accused of planting bombs in new york and new jersey now in custody. investigation into his motives kicks into high gear. >> ahmad rahami is held on $5.2 million bail. diane gallagher shows us the latest on the investigation on into rahami acted alone. >> reporter: with the new york city and seaside park, new jersey, bomb attack suspect in custody new questions now emerging. authorities say they want to know ahmad rahami's motive and whether the 28-year-old was taken into custody monday after nypd and fbi asked the public for help in finding him. rahami was detained a few hours later when a bar owner in linden, new jersey spotted him and alerted authorities. >> i saw his face, then he moved his hoodie, shocked me because i was watching cnn on my laptop. and you have his picture on

have acted alone. tahir adon, sources say stabbed four people before efforts shot dead by a police officer. investigators are still working to confirm if adon was working with isis. all 10 people injured in the attack have been released from the hospital. should 9:03 , 9:03. police in france make eight new arrests in connection with the bastille truck attack that left 86 people dead. prosecutors say the suspects arli in the attack. the eight men are tunisian and french. islamic state group claimed responsibility for the july 14th attack where a truck plowed into a popular promenade in nice war crowd gathered to watch fireworks. a detective plans to meet with people in land o' lakes today to give more information about the suspicious package found in the area. someone found it nearly two weeks ago near the intersection of collier parkway and roderick drive. that intersection was blocked for hours as several agencies investigated.

not the highest but if you get rainfall it will be on the heavier side because of the air mass working with. futurecast you see it transitioning and pushing east. notice with that along the coast by the evening, janelle martinez, i think we're in pretty good shape. it will be a wet commute for inland counties, then the opposite, drier along the coast which right now is a little wet. the roads are dry now. that is good. unless you're on i-4, a major traffic jam on i-4 westbound heading into tampa. a crash is blocking lanes but look at the backup we're seeing here on i-4 around branch forbes road. also seeing a little delay eastbound as well with these cars stopping or at least pausing to look. check out drive times on i-4, 36 minutes from county line road to downtown. >> you can see the backup all the way to alexander.

tampa. back to you. today we get a look at the future of downtown tampa. the plans for the channelside district around amalie arena finally being unveiled. >> reporter adam winer joins us with a preview. >> a meeting is going over the nearly $2 billion worth of renovation plans they have for this area. when they are done this neighborhood is going to be almost unrecognizable. we got a preview of what is in store. they are planning a lot retail space, a big new hotel. a big new parking garage for amalie arena. and a grocery store. and they are going to be knocking down a restaurant and putting up an office building. that surrounding amalie arena and the new usf college of medicine which is going to be built here as well groundbreaking is not until late 2017 but in the meantime there's an impact.

sewage problem this afternoon at usf st. pete. this morning as mosaic crews work to contain the sinkhole, bradley junction is having flashbacks of water contamination there decades ago. luther hamilton remembers when the digging started 250 feet from his front yard. he says imc-agrico owned the mine and most of the surrounding he said dust and odors filled his home and his water turned brown. >> they messed up our wells with the mining. >> imc denied contaminating the local wells but in 1995 "u.s. news & world report" shows how the company spent more than $1 million digging deeper wells for people there. also now the fertilizer plant is giving polk county commissioners an update on how

ryan raish is there and will update us as soon as possible. a polk county softball coach bonded out of jail accused from stealing from her own team. kaelin mancuso is softball, volleyball and pe teacher in the kathleen high school in lakeland. she's accused of forging $700 worth of checks and that she used whiteouts to change the names on the checks to her name. then using her phone to make mobile deposits in her personal account. in items for the team and didn't know she was doing anything wrong. gas prices across the south go dry. the latest to see this after a breakdown after the break. >> i'll never forget him. >> then a cafeteria worker takes a stand against what she calls lunch shaming.

coming up at 9:13 -- an update on the gas pipeline leak we told but yesterday. georgia's governor declaring a state of emergency. allowing fuel truck drivers to work longer than normal hours. stations in georgia and north carolina joining three other states seeing gas shortages due to the leaky pipeline. officials are urging drivers not to fill up unless they really need to. gas prices have spiked 20 cents in colonial pipeline says it will have to bypass around that leak but they have it in place by the end of the week and fuel supplies should be back to normal soon after. speaking of gasoline -- something every driver needs to hear about. aaa says you're wasting money buying premium when your car doesn't require it. aaa says drivers who think they are giving their car a treat by occasionally filling one 93 octane are only wasting money. premium doesn't improve a car's

used in cars that require mid- grade or premium gas. a doorbell camera captures a burglar moments before he breaks into a texas home. that same camera records him as he runs away with a stolen purse and wallet. look at the video of the criminal's face. it couldn't be clearer. the homeowner says he broke into her home early yesterday morning, she says she heard him enter the house and immediately got her husband. >> got taking him out. >> police say the thief got in through an unlocked window. hoping someone will recognize the man in the video and help authorities make an arrest. a washington state school district is investigating after a student was bullied with mean messages on a school-issued on- line app. that app is supposed to be a way for teachers to grade their students on a daily basis but

"the wall street journal" is reporting that k-mart plans to close another 64 stores
