good morning on this wednesday. if you went to bed early this may be a surprise -- we have a tropical storm, julia nearby. in fact over jacksonville now. not the most potent but as usually the case it's already a big rainmaker. we were tracking this on the show yesrd organized tropical wave i've ever seen. yes, it certainly was and quickly we went from 10% probability to a tropical storm. why you always have to check back with us. things can change in the tropics quickly. 40 mile-per-hour sustained winds. not expecting the advisory to change much. the center is over land. needs to be over water to get going as far as wind but it's going to be a rainmaker for the southeast. on the back side for us, that's important because we have moisture coming from the gulf.

going to be a prolific rainmaker, no question, with upwards of 6 plus inches. a good half-foot there along coastal areas. you see here still left over moisture. that is streaming in from southwest to northeast. so we're raining. it's going to be a wet commute for folks across the coast. manatee, sarasota, if you're watching from there, even a little further north as well. we widen out the shot and you can see more showers and a few embedded thund day. that will be the theme today. mostly cloudy, on and off rain showers, at times will be heavy. it's what we have to look forward to before we dry out heading into the latter part of the week. that tropical moisture with us for today, a little tomorrow. rain chances at 50%. and then we'll see lower rain chances between 30% and 40% heading in to friday and in time for the weekend. there goes the rainfall, continues to move from southwest to northeast.
