning dozens of people and groups in response to the north's warning that it would unleash a pre-emptive strike of justice against the u.s. and south korea. right now we're following up on two shootings that happened within minutes of each other in tampa. we start in south tampa where police are investigating whether two separate scenes are connected to a murder. officers say an ongoing dispute turned violent when someone

bay apartments on lois avenue. police say they later found a body next to a car about three miles away. it's still very early in this investigation right now, they say they are still interviewing witnesses but believe the victim was trying to drive and get help but died before he could get to a hospital. they also tell us another person was hurt. meanwhile hillsborough deputies say they have a suspect in custody now after another double shooting at an apartment complex. we're told someone shot those men during a drug transaction at the beacon isles apartments. deputies say they found marijuana, a scale and drug paraphernalia after catching the suspected shooter. new protection could be in place today in highlands county in the wake of a troubling steveer sex scandal -- teacher sex scandal. decide whether stacey hooks should be fired after deputies found evidence she had sex with middle school. authorities later found porn on her cell phone and upped her charges. school board members will also

rules on what to do when someone suspects child abuse or sexual activity. patients near the ends of tear lives could soon have a new option. we'll be watching to see if florida governor rick scott is going to sign a just passed medical marijuana bill into law. this bill would let terminally ill patients buy and use the drug but cancer patients, quadriplegics and certainly disabilities are still banned from using it. advocate and lawyer john morgan is calling out lawmakers on this. calling it typical tallahassee window dressing. in democracy 2016 -- florida senator marco rubio is hoping for at least one upset as four states go to the polls for the republican today. >> he may have the upper hand in mississippi thanks to a key endorsement from a republican national committee member there. but he and other candidates are focusing on florida with a make or break primary set for next week.

rubio with rallies this evening in sarasota and sanford. spoke to a crowd of supporters in tampa yesterday saying he's the best republican candidate to beat the democratic nominee. >> give us the best chance to beat hillary clinton, she knows that. that is why they attack me more than anyone else. >> donald trump will also be in the sunshine state today stumping in jupiter as his lead over rubio narrows. a new monmouth university poll shows the billionaire now just eight points ahead of senator rubio, 38% to 30%. speaking of trump, another billionaire who pulled the plug on a bid for the white house is taking aim at that gop frontrunner. the criticism he's leveling at trump coming up at 6:30. we just found out overnight that democrat bernie sanders and hillary clinton will be campaigning in tampa on the same day. sanders just announced a realliy at the florida state fairgrounds on thursday afternoon. the doors open at 4:00, tickets not required but it is first come first serve. abc action news is also going

clinton's event at the ritz ybor on east 7th avenue a few hours before the stand sanders rally. go to abcactionnews.com to reserve a spot. a lot of you were talking about this. a manatee county dog at the center of a social media campaign to save his life last year under investigation again. deputies say they are looking into claims that "patty the dog" bit another dog at a pet clinic in bradenton. this time around patty bit a 4 1/2-month-old service dog in training. that service dog is protected under the law. patty's owner could be charged with a misdemeanor but nothing is going to happen to batty patty. the hashtag freepatty trended last year after he was almost put down after biting a child over the summer but a ruling from the judge saved patty's life. yesterday we showed you this backup on the howard frankland bridge. troopers now saying a blown

6:10. california police say it's no mystery why a woman led officers on an intense chase while driving a mini van painted to look like that van from the scooby doo cartoon. >> officers say this real life mr. machine you see there reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour as the woman inside tried to run from a routine probation track. >> her probation officer injected humor into his 911 call. >> we're told the mystery machine blew through red lights and drove so recklessly officers had to call off the chase to keep others on the road safe. the woman behind the wheel still on the run.

