yesterday, as much as 10 to 15 degrees below where we were putting ugto the mid and upper 30s to the north. 58 in st. pete with the water influence. 45 bartow. not bad along the coast but the interior is in the 40s. there's not much wind so the actual temperatures are what it actually feels like as opposed to wind chill. there's that but otherwise cold start, temperatures as we get into the afternoon into the 50s, so janelle, we're looking pretty mild here in the 20:00 hour, low to mid- -- 2:00 hour low to mid-70s. i've been checking the crash in sarasota on i-57 southbound. on the map i can show you where it is and if it is causing traffic problems. you can see southbound just after you pass university parkway, traffic indicators in the green, so even though we have reports that the right lane is blocked we're not seeing delays so you should be

people, just about the rationale behind trying to improve relations between the two countries. yesterday, it was a big move, we saw history happening as president obama and cuban president raul castro vowing to continue to press forward with the changes, loosening the year-old embargo. keeping with the sentiment the two are expected to unite again today but this time through sport, both scheduled to attend the game between the tampa bay rays and cuban national team in havana this afternoon. i got a chance to speak to some of the rays, they say it's more an just an honor to play in front of the cuban people and people back home but also a chance to be part of history. >> hopefully we bring some -- we take some awareness of what is actually going on here and hopefully the people from cuba enjoy and appreciate while we're here and going forward hopefully having some things

rights go. >> reporter: free admission to get into today's game but getting in will be pretty difficult. we've seen people who came all the way here from tampa bay but there are not enough tickets to go around. one last note -- possibly a product of all the changes that are happening between the united states and cuba. select cruises will now be allowed to cruise from the u.s. to cuba and that starts in may. with all of that many commercial airlines have petitioned to be able to fly here, hopefully by the enend of this year or next. in havana, laura harris, back to you. >> as she mentioned hot on the heels of the president's historic trip we just learned that cruises to cuba will set sail in a few weeks from florida. carnival is launching voyages from miami to cuba starting in may. this makes it the first cruise ship to set sail to cuba from

instead of campaigning or debating all three gop candidates spoke to a critical pro-israel lobbying group yesterday in washington. the republican candidates are all stating their unwavering support for the jewish state. >> when i become president the days of treating israel like a second class citizen will end on day one! we're staying on top of breaking news in belgium. police say at least 13 people are dead, possibly even more, after two explosions in the brussels international airport. this is video from inside a chaotic scene. a witness calling it a war scene with debris and walking wounded everywhere. reports that one of the blasts was a suicide bomber. another blast at a metro station, that bomb apparently planted on railroad tracks, that station near the headquarters of the european union. dozens more injured in that blast. for the first time we are now hearing officials referring to the coordinated blasts as terror attacks. everyone in brussels told to stay where they are right now. the french president just announcing he's holding an emergency meeting because of the blasts. this morning's explosions come just a few days after the top suspect in last year's paris attacks was arrested.

arrested over the weekend, officials say saleh abdelslam is his name. and he was taken into custody at his apartment complex. he was apparently planning other terror attacks. belgian's foreign minister says during the raid they found a large number of weapons, according to saleh abdelslam's lawyers he's fighting extradition to france, has a court appearance scheduled for tomorrow. france remains under a state of emergency after those november 13th attacks which killed 130 people several of the attackers also were killed. cold start to the morning. temperatures around 50 in tampa, clearwater 55. 58 st. pete. with a wind out of the northeast, look at the temperatures to the north across the nature coast where the frost continues, an advisory until 9:00 a.m. look at this orange hue, this is the mid-levels of the atmosphere.

it will be a day you see all blue, not much clouds but that changes as the high shifts further east. there are the clouds, that will also moderate our temperatures as well. even by this afternoon already getting back into the 70s, eventually that the 80s. however, unsettled weather begins thursday and continues into the weekend as this front begins to approach. that will increase moisture and with that boundary nearby we're going to continue with rain chances on and off through the weekend. temperatures this afternoon in the 70s, looking milder. tonight not as cold, we drop into the 50s, still below average for this time of year. 79 to 80 for tomorrow. three-day forecast shows temperature continuing to climb along with the rain chances going up as well. 30% coverage on thursday and then again friday through the weekend and even into next week coverage of 40% to 50%. not going to rain every minute of everyday but unsettled weather means showers

