a bed bug problem so bad, one student forced to sleep in her car. a problem sure to make your skin crawl. >> a usf student coming to us to complain about bed bug inif he is station. >> live outside the apartment complex where this is happening. these tenants have the marks to prove it. >> reporter: that's right. andrea wright moved into the homes here two and a ago and it didn't take long before she was waking up every day with large well ps all over her body. it was due to bed bugs and lotds of them. she doesn't go anywhere with rubbing alcohol to protect herself and says the conditions are so bad inside the apartment she's been forced to live on the street.

it's happening now and it's getting heated and confrontational. one person already arrested. >> we have seen it escalating. we want to get to marisela burgos live at the scene. >> reporter: we have the protestors standing on north 10th street at the intersection and there's a line of police road. they're standing along the street and sidewalk and they're saying look, we just want to get past this intersection and continue marching here for justice and we want to stay on the sidewalk. they're actually kind of negotiating with people in charge with tampa police so i'm not sure at this point whether they're going to let them through or not.

if you're walking on to the street it could cause traffic issues and concerns for safety of not only the protestors but of people driving through the ebor and it got heat when had the protests dumped over to the side trying to get through. they had to move that line down and there was one person that i i'm not sure at this point what she's charged with but they're not moving. originally about 20 or 30 minutes ago they were standing in front of the hillsborough county sheriff iefs. he wanted answers in regard to the investigation. again the deputy caleb johnson and deputy involved shooting. as you know back in august 30th

him in a month long investigation and they say riggins was selling illegal narcotics to him. they are wanting answers and they said they don't know what's going on with that investigation and that deputy is still on administrative leave but they feel they're at a loss and they want someone from the hillsborough county sheriff's office to talk to them them know about the investigation. out here they're having trouble with police trying to get through. as oon as we get more information we'll bring those back to you guys. the protestors are stopped here at 8th avenue and north 19th street. we'll keep watching that. thank you. a check now with dennis and

it was up to 94 in tampa. what are you seeing? >> more than that. we're now at a record high. we tied a record today in tampa believe it or not. pretty impressive heat around the area and feels like temperatures over 100 degrees. a couple days ago we had lower dew points and drier air and now all the sudden it's changed. there's showers out there and one lightning tick northern polk zoom in on the areas north west of polk city where the only lightning strike is now. manatee county picking up some decent rains. these are quick movers though so if you get caught in a shower it will only last 15 or 20 minutes in the immediate area. everything is moving east to west so whether it's the concert at the amphitheater and high school football, a lot of games

quick shower but lightning is not much of an issue. mostly just an isolated shower or two and things improve by 7:00 or 7:30 tonight. temperatures still in the low 90s. the heat is on. tampa hit 95 in 95 in sarasota as well. so longing at the rest of the this evening partly cloudy skies waking up to clear conditions but not nearly as cool or pleasant tomorrow morning or again for the next seven days. the definitely not going anywhere. look for mild conditions and waking up the temperatures in the upper 70s under clear skies. tampa at 90 degrees down from the high of 95. the dew .74 and winds out of the southwest off the gulf at eight miles per hour. there it is, tied a record that's been standing for a long time since 1948. normal is 90 so five degrees above normal which is always interesting.

only five degrees apart. that's how steady temperatures are in the bay area this time of year. sunny in st. pete. 91 degrees. the winds are light. sarasota 95 degrees. winds out of the east and staying that way all weekend and into early next week. the only change is each day maybe a little more moisture out there meaning a slightly better chance of showers but i'm telling you, at this point, odds are in your favor. you won't see tomorrow or sunday. anything that does pop is late afternoon between 4:00 and 8:00 and then you're home free. sunday same thing. maybe a few more showers because we start to see more moisture. i think that trend continues into next week. overall, this is the long range gfs for the next couple of weeks. stays quiet across the area even though the tropics are heating up. very high probability this

this only a 10% chance and it's going to fizzle. this we have been tracking off of africa for the lastdels are s continuing west away from us even if it were to become a depression. that's unlikely and doesn't appear to have much of an impact on the areas flooded so that's good news for pasco and citrus county. east winds at five to ten knots and water 84 degrees. rain chances 30% over the next couple of days. monday up to 40% and middle of next week a slug of moisture bumps up rain chances to solid 50%. abc action news at 5:30

shooting death of an unarmed man. marisela burgos is live for us tonight following the stand off. what's going on out there right now? >>reporter: it's hard to hear you but we're standing on north 19th street. behind me you see a line of tampa police officers blocking east palm avenue and some protests here that want their voices heard and are demanding justice and answers actually from the hillsborough county sheriff's office recording riggins deputy involved shooting that happened back august 30th. the swat team with the hillsborough county sheriff's office found riggins in a bedroom. the deputy felt threatened when riggins appeared to reach for his waistband so there's protestors out here wanting answers and details about the