breaking traffic alert from pinellas park. this is the northbound u.s. 19 ramp from southbound 49th street. we have a fatal accident. where one person is dead in a rolled over suv. on the exit ramp. we're going to stay with the wide shot now because of the operations going on. this will affect traffic in the area of 49th street if you're planning on going north on to u.s. 19, you have to find an alternate. expect this ramp to be shut down for several hours. this accident just happening about 15 minutes or so ago. you're still going to have that investigation with this fatal accident. it does appear to be a single truck that rolled over, an suv that rolled over on to the ramp, on to northbound u.s. 19 from southbound 49th street so expect some traffic troubles in the area.

work around this incident. how are the rest of the roads looking? in the bay area in pretty good shape. through downtown tampa 275 at ashley, up to speed in both directions, six minutes from here to the howard frankland bridge. your drive on i-4 looking great if you're starting off in lakeland, 22 minutes to get to downtown and down there at the bottom just eight minutes from 75 to 275. if you're heading to the veterans expressway now looking great, all in the green, 17 minutes from 54 to 275. let's check in on conditions now. still mild out there, in the low to mid-60s although everything is relative, right? milder than yesterday but still rather cool if you are sensitive. the rest of the tampa bay area in the mid and upper 50s. titan doppler radar pretty quiet. you can see this clear air here across the southeast. large and expansive area of high pressure, pretty strong one at that certainly for this

we'll hold off the rain well to days. what is going to happen is the high not going to move much but the southeasterly flow will keep us warm, mild temperature at night. warm in fact through the daytime hours. a little more moisture to work humidity. you'll notice that as well. rain just remains here over the next few days and just keeps pouring over the same area as this high continues to block the rain. an atmospheric traffic jam if you will. the moisture just continuing to train over the same area. that is going to be an issue. you don't have weather systems moving, you'll have problems with the rainfall. hi to switch the color -- i had to switch the color table. over a foot in some areas of louisiana. we'll watch that, that is going to be a big deal for them. eventually that rain does arrive. it won't be that heavy here because the system will be moving as it moves through, but the timing probably not so good

james kelly and virgil bloom responded to a call of a 18- month-old having a seizure. instead of wait forget the ambulance they broke the rules and took her to the hospital in their fire truck. both men were later placed on administrative leave but a facebook page calling for their reinstatement received more than 7,000 likes. james kelly says he got messages of support from people all over the country and even from the united kingdom. >> amazing. international status, like, seriously, people hitting me up from international. it's amazing the community came together to support us. >> the county fire chief says it's standard procedure to put firefighters on leave while the investigation goes on. firefighters say the girl who had a seizure is now doing fine. if you have not seen this photo take a look. an ocala father's fast reflexes kept a baseball bat from smashing in his son's face.

abc action news live on the scene of a serious crash in pinellas park. reporter corey dierdorff is there. what is the latest? >> reporter: good morning. getting mixed information on the scene but what we know so far, it's a single-vehicle crash rolled over with at least one person transported to the hospital. it's the northbound u.s. 19 ramp from the southbound 49th street north in pinellas park. you can see that truck rolled over completely blocking the northbound ramp right now from 49th street to u.s. 19. very light delays in the area right now but as we move forward into the rush hour this could definitely cause a problem so give yourself an extra five, 10 minutes if you use this stretch of northbound u.s. 19. janelle? i want to show you a map of where this crash happened.

street north ramp on to u.s. 19. so u.s. 19 and 49th street pretty backed up both northbound and southbound so you might want to avoid that, probably a lot of onlooker alternates. 28th street, however, moving pretty good now so leave extra time if your morning drive takes you there. in pinellas park elsewhere, good shape on 275 at 38th avenue south. from bridge-to-bridge. and checking out your drive times on 275 starting all the way back at the apex to i-4 it's taking 16 minutes. once you're in downtown it's taking six minutes to get from i-4 to the howard frankland bridge. action air 1 is heading over to pinellas park now. it's flying there and you can see it flying over 275, looks like now, looking great there. as soon as the helicopter gets to the crash we'll bring you more information.

