>> we start closer to home. michael is live at clearwater country side library. michael, voters have just two more hours left to get out the vote. how is the line where you are. >> reporter: you can expect a lot of people getting off of work. the line is not too bad. a steady line of voters coming in today. so far so good in pinellas county. that has not been the case in other parts of the state. 52 precincts had ballot shortages and. election officials asked the governor to extend their voting times from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. but as we mentioned, not here in pinellas county. turnout here has been good and steady and of course they have plenty of supplies here at the clearwater country side public library. people have been coming in and out all day. with two hours before the polls close, this is the time that it will start to pick up a lot. there haven't been a lot of issues and that is good. some people had registered as independent. that meant that they couldn't vote so they were upset about that.

more than 70,000 votes here on election day. and that number was climbing. a lot of people talked to us as they were walking out. >> it's been disgusting the way, you know, everybody just doesn't pay attention to what the people want and we're sick of it. >> i voted for our favorite son, rubio. >> well, i didn't vote for trump. so maybe that gives you a hint. it must be the other two guys. >> he could do the best for our economy. fix things. they're bad right now. >> reporter: so we talked to maybe 15, 20 people today. only one person told us that you heard that they are voting for marco rubio. a lot of people wanted to keep it a secret. if the lines pick up as we anticipate, as long as you're in line before 7:00 p.m., you're allowed to wait and cast your ballot. michael paluska, abc action news.

where a man was hit in the face. that sheriff says that trump cannot be charged for inciting a riot. we will bring you more updates throughout the night. i'm carson chambers, abc action news. >> thank you, carson. a lot at stake in ohio tonight where governor john kasich is spending the day in his home state. he stepped out this morning at the local polling place, making sure to cast a ballot for himself. he has yet to win a prime rebut expected to win ohio. he currently has 63 delegates. a win in ohio would more than double his delegate count. right now hillary clinton leading bernie sanders. you see it there. by more than 200 points -- or 200 delegates rather. hillary clinton is expected to win all but one state in the primary today. lauren rozyla is with the

hillary clinton will be right here at the convention center in west palm beach. behind me. this venue holds about a thousand people. the clinton campaign expects it to be a full hoes for her remarks tonight. clinton spent the day campaigning in north carolina. here she is at a polling location. one of the big things she is expected to talk about in florida is raising american incomes through tax cuts. she wants it to be easier for small business owners to get credit. it will push businesses to compete over workers. she also touched on republican candidate donald trump. despite his growing popularity, she doesn't believe that he appeals to most of the country. >> luster and bigotry and bullying that he is exemplifying on the campaign trail is disturbing to the majority of americans. >> reporter: so far today clinton hasn't commented much on her fellow candidate in the democratic race for president,

tampa heights. clifton french is live in the neighborhood right now. clifton, i understand that you spoke to a neighborhood who is that right? >> reporter: yes, she heard several gunshots, about two volleys earlier this afternoon. the scene here was just crowded with police, surrounded by tape for several hours. this is the home right here. about an hour ago, police finally cleared the scene. we just got updated information from police. they say a 40-year-old man, solomon, heard someone break in. he grabbed a gun and shot that intruder. now, neighbors say that solomon lives in this home with his mother. now, we got some video of solomon being escorted back to the scene by police. his mother then came out of a neighbor's home crying. neither one of them wanting to speak with us right now. we are learning that the shooting happened just before 1:00 this afternoon. police say solomon saw the intruder in the kitchen and that's when he shot him.

lives a few houses down. >> just like pop, pop, pop and then followed by another set. probably like six shots total. but, again, this has alwaways felt like a safe community. the neighbors all look out for each other. >> reporter: now, this isn't the first time an intruder has been shot by someone defending their home in the neighborhood. a few houses down from this one in 2012 an intruder was shot in the arm. police have not released the name of the intruder, the man who was killed in this shooting. but they say that solomon is not facing any charges. i'm reporting live in tampa, clifton french, abc action news. now the most accurate weather team in florida, abc action weather. >> good afternoon, everybody. we got fogged in this morning. we're talking about visibility less than a tenth of a mile long the coast. they closed the sky way to before noon.

>> we're getting word the entire washington, d.c. subway system is going to shut down for 29 hours starting at midnight tonight. this is a map of the system. officials say they need to inspect electrical components on the tracks. the railway will open 5:00 a.m. on thursday morning. they say this is an emergency and the work needs to be done and immediately. fire on the tracks led to major delays throughout the system on monday. more breaking news. this time from texas. fort worth police are on the search for a gunman who shot a police officer. the gunfire coming after a short pursuit. threatening injuries. one suspect was shot at the scene and the other ran off.

