people in the path of the storm are being told to stay off the roads and steer clear of any flooded areas. we want to check in now with ivan. >> julia is not holding on all that much. that's the problem when we get the tropical storms that don't move. the rain associated with julia displays to the east so they are catching a break across the carolinas. winds are barely a tropical storm force, right? you go down one tick and we're talking about a td but really the for them as it meanders for the next few days. what it does is puts tropical moisture in place, which you can feel outside and you can see with showers developing along the coast and pushing inland as afternoon thunderstorms. temps right now are in the upper 70s to lower 80s. with the calm wind, it's going to be another steamer of a day.

owner to help pay for the vet bill. the suspected drug dealer is now facing charges. this morning, the atlanta police department is investigating one of their own after an offduty officer is involved in a deadly car crash. the off-duty officer killed his passenger and is recovering in a hospital. his dad is the assistant police chief. scary situation in a south florida wal-mart. an employee fatally shot a would-be robber in the parking lot. police say an armed man approached that employee who was sitting in his car in the parking lot. the two started fighting. that's when the employee shot the man. >> i'm sorry to hear what happened to the victim, but my brother works hard to take care of him and his child at the end of the day. >> that's the victim's system or the shooter's sister, rather. the police believe the shooting
