dangerous rip currents along the atlantic beaches. >> right now urging people to be careful, listen to your lifeguards. >> reporter: new jersey governor chris christie warning of lingering danger from what forecasters are now calling post tropical cyclone hermine. >> rip currents are going to get fairly aggressive before you see any other type of outward manifestations. >> reporter: millions are expected to continue to feel the effects as itomy enders up the eastern -- meanders up eastern seaboard. sunday night they said it was moving out to sea east of ocean city maryland, where residents were cautionedded no to be fooled by the apparent improvement in weather. >> the wind goes away, rain stops but rip currents. that is our biggest concern because that's when people think it's safe to go back in and that's when it is most dangerous. >> reporter: the tropical storm warning had been cancelled but for active for areas including

there could be significant challenges but not limited to loss of power, flooding and transportation issues. >> one person died in north carolina saturday amid high winds from hermine. a falling tree killed a man in florida lft week as the storm approached. though officials haven't determined if the storm was the cause. people with flooded homes in the bay area are worried about more rain. mandatory evacuations are still inla are not leaving. officers are working 16-hour shifts to patrol the flooded elfers community after the river forced families from their homes, despite a mandatory evacuation order some families are staying. officers say they can't control what people do but want to be ready if anything happens. >> public safety. biggest thing. just making sure everybody's

family find a place to stay. a former pasco county deputy now facing charges for a dui crash. investigators say 23-year-old jack armstrong jr. caused property damage to a home in hudson. no reports of injuries from the crash. armstrong since resigned from the pasco county sheriff's office. today the black lives matter group in tampa may be preparing to hold another protest. the group will be holding a stealth meeting tonight according to their facebook page. many are outraged after the hillsborough county deputy shot d tuesday in the palm river neighborhood. a burglar breaks into a bay area gushop and now 30 handguns and 10 semiautomatic rifles are missing. authorities say the suspect smashed the window titan arms. if you know where they are call crime stoppers.

4:43. 37 wastewater disposal wells now shut down in oklahoma after a record-tying earthquake there. increase of earthquakes is linked to these disposals of wastewater from oil and natural gas production. it's now tied for earthquake in state history. there's no report of any major damage but the quake was strong enough to rattle locals. >> it was pretty scary for the kids and everything. everybody was just panicked. they didn't know what to do. >> saturday's quake is at least the second of its size to affect central oklahoma since 2011. this is expected to bring new attention to the practice of disposing of water waft deep

way still with us across portions of south florida but for us i think today will be pretty typical summer day setting up for a lot of sunshine through the early part of the day and then watch on futurecast, by 1:00, 2:00 the storms fire. notice the arrows, that is the wind direction, where the storms will be moving to and from so northeast to southwest and that means they will end up along the beaches later on this afternoon, 4:00 to 7:00. so really not the best beach day but it's pretty us although next couple days we'll begin to see drier times. post tropical hermine is still impacting with new england here with gusty winds and the potential for beach erosion. going to be cool, those weekends across the northeast. it's dangerous with the rip currents but they've seen worse nor'easters and across the interior they are going to be fine. it's along the coasts martha's

good morning, upper 70s on this labor day. mid and upper 70s as we -- as we check the labor day forecast in the afternoon. still in pretty leftover moisture. rain chances 50% so pretty good chance of thunder boomers between 1:00 and 5:00 with highs around 89. a very special delivery to tell you about on this labor day. panda mom giving birth to her second set of twins at the atlanta zoo. the cubs arrived less than an hour apart. it's also the first giant pandas born in the thus year. giant pandas are born blind, almost hairless, just a little bigger than a cell phone. she gave birth to the first set

later this morning there's a labor day charity workout that benefits kids, to be held at the seminole city park at 7464 ridge road in seminole starting 8:00. work out for free with a $10 donation, or new package of children's underwear to benefit clothes to kids. giving free clothes to low income children in pinellas county. some neighborhoods are under mandatory evacuation orders because of flooding caused by hurricane hermine. >> but some people are refusing

shape early on. by the afternoon some thunderstorms are back. in fact rain chances 50%. so pretty good bet of seeing storms. temperatures right now in the upper 70s from tampa, clearwater and st. pete. mostly clear skies, a few clouds, a few showers well to the south and east not bothering us now, with temperatures by this afternoon, thinking 89, 90 degrees, typical for this time of year. titan doppler radar pretty quiet. you can see showers across portio heading to south florida. a little disturbance and we'll continue with the northeast flow bringing rain chance in the afternoon and also push the storms that develop by 12:00, 1:00 to the beaches by the time we get to 4:00 and 5:00 with temperatures as i mentioned in the upper 80s. it will feel like 95. still plenty of humidity certainly left over. this is residual, tropical moisture, what is left over where we had the last few days. there's drier air ahead but that won't come in until tomorrow. then we're really going to drop
