>> reporter: the latest example today in bloomington, illinois. >> it was totally organized troublemakers. you know the truth is, they are disrupters. they are really disrupters. they are not protesters, they are disrupters. >> reporter: last night police in kansas city used forces for crowd control and when that didn't work, they used pepper spray. >> i just got a mouthful of pepper spray. >> reporter: trump blames bernie sanders. in a crowd we witnessed several times he is right that these are sanders supporters. the tensions have been growing. in chicago trump canceled a rally friday after too many protesters turned up. image. claiming the guy is a supporter of isis. law enforcement officials don't buy that for a minute.

side because of what the protesters are doing and a lot of people have voted in those big states in florida because of early voting nearly 1 million republicans have cast their vote. in ohio they have been voting since the middle of february. but in the long run, this can hurt trump. he needs to unit republicans and if he is to get the republican nomination, he needs to unit this country. this is not going into this direction. >> thank you. now to the democrats hillary clinton trying to take a big step toward sealing up the nomination with wins on tuesday. bernie sanders facing an uphill battle. and poll showing clinton leading in all five states. the two taking the stage far town hall in ohio tonight. abc mary bruce on the campaign trail. >> reporter: tonight bernie sanders is crying foul as

the blast you see it right there reportedly from a car bomb near a bus stop in the capitol. nearby. and al qaeda claiming assault. gunmen targeting three hotels. resort. >> reporter: a bloody sunday on two continents. in turkey's capitol emergency explosion ripped through an area next to a bus stop and government building. debris and bombed out cars the dead and wounded carried away. more than 30 people killed according to the authorities. the u.s. state department had warned of a potential attack. it was the fourth to hit turkey in just six months which had been blamed on turkey's two main enemies the kurds and isis. it came just after news from west africa that armed attackers that stormed a beach resort.

said they shouted god is great. they quickly surrounded the area and evacuated the wounded to safety. the government said 16 people were killed in addition to six attackers who were believed to be from the al qaeda affiliate in africa after they claimed responsibility. it's the third time they have struck in the past four months after carrying out deadly attacks on hotels in two nearby countries. mali and berkina. these terror attacks are growing whether it's turkey, west africa or in europe. the question about the next attack is not about if but when. dangerous weather across much of the country. five million people facing a severe weather threat tonight that could include tornadoes. massive destruction of historic flooding in the south. >> reporter: tonight

communities across the south working to hold back the swollen rivers. in this covington, louisiana neighborhood families that were rescued by boat this weekend returning home today to see the damage. we were with the engelheart family when they were rescued. their home was spared but right down the street amy's house was one of 5,000 across louisiana damaged by flooding. >> our house was surround the. by the time we got out the front and the back met. and we knew it was over. >> reporter: roadways in the community under water. debris even a flaming propane tank floating among the submerged homes. and new worries. dangerous mold. the damaged base boards and saturated dry wall coming out. >> my son and i have really bad allergies so getting the mold in here will be our biggest

so we want to get it taken care of. >> reporter: tom, incredibly this is the same neighborhood where the rescues took place just yesterday. so obviously the skies have cleared up here but just north of here, severe weather is on the move. many bracing for dangerous storms tonight. tom. >> phillip, thank you. let's get to meteorologist endra peterson. >> we are talking about the severe weather ramping up. a little bit of an enhanced risk in northern louisiana. moving cells. that means it could take people off guard. and it means the threat for flash flooding could be high from any of these quick moving systems and a heavy downpour. in the pacific northwest they continue to see series after through. many people in seattle already without power thanks to strong winds. remember you're talking about that ground is saturated. winds gusting as high as 60-70

miles per hour. we have high surf on the oregon as well. they do need the snow in the sierra and that is great news. >> okay good to know. thank you. new developments in the zika outbreak. nearly 200 cases confirmed across 31 states and that number expected to rise. but scientists fighting back. >> reporter: tonight a potential new weapon in the fight against zika virus. the fda researching an experiment. scientists would release genetically modified male mosquitoes into the wild. that gene would make the offspring die. in brazil, scientists are already using these mosquitoes. our dr. richard besser saw them firsthand in february. >> it produces two million male mosquitoes. >> reporter: this comes as the

centers for disease control warns zika could spread in the united states. mostly in the gulf, florida, and texas by june. zika is linked to birth defects in brain development. putting pregnant women at risk. while the experiment in brazil has proven successful, it doesn't sit well with some living in the florida key where is the insects would be released. >> when you open this pandora box, there is no way to recall the mosquitoes. >> reporter: critics fear with experimenting may not be safe. the fda is taking public comments before a final decision on the florida field test is made. tom. >> eva, thank you. a record number of travelers hitting american airports this travel season as spring break approaches. right now airports are dealing with out of control security lines. subway times reaching more than two hours. here is gloria riviera with what you need to know. >> reporter: tonight across
