heavy rain continues to threaten multiple counties with flooding. >> and a teen shot. why authorities are having trouble getting anywhere in the investigation. >> a fiery scene after a three- car crash in hillsborough county. this is video a viewer if you were near hillsborough avenue and hoover boulevard you might have seen this last night. highway patrol is investigating the crash. we're waiting to find out now how this happened and how the people are who were in those cars. good morning, thank you for joining us on abc action news on this tuesday morning. >> you may have already awakened by the hard rain. a lot of wet streets? >> about everywhere. i ran into a bunch coming in. we'll track that coming up. >> and that is just from the rain that has already fallen.

yesterday but the problem is damage is done. we had a cluster of storms that rolled through this morning. mainly really rain, not much in the form of lightning but boy did it hit northern pinellas pretty hard with pockets of one to three inches in just a few hours. at this point we're just tracking what is left of it, light rain across northern hillsborough, that crossed over into pasco as well. zephyrhills about to get into light to moderate showers but widen out the shot a little and there's more heavy rain though this is primarily going to the north. they clip northern heading to pasco and hernando. so more ran is on the way and we'll have periods of heavy rainfall as we head through later today, before we begin to dry out over the next couple days. first we have to get through another potential 2 to 4 inches of rainfall so flood watches are flying, still through 8:00 p.m. tonight across citrus county, herb and pasco counties. you're going to have wet roads. we already started to see some

can show you where we have some potential for ponding or standing water. that is going to be the area shaded in blue. so palm harbor to tampa, lake magd lean area, watch for standing water where the roads typically flood. that may be the case right now. in this area we have a crash southbound veterans expressway just past van dyke. not really causing any delays but again could be the wet rain causing slippery conditions out there. so be careful. we're going to check times on the veterans expressway. you can see not really causing a huge slowdown now. 23 minutes from 54 to 275. a little slow here from waters to 275, 12 minutes. one of the mornings with our might want to head out a little early because this rain is slowing things down a bit. back to you. it's 5:02. this morning we're checking with officials to see how they are prepared in case of more flooding. a few more inches of rain in the next couple of days on top of what we've already seen could mean big trouble for

we take you live to the retention pond in pasco county as they continue to monitor areas of flooding problems. just yesterday a retention pond overspilled its banks flooding a street. families nearby are worried if the rain gets worse that water will be in their homes. >> every time it rains you have to look outside and wonder what is going to happen. >> some people packed sandbags in front of their houses to try to keep the officials say this year they are more prepared than last year to deal with the flooding. they believe their stormwater system is working better than before the director of emergency services does admit the flooding problems last year but says they are ready to handle anything now. we're getting new information on breaking news that we first brought you last night at 11:00. the hillsborough county sheriff's office tells us a teenager shot in the face may be the result of a possible drug deal gone bad. that 16-year-old is injured but we're hearing that he should be

after 10:30 on alamonda avenue. we got to the scene and a forensic unit was taking pictures and gathering evidence. deputies say the victim though is not cooperating. right now no word on any suspects. we've got a crime alert. police are searching for two men who kicked in a woman's door and robbed her. abc action news reporter ryan smith is live in the studio with the clues that detectives need you to be on the lookout for. >> first, we want to viewers to exactly where this crime happened. it was the central point subdivision in winter haven along the wallace manor pass- over. we also get a good look this morning with new surveillance images coming to us. this is the car, the two suspects drove away in. it's a newer model dark gray or black chrysler 200. the victim says around 8:00 monday morning she saw two suspicious men through the peephole banging on her door.

locked herself in the back of the house and dialed 911. that is when they kicked in her door and got inside. they snagged her purse and television. luckily she was not hurt in this incident. police say the two are in their 20s to 30s, stocky build wearing black shirts. investigators hoping someone can recognize this car here and help track these guys down. live in the studio, ryan smith, abc action news. when st. pete police say another patient came in and attacked her. 53-year-old david webber in jail charged with sexual battery. police say she went into the woman's room and started to kiss her. and ripped sensors off her chest and began groping her. the victim screamed and the nurse came in, said webber was still on top of the woman. we checked with the hospital to find out about patient safety since it's such a large facility and part of the

>> police say he >> ited to getting on top of her and said the attack was rand we just checked and he's still in the jail this morning. we have tragic news from colorado. two little girls and their babysitter all drowned in a swimming pool. police say the girls ages 3 and 5 were with babysitter when it happened yesterday afternoon in a mobile home park about two hours south of denver. police are still trying to figure out now exactly how it happened but they don't suspect any foul play. for the first time this morning we're also hearing from the mother of twin toddlers who died after their father left them in a hot car in georgia. we brought you this breaking news friday morning when the father was arrested in the deaths of 15-month-old ariel

