weather. >> how are you doing, everyone. pretty quiet weather north of i- 4. south of i-4, especially sarasota and manatee county, just like yesterday, scattered showers out there. as they move off shore, they will turn into a couple of up isolated showers. closer to the tampa metro area over to st. pete and north, t hot. it's already hot with temperatures in 90s. you hit 93 today in tampa. 91 in lakeland. 95 in sarasota. summer has only got another week to go and we're talking about record-breaking heat across part of the area. this evening, partly cloudy skies. as i said, the showers are down south. to change as we see some of the rains getting closer to the off to the north as well. en partly cloudy overnight. not as cool or d tomorrow morning. i'll let you know if that is

coming up. >> thank you, denis. we move to democracy 2016 tonight. putting political ads to the truing test, to help you make informed decisions about your vote. the ad war is heating up between these two, marco rubio and patrick murphy. who is telling the truth? here is what i found out. >> marco. marco. >> it's not a game when our senator doesn't show up. >> attack on marco rubio. it claims marco rubio has the worst attendance of any senator in more than 50 years. stop tape. is that true? here is what i confirmed. i pulled his voting records from gov track, an independent organization and it says that rubio has missed only three votes since he dropped out of the presidential race. the context is key here. during the year he was running though these records show that rubio in fact had one of the

anything that develops over the southern counties will continue to move from east to west. in the last couple of minutes, we noticed a couple of lightning strikes in eastern sarasota county. otherwise most of tonight will be dry. most of the weekend will be dry. although better chance of scattered storms across our northern counties as well starting saturday and into sunday. but definitely not a big deal. and no need to worry about canceling in i weekend plans. but i think that the best time will be earlier in the day when you're guaranteed having dry conditions. low 90s across much of the area. after a high of 89 in st. pete. 91 in lakeland. 95 the high today in sarasota. tampa right now is sunny and it's at that afternoon high of 93 degrees. the humidity is still tolerable at 49%. the dew point back in the 70 range. yesterday we had the dew points in the 60s. that was a breath of fresh air.

what mother nature does with us. it gives us a day of dry air and then the humidity returns. it hit 93. 90 is about right. we almost hit a record today. sarasota tied one at 95 degrees. 89 right now in saint pete. humidity 61%. as i said, sarasota, sunny and 94 right now. the winds are calm. satellite, no changes. looks identical to this time yesterday. the mornings will be dry. most of the afternoon will after 4:00. i think tomorrow we see the dry air retreat a bit. and some of the moisture returns this way. it won't be a problem tonight or most of tomorrow. i think by late tomorrow, not so much in the morning, but in the afternoon hours, we begin to see a little bit better chance of showers. now, it's always an issue for high school football games on friday evening. still i think we look good. i think by 9:30, 10:00, anything that pops will be off

saturday and again on sunday. you can see it is stacking along the sea breeze. i think by the weekend we're back to normal meaning sunshine most of the day and the rain that develops will be later on in the afternoon or evening. overall, rainfall totals unimpressive. we look good. you can make the weekend plans now. high temperatures, you may want to be in air-conditioning. we will be back in the low to mid 90s. with the higher humidity, it will feel closer to 100. nowhere near fall though the calendar says we're ten days away. water temperature is 84 degrees. uv index will be an 11 on friday. there are your upcoming tides. hour by hour forecast, we cool down into the upper 70s. not nearly as pleasurable as it was earlier on in the week. rain chances 30 to 40% through
