bilingual is scheduled to visit a south orlando neighborhood with a growing puerto rican population. hillary clinton will make her first post debate appearance in north carolina this afternoon, a swing state crucial to whipping the white house. she'll be at a community college in raleigh. she'll be back in florida on friday. governor rick scott will get a firsthand look at the mosaic sinkhole today. this comes a day after making change to pollution notification laws forcing companies to tell neighbors about accidents earlier. today the governor will get a briefing on how the company plans to do a better job. dep and mosaic say they are still successfully collecting and containing that contaminated water from the aquifer. right now 125 tests of nearby wells have been completed, over 300 tests still scheduled. the miami marlins paid a special emotional tribute to

night. fernandez died in eight booing accident over the weekend. fernandez died in a boating accident over the weekend. the crowd applauds. the team all wearing fernandez' number 16 gathered around the mound to honor the late pitcher. fernandez graduated from high school in tampa. he just announced days before his death his girlfriend pregnant. he and two friends died sunday after crashing into a jetty near miami beach. a former verizon wireless technician in alabama is accused of selling customers' confidential information. this happened between 2009 and 2014. he allegedly used the company eights computers to obtain customers' private call records as well as data showing where the phones were and then selling that information to an unnamed private investigator. court records don't say how many customer records were sold

on car insurance a good driving record is not all you have to worry about. a new study suggests income plays a more important role. it shows companies loser lower premiums to affluent drivers with accidents or violations than drivers with a clean record who have a moderate income. the study says it happens 70% of the time. a trade group main danes that income is not a factor. maintains. jetblue adding a new route between los angeles and orlando. the airline will fly a daily round cities beginning january 5th. with the new route the airline adds to its presence in orlando where it now flies non-stop to more than two dozen destinations. a new study says high school students not getting enough exercise. in a study published in pediatrics researchers followed 50010th graders 10 years and found fewer than 9% were

good tuesday morning. thank you for joining us on abc. shay ryan in for ivan, with a look at the forecast. 5:43 now. hillsborough schools are holding the first of three transportation town hall meetings tonight and hope all transportation employees attend. tonight's meeting is 6:00 at middleton high school. and there will also be meetings next month. citrus county animal lovers demanding changes be made at the county's animal shelter. they claim healthy dogs and

one was featured as a pet of the week recently. the citrus county commissioners are set to discuss how the shelter conducts euthanasia this afternoon. animal advocates plan to protest in front of the courthouse before speaking at the county commission meeting. now to a canine jail break in california caught on camera. when alarms went off earlier this month at the apple valley animal shelter workers worried someone was breaking in, when staff looked at the surveillance video they saw this gal acquired german shepherd breaking out. she not only imagined to get out of the kennel but got through three doors including one with a hand that will had to be turned. ginger eventually found and not far from her previous home. >> one smart dog. as far as the weather is concerned, this is great weather if you do need to walk your dog this morning. on a leash.

we had showers overnight, a few thunderstorms close tomoon child and into the tarpon springs area. honeymoon island. but we're dry now. good time for a bike ride or walk. by noon i do think we'll start to see showers and storms bubbling up but you can see 8:00 in the morning nice and dry still. some of the previous models showing an isolated shower or two along the coastline part of the day. now they are pulling back on that. by noon we start to see that developing. then moving inland through the afternoon where they become more widespread and a little stronger. and away from the coastline there at least through sunset. so we're looking at hit or miss showers and storms, off and on through the day. most moving from west-to-east. about 30% coverage overall. tomorrow morning we start to see the showers again setting up across the coastline. not real strong, pretty

because of that west-to-east flow. looking at the tropics. we've got this tropical wave, i'm keeping a close eye on it because of the general direction that it is headed in. it may develop into a numbered or named storm. it would be matthew, over the next day or so. the general movement is to the west northwest and then as it gets around the dominican republic and haiti it is likely to make a direction change and head off to the north. if that happens it looks like we'll be in the clear but if it doesn't and it head farther west then we may have concerns with this storm, potentially impacting our state. so again we'll keep a close eye on it but at this time it's too early to tell. we should know more by the end of the week or into the weekend. over the next couple of days, typical weather trend. highs near 90 degrees, we're going to see a decent. a showers and storms through the afternoons with that slight chance for a coastal shower early in the day. by thursday though we have a cool front that is approaching

going to see some drier air settling in. it will be most noticeable in the mornings with temperatures in the low 70s. lower humidity through the day allowing for fewer showers and storms in the afternoons. this weekend is looking beautiful. starting off saturday morning at 71 degrees and then topping out at 86 again afternoons are still going to be hot and steamy, but not as steam which as what we've had the several months. it's looking great on the roads. matt behind the wheel of the live drive cam, on the howard frankland bridge where traffic starting to pick up just a little bit but you're still looking at just six minutes to get across the howard frankland, a clear ride across the sunshine skyway and the gandy and courtney campbell also looking good this morning. look outside and this is i-75 around state road 60 so this is in the brandon area. all the major roads in your

5:52. there's a slight chance of a shower or storm in the first half of the day closer to the coastline. most of the storms won't be bubbling up until right about noon and all areas will have a chance of rain at that point. the showers and storms will be moving inland through the afternoon so the morning commute more likely to be affected along the i-75 corridor than what we're going to have for the morning drive. in fact now all roads are dry. dan? back to you. 5:53. now an unpleasant surprise for you, for some on the beaches. red tide bloom spreading hitting manatee and sarasota counties especially hard. the algae is killing hundreds of fish and plans you have to hit the beach. on anna maria island the stench is gagging beach goers. it's safe to swim but you don't want to touch the dead fish. if you have trouble breathing you also want to stay away. fish and wildlife officials say a recent red tide took a full
