multiple times in a high intensity drug trafficking neighborhood. >> we could not see into the vehicle at all. as the officers and the deputy walked up to the car, he started shooting and when he started shooting, we started shooting. >> reporter: he spent a year and a half in prison for battery and assault with a deadly weapon. the drug task force believed he was trafficking methamphetamines when they pulled him over here sheriffs say the -- pulled him over. sheriffs say they are thankful to god that officers are not hurt. we're very fortunate.

think we may see a few more showers pop up. today, anywhere south of i-4. a few widely scattered showers. starting off in the low to mid 70s and ending up in the low 90s so we still have the afternoon heat but that morning change is usually our first sign that some fall weather is right around the corner. we have to deal with some hot weather until then least heading in the right direction. here is where you will notice the change. look at the dew point's. lower 60s. in the summertime, in the middle of the summer, we see dew point of 76, 77. you see this, that is a nice change. tomorrow morning will be warm but not nearly as muggy. pretty nice. and temperatures starting warm right back up into the lower 90s later on in the day. outside right now, tampa at 82

both in the low 80s. decent rain this afternoon and this evening down across the southern counties and that is kind of a sign of things to come. today, it is here. tomorrow, it will be here and other weekend, there was a chance of a slightly better elevated risk of storms but in terms of coverage, it will not be all that impressive. remember, it looked like the sierra out here with water vapor covered in you can see have the moisture is coming in from the south and that is where the rains were today. tomorrow, that is going to be a little more to the north and by the weekend, it covers the rest of our viewing area but i still only have rain chances of 30 or 40% through the weekend. nice sleeping weather tonight. tomorrow, warm but dry. still pleasant. the afternoon,

not a big deal. most of our viewing area, canalis, hillsboro, totally dry tomorrow but then, things begin to change by the weekend. do not have to worry about changing of plans. this kind of a setup makes it really easy to plan your day because most of the afternoon will be dry and any rain we get will not be unti o'clock. our typical summer pattern. you get the wind and it makes it a lot easier to make those weekend plans. this would also be saturday and sunday and each day, just a touch more moisture to work with so a slightly better chance of storms later on. by friday night, the rains begin to linger and this gives you an idea of what the weekend is going to be like. a typical summer weekend as we head into the end of the rainy