condition of the suspect who ran o. look at this video from earlier today. a dump truck smashed through the guardrail near the ramp at expressway. investigators say the driver that guardrail. luckily the driver was able to make it out of the truck without any injuries. on florida's east coast, two people were killed when a train crashed into a truck in jupiter. it happened just before 4:00 this morning. the two people inside the pickup truck were killed. their names have not been released at this hour. the rail company is working to repair the tracks. well, right now this viral video has a college student for texas calling for the police officer to be charged. he says he was tossed to the ground by the officer for riding a hover board in the mall. jessie valdez was found not guilty of resisting arrest. he says the deputy never asked

and he is actually the victim of excessive force. >> i'm very thankful for the verdict of not guilty. but like i said, i seek further justice. the officer needs to be charged for what he has done to me. >> valdez's lawyer says the officer should be fired and charged with excessive force. the district attorney's office is now opening an investigation but has not yet filed any charges. as for the deputy, he says he welcomes the investigation and claims he did nothing wrong. now the most accurate weather team in florida, abc action weather. >> pretty nice weather out there today. a lot of the focus was on fog. >> yeah. the sky way bridge closed down for a good part of the morning. >> there is still fog out there right now and dense fog advisories off shore. they will move on shore later tonight. expect another round of a headache of a morning commute tomorrow morning. you look outside from river gate, it's beautiful. it's warm.

temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. the problem with that is this time of the year when the water is still cool and you get that warmer air, that leads, especially air that comes in from a tropical air mass where the dew points are rising, leads to a lot of fog. that as we said will be another issue. you can bank on it tomorrow. especially if you live anywhere within 10 miles of the coast. it will be even thicker. then it will thin out a little bit inland. temperatures right now mid to upper 80s across our anterior counties. everybody east of i-75 and stacked up along the coast it's in the 70s thanks to the fog. some folks along the beach have none. because the fog has been so thick. and throughout this evening, you can see coastal areas very limited visibility. but you move inland, polk skies. overnight, then things change. by first thing tomorrow

socked in, especially if you live closer to the beach. upper 70s in st. pete right now. a good deal of sunshine after the foggy start. as we said, that sky way didn't open up until lunchtime. would not shock me if we see the same kind of setup tomorrow with limited visibility along the coastline. once the fog lifts, we have a beautiful day with temperatures unseasonably warm. we should be in the mid 70s. we're almost 10 degrees above normal. and we are as you go inland. as we said this evening, you can already gun to see the -- begin to see the fog rolling in. then we are socked in in the morning. ivan will be here in the morning to let you know where the advisories are located and who has the thickest fog and how long of a delay the commute could be. we have got you covered. notice how quickly it burns off. by 9:00, 10:00, anterior. by lunchtime, along the coast. the immediate coastline

socked in for the second straight time. thursday morning, there we go again. same setup. same amount of fog early on. but by friday, things begin to change. you even begin to see showers pop up late thursday. and then all of a sudden, friday, saturday and sunday, we have got rain rolling in. here is a look at the european model. through thursday, we're dry. all of a sudden friday and saturday and sunday overall rainfall not excessively heavy. over the three-day stretch, maybe a few spots heavier. it will not be all-day rains. we will have pieces of energy that come through and each one bump up the rain chances a bit. arriving in ex week. the cold stuff stays off to our north. you can see that blue color digging down into the carolinas and into georgia. i think by monday and tuesday of next week, back to 70 for the high. two days of refreshing changes. and then you notice the orange and the red.

>> right now, more than a dozen teens facing charges after throwing a house party at a home that wasn't even theirs. >> the house was recently sold and still vacant waiting for the new homeowners to move in. police in california found 200 teens at the house party there. you see the damage, empty liquor bottles and cups. neighbors say two girls stopped by saying they closed on the house and were having a small party. it turns out the girls were not the new homeowners. >> the first deputy who arrived on scene said there was approximately 200-plus young adults there who obviously when they saw the sheriff's vehicle

>> live from the station taking action for you. this is abc action news. >> now at 5:30, new video shows a landscaper in pasco county ramming two patrol cars during a chase. tonight for the first time we're hearing his excuse. i'm jamison uhler. >> and i'm laura harris. eric waxler is live in trinity where all of this ended up last night. eric. >> reporter: yeah. the pasco sheriff's office released the body camera video to us this afternoon. it shows different angles from different deputies chasing after a suspected drunk driver. you will see the chase was dangerous and could have ended much worse. this is body camera video from one of several pasco county sheriffs deputies trying to stop suspected drunk driver chris ton conte. you see the landscaping truck!

driving off in new port richey. the cell phone video from a driver who pulled over. conte was on cocaine as he drove around west pasco. >> you have a person who is drugged out of his mind driving a 5,000 pound vehicle. you know, that's like someone running through a mall with a gun waiving it. >> reporter: he was driving with a blown-out tire. the deputies used stop sticks. >> got him. >> reporter: as the chase turned down trinity boulevard, conte's truck side swipes a patrol car spinning him out. >> i visually saw him rip on to the wheel and turn into my vehicle. >> reporter: moments later with the truck disabled, deputies rush in and make the arrest. conte admits to them that he is under the influence. >> i'm drugged out of my mind. >> reporter: even though the chase went on in the early evening with hundreds of drivers on the road, no one was injured. >> there could have been a family coming home from practice, from picking up kids from day care and this