andrew joseph iii to talk about how they are reaching out to the u.s. department of justice for help. grayson wants authorities to see if andrew's civil rights were violated. last month his parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the sheriff's office, authorities and the school district. double check your credit card statements if you filled up your gas tank in sarasota lately. deputies say they found two credit card skimming devices. at a 7-eleven mobile gas station on fruitville road. the devices meant to steal your information were found this past weekend. it's not clear exactly when they were installed. this morning there is a warning about a new scam, this tax season. the scammers trick payroll departments into e-mailing your personal tax information to them. the scammer pretends to be the company's ceo, even makes the e- mail address appear to be from the ceo. in the last month it's happened at several major companies. they include evening post industries in south carolina and main line health in pennsylvania.

the scammers are using the information to file bogus tax returns. >> they just go to linked in, they see who works in accounting and those are the people that are getting these types of attacks. >> the irs is now warning companies to be extra diligent when confirming the identity of anyone asking for personal information by e-mail. share this scam with your friends on our abc action news free mobile app. a south florida child is sharing a scary experience this morning. she says she managed to get away from a man who tried to kidnap her as she walked home from school last week. that whole disturbing scene was all caught on surveillance video. a man drove up next to the 13- year-old girl in pompano beach and asked if she was walking home. she ignored him and he got out, chased her down the road and tried to grab her from behind and pull her into his suv. she said her backpack had lots of books and stopped him from getting a good grip on her.

6:40. a consumer alert about a popular breakfast sandwich sold at some starbucks locations. progressive gourmet is recalling the sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. could contain listeria. the 6-ounce sandwiches were sold at hundreds of stores in texas, arkansas and oklahoma. starbucks says it's removed the sandwiches from the locations, the fda says no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. this morning a south florida mother is warning other moms to carefully watch the expiration dates on baby formula.

samantha goalton says the baby formula she bought at a target was expired and made her 3- month-old sick. she says her daughter started to vomit more than usual last week. her babysitter noticed the baby formula she was using had expired last september. she went back to the target in lake worth where she bought the formula, was shocked by what she found on the shelf. >> 2015, 2014. look at. that 2014 milk. >> all of them were expired. every single one of them. not one had 2016. >> that woman says she took her daughter to the doctor that told her to stop using that expired formula. she filed a complaint with the target guest relations. targets released a statement saying the chain is now looking into the situation. still ahead -- a popular place for family-friendly fun landing on the "dirty dining" list. the uninvited guests that shut this spot down. >> we're following breaking news in pinellas park, a

sent one person to the hospital this morning. you can see that car loaded on the wrecker now as this accident is in the clearing stages. right now some very moderate delays as people are working around this but expect this to be cleared the next 10 to 15 minutes. how are the rest of the roads looking? i want to point out the main lines are open. look here from action air 1, so u.s. 19 open now in both directions and so is 49th street. it's just the ramp that is closed so keep that in mind. i want to show you on the map you can see some of the congestion in this area, so 49th street southbound is pretty clogged because cars are not able to get to u.s. 19, they are having to continue on so just keep it in mind. down to 20 miles an hour so if your morning drive takes threw you may want to leave a little extra time. we have a crash on 275 at bird street in the southbound lanes. looks like a couple of vehicles involved. knits the shoulder. i just checked the drive time

there. a quick check of the drive times on the toll roads, on the veterans expressway, 23 minutes from 54 to 275. and the selmon expressway not too bad, seven minutes there in the middle from i-75 into downtown. how's the weather? looks fantastic. just like yesterday and tomorrow, looks good as well with temperatures warming up. that will be the difference here. you'll notice that. more humidity to work with. temperatures this morning not as cold as yesterday in the 50s and 60s. and we're on our way to 80 degrees by later today. titan doppler radar across tampa bay area quiet. area of high pressure in charge of our weather pattern. that is bringing us a southeasterly flow and that is moderating our temperatures. moving west, action in texas, severe thunderstorm watch boxes and severe thunderstorm warnings. eventually, eventually that rain will begin to move to our area but not so fast, not with this blocking high here. this wall of fair weather here

