wind, but the heavy rainfall. you can see clusters of thunderstorms out i have of the senate already impacting with haiti. they are going to be talking a couple of feet of rainfall. that rain is going to fall down the hillside and cause some mudslides. the center continues moving north very slowly, that is another reason we are expecting a lot of heavy rain. the forecast still has it heading north as a major hurricane jamaica, and eastern cuba where the very tip of the island could be seeing rainfall. and then it emerges into the bahamas. for us the main impact would be gusty wind. right now if everything holds together and the storm stays well to our east, which is what the models are showing. i think we are in pretty good

effects. middle to upper 70s with clear skies. i think we are going to be game for that again today because of an easterly flow. you are off to work okay by lunchtime, but it is late in the day that we are looking for torrential downpours and frequent lightning. we will talk more about that you and just a couple minutes. hurricane matthew is now barreling into jamaica, haiti, and cuba with winds of 130 130 miles per hour. matthew will bring devastating floods and storms surges to haiti, and emergency officials are worried that people are not prepared. in haiti many residents did not know about the storm. in one neighborhood mandatory evacuation orders show some are not leaving.

>>reporter: fema is telling us there are grants, low interest loans for home repairs, and this is for homeowners and renters. again, if you need help you have to register and the best way is to go online at www.disasterassistance.gov. today we should get a better idea of how newly approved funding will be used. senior officials with the us department of health and human services will give us an update this afternoon. congress passed $1.1 billion to prevent the virus from spreading. we're still waiting to see how much will come to florida. we are learning preliminary testing suggest that there are still infected mosquitoes in

starting today, highlands county officials will spread to kill mosquitoes that carry the virus. officials say spring will be done every day until friday between dusk and don. the city's target will be a ballpark, sebring, and lake placid. time is up or several people still living at the mostly hotel. anyone not gone by 8 am will be escorted off the property by sheriff deputies. for years the motel has been home -- home for the homeless and struggling families. the new owners want to demolish the property, forcing these people out. at best check 25 out of the 300 people who live there still need to move out. some have gone to another motel down the road or to a shelter. the homeless director says the goal is to keep the families off the streets. >> we have made arrangements for a lot of them. there are people who have not

know what their story is. we have left notes on every door in about it. those are the ones that i concerned about. >> the motel has been around since the 40s. at one point it was a popular tourist spot. over the last 15 years many started using the hotel as a permanent home. we will have more coming up at 6:30 am. more bad news for allegiant airlines, passengers and a reason why are upset were diverted to syracuse. the customers told our sister station that passengers were told the airline was not providing buses and that they were responsible for getting themselves from syracuse to niagara falls. airline officials say the weather was the blame for the diversion and it is up to the pilot to decide how to operate the aircraft. we reached out for comment have not heard back. still to come, caught in the crosswinds, a plane misses his landing after being tossed around. the reason this is common.

widespread. futurecast shows the storm spiraling east and eventually heading towards the coast. as they do that is when we're talking the potential for tropical downpours and frequent lightning. basically, heavy rain will be an issue tonight. heading into this evening we will clear out. let's talk about our major hurricane, matthew. look at the major impact with haiti. they have to really bad down the hatch as this thing comes north. the forecast track has shifted further to the east, which is a disaster for haiti. they will not only get the rain, but the wind as well. they are just not ready for that. it is difficult to be prepare for a major hurricane, let alone folks who are still intense. and then it makes landfall.

the device authorities are blaming. we are closely tracking hurricane matthew. the areas that could get hit the hardest. ivan has been following the storm's path and we will start with whether this morning. >> still looking at a major hurricane in matthew. notice the movement, and set of northwest it will be headed to the north. but also the speed and 6 per hour. we're thinking this is going to be devastating for haiti. it is already raining there and the storm as well to the south. it will continue moving through eastern cuba, haiti, jamaica, and eventually emerging into the bahamas heading into the middle part of the week and impacting with us indirectly

wind. that will be about it if this holds as far as our track. we will eventually have impacts into the weekend. for us today it is going to be the rain like yesterday with an easterly flow and plenty of moisture available. we will watch that closely as temperatures climb up to the upper 80s later on this afternoon. i think we will have rain chances at 60%. we have a car fire northbound to 75. you can see the smoke. i was seeing a lot of heavy flames. it looks like firefighters were able to put those flames out in the northbound lanes. it looks like it is taking up the outside lane along with the shoulder. i just checked the average speed right about it the ninth. as you get down to the howard franklin. we are going to keep an eye on this and keep you posted.

right now, time is running out for family still living in a condemned st. petersburg motel. if they are still there in an hour and a half deputies will escort them off of the property. we have been updating you on the mostly motel for months now. >>reporter: we are hearing there are still some families inside. last night our crew counted about 20 people this property. take a look, you can see boarded up doors and windows showing that a lot of people are already gone. at 7:30 am the shares -- the sheriff will be going door-to- door. the hard deadline for everyone to be out if 8 am. everyone has been evicted, the motel is in foreclosure and sold. the new owners say they plan to not down the building and
