numbers we have been giving you pretty much are the same. if you live in polk county or highlands county were sumter county you can expect winds of 55 to 65 miles per hour. that is the kind thing later tomorrow night into friday morning that you could see some damage. some trees could come down. nothing close to what will happen in the east coast but it is a possibility but those are warnings, the reason this watch was issued for the entire area is because the hurricane center notched the track along the coast of florida. that should come as no surprise that is what the models have been saying and what the forecast has been showing, so that should not make any change. this is let's say it goes more to the west than the bay area. that is not the forecast i don't believe it will be the forecast but it is better safe than story in case matthew decides to misbehave and go

coast, that boutht, those numbers k unty are closer to 60 or 70 or 80. again, if you live in polk county or highlands county, and if you live in sumter county this track will have a bigger impact on you than it would to the west, a lot of talk about a loop we have bigger fish to fry which is the current track of a major hurricane hitting florida late tonight into friday morning, rain a major issue on the east coast it will not be a major issue for our area. one last time tropical storm watches in effect this will be filled in by the weather service, tropical storm warnings from polk county, highlands county and sumter county meaning winds in the area between 55 and 65 miles per hour on friday morning even late tomorrow night and the possibility of higher winds

the event yesterday shows why that is important. reporting in riverview, clifton ch aiobc anews. now, the most accurate weather team in florida, abc action whether. good afternoon, looking outside along the gulf coast beautiful sunny skies a lot of sunshine today and tomorrow by late tomorrow night into friday all eyes turn to the east coast across the rest of the area, isolated showers popping up eastern polk counthrough hardy county moving west to afternoon into the evening, another hot today early october in the low 90s, 91land, 90 degrees tempo. tempo checking in mostly sunny skies 90 degrees, clearwater 90, saint pete 88 degrees with

about for the tropics but this evening and tomorrow for local weather we will be just fine, we will see a good deal of sunshine in the afternoon nothing more than scattered afternoon stormsorms as we have another warm on tomorrow in the 80s near 90 degrees. this evening look for partly cloudy skies, isolated showers by wake-up time tomorrow it will be dry, no worries whatsoever, a lot of folks dealing with the east coast through tomorrow morning the entire eastern side of the us should be okay, by the afternoon that will change. but not for us, thursday afternoon still looking at scattered storms across the afternoon building to the west, it could get breezy tomorrow afternoon, by tomorrow night and in through friday morning that is when we look at t storm vieastern seaboard. for us directly we are on the dry side of the storm, so
5:18 pm
will have bands coming through this is not a steady rain event, there will be heavy bands rotating through, winds gusting 30, 40 may be 60 miles per hour on the east side of the viewing area, polk county highlands county and then it pulls to the northern sections of the state by friday, let's look at the tropics in terms of what is going on in our neck of the woods and on the east coast wh extremely bad for tomorrow and again friday. they are bumping this up to category four right now it is category three, winds of 120 miles per hour, this is the track notice i believe this is where it will end up, the hurricane center slowly but surely has it moving west both models along the east coast of florida. i believe this will be the

west and it is tth we are in the tropical storm watch in the area in case it goes more west, the forecast for the area has not changed. nothing has changed. polk county will get nasty friday morning 40, 50 may be 60 miles per hour, down the road there is ultimately the talk of a loop and i could happen. days, we get through saturday and then worry about everything else. this is a closer view of the track the center based on the current track goes over the cape right over merritt island melbourne, northward through daytona into saint augustine and essentially curving southeast of jacksonville. you are talking 10 miles in either direction, at this point in time if the track goes more

of florida, if you have friends or family make sure they are taking this seriously. the problem there has never been a storm like this up the east coast of florida. ever. south florida has kind of been through this a lot of times, if you have family or friends or kids who go to school on the east coast you want them to get home. if that happens it has to otherwise it is too late. in terms of hurricane probability, notice the hurricane force winds right along the coast. that is the way it will play out, orlando or under hurricane warning winds of 80 to 90 miles per hour on friday, saturday it will pull away taking the weather with it, this is the probability of tropical storm force winds, this is the
5:21 pm
and match it up with the percentage of a probability you will have tropical storm force winds in your neighborhood. let's pick tampa, a 40% chance that you will have winds of 40 to 55 miles per hour in your area. it is less than a 50-50 chance. if you live to the east obviously much higher there will be tropical storm force winds in polk. things could happen is tropics maybe it will weaken a little bit maybe it turns it is possible. this track in my opinion seems likely to play out along the east coast give or take 30 miles in either direction and again if the eye makes it to i- 95, these consequences will be devastating.