the roads are dry, visibility is good, all bridges are open. we're going to start on the howard frankland, what it looks like at the tampa side of the bridge. wide open, no crashes or breakdowns here. let's check drive times. 8 minutes across the courtney campbell causeway now. 6 minutes across the howard frankland. 8 minutes on the gandy bridge so all in the green there. veterans expressway, if you're heading there this morning, all in the green, a lot of construction that was going on overnight is in the clearing about that. 17 minutes from 54 to 275. down there at the bottom just six minutes to get from waters to 275. a 12-year-old in central florida is facing battery charges for pinching another pilled school student. brianna evans says she thought it was a joke when she pinched a young boy on the behind.

took her to juvenile detention charging her with battery. evans says her father -- she and her father have signed her up for a pretrial diversion program and that will keep the misdemeanor charges off her record. imagine you're at a gas station, filling up and going to get coffee, when suddenly this happens. >> this video now going viral. it shows a woman pulling out a gun that she was hiding in her underwear and opened fire. happened in detroit. three suspects under arrest after a driver was shot several times. >> the injuries not life threatening. a woman who worked at the gas station for five years says she has not seen anything like this. >> it's crazy. it's too many guns out here for real. it's like the wild, wild west. >> the camera catching this horrific scene. police believe it was connected to the police department through a special program. the video so clear tips started to flood in, within hours of the shooting leading to the arrests. an 11-year-old in minnesota

stealing a cement truck. look at the video. leading police on a high speed chase, steals that truck from a construction site on sunday. the boy refuses to pull over, smashes into two police cars and then about an hour later police cornering that truck in boy. he now faces several charges, no one was hurt but the truck lost a tire and also caused heavy damage to some of the streets around there. after facing tough questions and calls to resign on capitol hill michigan governorric snyder laid out his plans to make the city of flint better and its toxic water drinkable. snyder addressed the economic club luncheon in grand rapids yesterday as 75-point plan to fix the city of flint's lead- tainted drinking water includes a project to replace 30 known lead water lines in the city. it also includes the introduction of higher regulations for water standards and what the government says and what the federal government

rays game and president obama, set to watch in cuba this afternoon. >> and at least 13 people are dead in belgium after what authorities are calling a series of terror attacks at brussels airport. and metro stations. the city of brussels on lockdown now. airports across europe in fact ramping up security. also the french president calling an emergency meeting as france remains in a state of emergency from the terror attacks in november. you can see the airport, parts of it destroyed there and folks milling about on the tarmac. we're pulling new video like this showing the metro station and the airport off the feeds as we speak. to keep you updated on this fluid and tragic situation,

in belgium in what authorities are now calling terror attacks. >> several explosions damaged the airport in brussels and at least one nearby metro station in the capital city overnight. that city now on lockdown. we have new video from twitter. showing the chaos that unfolded moments after the blasts at the airport. you can see travelers running from the building. the airport's windows blown out by the force of the explosion, smoke rising from the rooftop. many reports coming in, that one of the explosions was a suicide bomber. explosions happened inside the airport's departure hall. here's a look at the damage from inside that building. hundreds of people were there at the time to check in. this happened during the morning rush hour over there in brussels. overnight belgium raised its terror alert to its maximum level. all flights to brussels now diverted. we're also told that london and paris airports elevated their terror alert levels as well. it's near the headquarters

personnel told to stay in their offices or stay home. this is days after the prime suspect in the paris attacks was arrested in brussels, saleh abdelslam. he told investigators he was planning other attacks. we'll keep you updated. to another breaking story we're following. an on-line sale leads to violence in ruskin overnight. this morning three people in the hospital recovering from the shooting. deputies say a group of people met up last night to sell items listed on an internet web site when someone pulled out a gun and started to fire. we're going to be keeping track of both of these stories throughout the morning. for now let's go over to meteorologist ivan cabrera to look at today's forecast. a cold start. you need a jacket. >> it's cold indeed. we're talking about frost. can you imagine, first week of spring. frost advisories continue in effect until 9:00 a.m. across noncoastal citrus and hernando counties. pasco doing fine, hillsborough as well as far as frost but you're not doing ok as far as the temperatures.
