shape early on. by the afternoon some thunderstorms are back. in fact rain chances 50%. so pretty good bet of seeing storms. temperatures right now in the upper 70s from tampa, clearwater and st. pete. mostly clear skies, a few clouds, a few showers well to the south and east not bothering us now, with temperatures by this afternoon, thinking 89, 90 degrees, typical for this time of year. titan doppler radar pretty quiet. you can see showers across portio heading to south florida. a little disturbance and we'll continue with the northeast flow bringing rain chance in the afternoon and also push the storms that develop by 12:00, 1:00 to the beaches by the time we get to 4:00 and 5:00 with temperatures as i mentioned in the upper 80s. it will feel like 95. still plenty of humidity certainly left over. this is residual, tropical moisture, what is left over where we had the last few days. there's drier air ahead but that won't come in until tomorrow. then we're really going to drop

in a gray ford truck. if you know anything call crime stoppers. happening today -- law enforcement throughout the bay area plan to crack down on people who choose to drink and drive this labor day. it's the drive sober or get pulled over campaign. they are reminding you to plan ahead if you're drinking by using a designated driver or calling a taxi or ridesharing service. you can also call tow2 go, runs through 6:00 tuesday morning. federal transportation officials say the labor day holiday is one of the times of year for drunk driving fatalities. a south florida man accused of threatening to carry out a pulse nightclub style attack is behind bars after being arrested on unrelated charges. police say craig junger became a top priority after they say he posted threatening messages on facebook aimed at gay residents in the wilton manors community of south florida. one post even references the pulse nightclub shooting in

so today pretty good round of showers and thunderstorms, 40% to 50%, just leftover moisture to tap into. but dry air up above on settle on top of us, beginning tomorrow so. the rain chances will begin to diminish the next few days. there's post tropical hermine, a big low churning up the seas, they will eventually get into rainfall as well across portions of the cape, southern new england and some gusty wi its time but eventually kick out of here through the week with winds rather gusty and they still have the tropical storm warnings along the coastline for today, winds probably around 35, 40 miles per hour with the gusts. not sustained. 30% probability of this it will feature across the winward islands, though if you're vacations there now not great. it's pouring on top of you but this has a low chance of developing though we'll watch

it will encounter difficult terrain for this time of year. boating forecast looks good. a light chop on the bay. 1 to 2-foot seas. extended forecast the next three days, rain chances between 40% and 50% today but dropping big time with the dry air limiting rain chances tuesday 20% to 30% coverage. that will technically be the case through most of the end of the week here so a lot of nice days coming up with temperatures approaching 90 degrees and the overnight lows as they should be in the mid- 70s. a jail in california is not changing its security protocol despite a shooting that left two officers wounded. officials say vong fang opened fire while waiting to visit someone at the fresno county jail saturday.

officers arrested him. still no word on why he opened fire. officials say he's a gang member who spent 16 years in prison for sex offenses. the sheriff's office spokesman says the jail's executive staff is now reviewing the incident. police in ohio caught a suspected thief at a labor day weekend cookout. they say jose diaz jr. went a little too far to get to the party. they sadieas stole an ambulance which was parked at a gas station and drove it to the cookout. he parked it in the ambulance had had a gps tracker, state highway patrol and local police followed it to the home. officers went into the yard with guns drawn and there were kids nearby, no one was hurt though and the suspect surrendered peacefully. strangest part. the hosts of the cookout say they don't know diaz. the maker of gatorade has come out with an organic version of the neon colored sports drink. pepsi co announced it will be

y23ppy yy6y it was a chaotic scene in philadelphia over the weekend. police had to clear more than 1,000 people off a stage during a concert on saturday. it happened at the budweiser made in america festival. police say a performer encouraged the crowd to climb on to the stage and it quickly got out of hand. police eventually cleared the crowd and no one was hurt. or even arrested. take a look at these lines. people had to wait for at least an hour just to get into zion

the 100th anniversary of the national parks brought out all these people. the big crowds overwhelmed the shuttle buses the park uses. also ran out of space in the parking lots. many visitors though weren't deterred, some traveling from all over the country to visit. >> labor day weekend, the 100th year they are celebrating. if they don't get a crowd now they will never get a crowd. >> there are more peop canyon. >> park officials already held public meetings this year about overcrowding. almost 4 million people visited between march and november. park services considering making people reserve a spot in the park but reluctant to do anything that would limit access. coming up -- the water is over the roads and even inside homes along the anclote river but some families in pasco county are refusing to leave. >> a former pasco county deputy is accused of driving through a