>> they are the best thing that happened to me, i lost a little girl in 2014 as well. >> the mom was at a hospital with her sister who was in a really bad car accident. she said she was overprotective of her twins and it was the first time she left them in their father's care. >> ( indiscernible ) [crying] >> the one day she left them she wants to tell them she's shorey. police say the father was drunk when he left them in a car thursday. she plans to bury them thursday. after seeing the story on an atlanta news station movie producer tyler perry called saying he wants to pay for the funerals. 5:07 now. nearly 6,000 people died from dementia in florida each year.

to an end. ivan and janelle checking weather and traffic in a minute. meanwhile happening today -- dade city could become the 16th community in florida to ban fracking. commissioners are holding the second and final public hearing on the issue. they will vote on an ordinance that would prohibit the process. opponents say fracking may contaminate groundwater and claim florida's limestone makes it even worse. supporters say the industry would give a big boost to the state's economy. neighboring pinell c dade city will decide tonight at 5 :30 at at this hall. this morning thousands of people in southern california are getting unwelcome news because of the flames that you see there. authorities are telling families in the danger zone that now is the time to evacuate. hundreds of firefighters and more than a dozen aircraft are battling the latest wildfire, already evacuated nearly 400 families. it spread across nearly 10 square miles in the mountains

have been rolling all across the mojave desert to las vegas. a strange scene to behold, we're waterlogged across central florida. we can use a break. i think we'll get it by the time we get into tomorrow. a more typical pattern tomorrow. but still rain across carolwood, temple terrace. the roads are going to be wet and we still have lots of ponding. this morning treasure heavy rain through pinellas and heading into portns county. we're not quite done. again we've been tracking this cluster of heavy rain that will continue to move to the north. just clipping northern parts of pinellas. tarpon springs really heading into pasco and citrus. the issue here of course is this is the area that picked up the heaviest rain the last several days. some areas pushing 10, now surpassing 10 inches at this point. we'll continue to see the band rolling through. the low hasn't moved away far enough yet to lose its grip

flood watches, an additional 2 to 4 inches, it will be spread out through today. then that expires by the way as we head through 8:00 this evening. better news, as the low moves away we'll get back into a southeasterly flow. area of high pressure from the atlantic actually building in. it's nice. we have not seen that in a while. that will set the stage for more typical afternoon storms. still going to have our sea breezes, still lots of moisture and so we are going to look for lots of thunderstorm activity, won't be the steady heavy rain every minute. that will allow for soils to begin to be able to take water better and so of course that will lead to less flooding, ponding still an issue as you know in your areas here. temperatures in the low 90s. we've been in the 80s because of the cloud cover and rainfall. we'll get back into some heat and humidity next few days. so get ready for that. but this morning still some issues on the roads with wetness. same as yesterday although the rain isn't coming down

our maps can tell us exactly where we're seeing the wet roads. that is the area shaded in green. just about everywhere in the tampa area up through pasco county, even some in pinellas county and the blue is where we see potential for ponding so if there's low-lying roads in the blue areas, wesley chapel, lutz, you might see some flooding or standing water there. let's check the cameras outside, not too bad i-75 and gandy up to speed right now through st. pete on 275. also check the major roads over checking the cameras, this he is i-4 through ybor city as you head into tampa. traffic moving pretty good now, in fact we can check drive times and tell you exactly how long it's going to take you to get from the lakeland area to tampa. 23 minutes now. 8 minutes down there at the bottom from 75 to 275. 5:17. a party favor no parent wants at a teen's birthday party. >> authorities are trying to

away with a little cash after the company is sold at auction. today marks the second anniversary of the shooting death of michael brown in ferguson, missouri. the unarmed 18-year-old was shot by officer darren wilson setting off days of protests which escalated after a grand jury decided not to indiet the officer. it also led to a department of justice investigation into policing and court practices in the city. the department of justice found a pattern of bias against african-americans. lawsuit against the city of ferguson. no one would turn down a six-figure salary. there are more than 1,000 positions with that pay available now. who wants to hire you? then, you would panic too if your bus driver pulled over and got out. why the driver took off leaving his passenger locked inside. >> pokemon go is on a roll. the popular game is bringing in

you must be a u.s. citizen and have to be under 31 years old. a man's ride on the bus in central florida took a strange detour. >> he said the driver stopped the bus, got off and leaving him locked in. >> there's the driver's seat. here i am on the bus, not a soul on the bus. i started to panic. should i call 911? orange county deputies? what should i do? >> the passenger says he was stuck inside for use the bathroom which is ok but as you can imagine he's getting in trouble because he didn't communicate that important information to the rider before he made the pit stop. the man says in his 40 years taking the bus this was a first. the ride stops and the lights go out and tennessee carnival with three girls and a ferris wheel fall out of the basket. what witnesses say happened just before they dropped multiple stories to the ground. >> as we get you and your kids
