a home on monroe lane in lake hamilton. the suspects armed with guns stole from the victim and ran away. if you have any information, contact the polk county sheriff's office. also tonight an update on the case of a football coach involved in a sex scandal. dixon will be allowed to work at the school. an investigation showed that dixon failed to properly supervise kids after two dozen football players were caught on camera having year-old. he cannot serve as the team's head coach. i want you to take i look. this is newly released body camera video showing orlando police taking down 40-year-old murder suspect jason rower. accused of breaking into a woman's house and cutting her throat back in may. this is rower seen barely clothed trying to make a run for it. but is cornered by officers and police dogs. they struggle using two stun

he was is now in jail on murder charges. also today, testimony began for the man accused of shooting at george zimmerman. matthew fired shots during a traffic incident last year. zimmerman says he was driving when he got behind him yelled and fired his gun, leaving a bullet hole in the window. during the testimony, matt's attorney says that zimmerman pulled a gun on high pressure first. police believe that he who acquitted in the shooting three years ago. wells fargo in damage control. the bank is eliminating sales goals for the retail bankers. that is meant to regain customer trust after workers were opening up bank accounts without customer's knowledge and getting hit with fees. wells fargo will refund $5 million to customers. good news for those who buy tickets online to sports event.

weekend. i'm look ahead to the weekend. why not. a lot of clouds out there right now. fall has -- summer has about a week left until fall arrives. it doesn't feel like fall yet. the normal highs dropped down to 89. you're seeing the afternoon storms. but that is not because of our typical summer pattern. that is because of, well, this. we have been tracking this off of the coast of africa. two weeks ago. and it ha it is, go figure, finally getting its act together around daytona. there was an outside chance that they were going to call this a depression and issue tropical storm watches for part of the east coast. they didn't do it at 5:00. they could do it at 11:00. be sure to check us out at 11:00. if the advisory comes out it would be five minutes before 11:00. the moisture extends across the state. all of that will be lifting

moisture continues across the area. mid-80s in sarasota a you look at the satellite. check it out. i'm going to run this again. look at the spin. see that right there? winds of 30 to 35 miles per hour. band being features. it could easily be called a tropical depression. through tonight, we see the moisture streaming in from the gulf. while not everybody is going to see heavy rain tomorrow, i definite today. it will be closer to us too. because the plume will go across the state and could be a tropical depression or a tropical storm. officially hurricane center saying a 40% chance this may develop into a named system or depression in the next 24 to 48 hours. either way decent rainfall totals across the area. some areas with red, some with green. most everybody will get rain.

>> cara is live in tampa. >> reporter: you're out here at the airport and hit the app and waiting for a ride to pick you up. you hope that the driver that pulls up will be safe and they're not a criminal. it turns out that getting a finger print check on the driver might not the gold standard of safety. living and working in downtown tampa means you knower and lyft are a way of life for morrison. >> it makes my line fundamentally easier. i have not owned a kay car in five years. i never want to have another one. >> reporter: when he takes a ride, morrison feels completely safe. >> i feel safer in an uber or lyft car than a taxi cab. >> reporter: but the transportation commission is worried that you knower and lyft are not doing enough to make sure that drivers are safe. they are insisting on background checks with finger printing, something that the ride shares don't want to do.
