sending contaminated water gushing into the aquifer. >> we're being told you can't see the bottom. it was discovered august 27th in one of the containment ponds out there. so 215 million gallons of contaminated water used to process fertilizer has drained into that hole. >> now, the recovery well has been set up and right now is pumping contaminated water out of the aquifer and back into the plant. the to complete. >> we are talking with environmental protection every, single day. they've been out here. >> they have relied on extensive wells surrounding the plant. >> the wells have not detected any additional contaminants into the ground water which means the pump is now working. turning to pinellas county where drinking turned deadly

with his friend. the two were drinking together when they got into a violent fight. witnesses say wilson punched darling in the head six or seven times. when police got there, darling was on the ground. he was pronounced dead at the scene. wilson is now charged with one count of second-degree murder. new information this morning on the ex-convict arrested pore setting fire to a for the -- for setting fire to a fort pierce mosque. the suspect is admitting to the crime. 32-year-old officials he was embarrassed and never intended to hurt anyone. the mosque was the same one the pulse nightclub shooter attended. shriver is being held without bail. seven young children in south florida had one scary ride to school. take a look right here.

yesterday. all seven children on board were wearing seat belts and were not hurt. both drivers had to be taken to the hospital with injuries. police say the truck driver was trying to make a left turn when the bus hit him. a miracle at the marina. if not for his dog, this man says he wouldn't be alive today. he slipped off his boat, hit his head and fell face first into the water money he was unconscious. at the marina where he is a dock master this is where it happened. the only witness bay. the dog barked for nearly 20 minutes until somebody realized there was a problem and saw shorter floating face down in the water. >> it was dark. i actually thought it was a baby manatee or something. >> of course we weren't expecting it to be eddie in the river face down. >> reporter: shorter doesn't remember anything except wayneing up in the hospital the next morning. he says he doesn't have any permanent damage despite not having a pulse for several minutes. just like many of us,

a north carolina man finds himself in the middle of a very important rescue mission. he was on his way to work when he was flagged down by a sheriff's deputy. jason was driving down the road near wilmington when he saw the officer waving frantically at him. he asked if he had bolt cutters in his work truck. he didn't, but he did have a saw. so the deputy asked him to bring it into the woods. he followed the deputy to a tree where a 6-year-old girl was tied up with padlock. she had been missing since the night before. >> the involvement of the rescue, fbi and everybody out there, they are the ones who rescued that little girl. god bless them. all i had was a simple tool on the truck they needed. >> stephanie is in good condition in the hospital. a convicted sex offender who was released from prison a few years ago has been charged with

horrific case of this little girl found dead and dismembered in albuquerque, new mexico. police now say her mother is facing charges for arranging to have men she met online rape her 10-year-old daughter. michelle martins and two men are charged with the child's brutal murder. police in pennsylvania are offering $10,000 for anybody who can help put the suspects involved in several gun shop break-s in behind bars. in is surveillance from one store hit three weeks. the video shows a man throwing gun barrels like spears at a display case trying to access handguns. the owner says in one of the break-s in, the suspect got in through the roof. police say the stolen guns are typically sold on the streets and used to commit other crimes. in case you missed it, there it is, the full harvest moon. won't see that again until next summer. this is our last full summer. you have another take tonight

it is coming up right now on 15 minutes after 6:00. new this morning, a federal lawsuit shows lyft has overcharged new york city riders. the lawsuit is seeking nearly $60 million in damages. authorities say lyft charged passengers the higher cash rate instead of the e-z pass rate for tolls. the new york taxi and limousine z pass rate should be charged. so far, though, lyft is not commenting. take a look at this dramatic video. apparently a school bus drive ebb was tired of waiting -- the school bus driver was tired of waiting behind a slow moving fed ex truck. the truck driver also moved over to block that pass. >> a second or two later when

in the area be concerned? >> reporter: well, dan, at this point, the company is stressing this morning that nobody in this immediate vicinity is in any sort of danger. none of the homeowners here. that is good news to report. this problem was discovered after a routine inspection as you guys mentioned. this is amazing video we've been look a.ing at this morning -- looking at this morning. the aerial view gives you a great view of how huge the sinkhole is. the company says they found out about this the august. 215 million gallons of contaminated water used to process fertilizer has drained into that sinkhole. >> we act rated a recovery well so that we can capture any water that has gone down the hole. >> reporter: the company says the entire process to pump out the contaminated water could possibly take months.