if you're headed up that way we're in pretty good shape. the entire peninsula looks good. again the rain just continues to pound the same area, the high not breaking down. eventually it will and eventually we'll get into some rainfall. i think that will happen unfortunately for the weekend. the timing still iffy saturday into sunday. by the way it's not super but it's tuesday and we have primaries, looking good. michigan likewise, maybe a few raindrops here across mississippi but i don't think it will be a big deal. certainly not impacting voting there. as we check in on highs today, upper 70s to near 80 degrees. and that is the way it will go for tomorrow with each and evidence a couple degrees warmer so low 80s tomorrow. mid-80s for thursday, that means that some interior counties could be looking at upper 80s. forget spring, it's the summer preview. the timing still to be determined but looks like showers saturday and sunday finally beginning to move in. 6:47. a lot at stake in democracy

heading to the polls in just hours. michigan is the big prize on both sides with the most delegates at stake. on the republican side 59 delegates, on the democratic side 130. democrats also voting in mississippi, mississippi, hawaii and idaho also cast their votes for republicans. we're waiting for primaries to come in from those states and hearing a potentially game changing run from former new york mayor michael bloomberg won't happen after all. he had considered running as third party candidate but said in an editorial yesterday he fears a three-way race would only benefit republican frontrunner donald trump. bloomberg went on to say "i love our country too much to play a role in electing a candidate who would weaken our unity and darken our future." we found out overnight that bernie sanders and hillary clinton will be campaigning in tampa on the very same day. they will both be holding

ahead of next week's crucial florida primary. last night the focus was on michigan and all of its delegates at stake. in a fox news town hall sanders was on damage control for saying white people don't know what it is like to be poor. >> i meant by that, in african- american communities you have people who are living in desperation, often being abused by white police officers. but i know about white poverty, it exists in my state, it exists all over this country. >> meanwhile clinton tried to put questions about her e-mails to rest calling it a mistake saying it did not endanger national security. governor scott has declared flags in the state of florida, will be flown at half-staff to honor nancy reagan. week. the friday ceremony is closed to the public but she will lie in repose for public visitation starting tomorrow at the reagan presidential limery in simi valley, california. she will be buried next to her husband at the library.

failure at 94 yearlings old this weekend. a survivor of the boston marathon bombing died in a car accident overseas. victoria mcgrath and a classmate were on a personal trip to dubai when killed. mcgrath was near the finish line of the boston marathon when two bombs went off on april 15, 2013 sending shrapnel into her leg. a bomb firefighter carried -- a boston firefighter carried her away from the scene. new developments on the 9- year-olds chicago boy who police say was shot and killed execution style because of his today we could find out more about the man who is now charged with the child's murder. chicago police are set to hold a news conference about this case early this afternoon, last night police charged a awhite boone dodi with killing that little boy. police say boone-dodi was already in custody on unrelated gun charges. breaking overnight in our kansas city scripps station.

person that shot and killed four people late last night. officers say all the victims were white men in their 30s and all shot with a high powered rifle. so far not clear what may have led up to the shootings. police named 36-year-old pablo cerrano as a person of interest and hope to find him soon. "dancing with the stars" host erin andrews is waking up to a huge victory against marriott hotels and the man who recorded her naked without her knowledge. andrewsaryfully thanked jurors last night who decided to award her $55 million. she wanted $75 million from the nashville hotel she was in when michael barrett stalked and videotaped her secretly in her hotel room in 2008 and posted the images to the internet. he was sentenced to two and-a- half years in prison and andrews says because of what happened she's still paranoid. >> i look to see if there's cameras, i check the bed, i check the alarm clock, i check the phone. >> lawyers for the nashville hotel haven't said if they plan to appeal the jury's decision.
