it was a little before 5 p.m. as soon as it happened, neighbors rushed over here to help. polk county deputies say five-year-old austin craford and his sister. phillip has just come home from work and saw a crowd of people standing on his driveway. he noticed austin on the ground and saw his family. >> but he got tired. i scooted him out of the way and supported the boy's neck and was doing cpr. >> crews rushed austin to lakeland regional health, where he died. >> my heart -- my heart -- my heartbreaks for them. they will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. if there's anything they need, they already know.

speed bumps and the speed lowered along this road. deputies have not said speed was a factor in this crash. they continue to investigate. at this point, they're saying this seems to be a tragic accident. abc action news. also, the man charged with kidnapping the four-year-old lakeland girl and man charged with killing a pastor's wife while driving drunk are both set to appear before a judge this afternoon. west wild hogs was expe ogs was arrested monday in tennessee. authorities issued an amber alert after four-year-old rebecca lewis disappeared from her home. she was reunited with her family tuesday. ryan was also scheduled to make a court appearance. he was driving drunk when he slammed his pickup truck in a lakeland house killing janet who was inside. after the crash, he tried to

independent tests on private wells show elevated levels of radioactivity. the company conducting the test says other elements found in the same tests point to a natural source of con tap naks and not the mosaic sink hole. officials say all of the other chemicals found in the water meet epa standards for safety. >> naturally-occurring levels of radioactivity in water in central florida can be found in many wells far, mosaic, and those are due to just the geology of central florida and, you know, the depth to which the well was drilled. >> the water, with the elevated radioactivity, is now undergoing a second phase of testing to help determine where that contamination is coming from. we are expecting those results some time next week. 25 minutes until 5:00 right now. in democracy 2016, donald trump is hitting back hard against reports he groped women.

because of a bomb scare after workers found a threatening note. the park remains closed, but guests were allowed to return to their hotel rooms. today, the park is going to announce the grand opening day for its newest theme parkland. lego ninjago world will feature an interactive ride where guests can blast fieshgs lightning, and ice with it will open some time next year. imagine hearing screaming coming from your daughter's bedroom, and when you open the door, there's a convicted sex offender there. police in california say a 12-year-old felt something touching her in bed. she opened her eyes, saw a naked man standing over here. the child banged on the wall to get her parents' attention. the family rushed in. that man started throwing punches. the girl's dad used pepper spray on the stranger. >> i always have it running

scared. >> investigators say to get into the girl's room, derrick fowler broke in through a back window. fowler has recently been released from prison and was on parole. tragic news out of new york where a six-week-old baby died after plunging down an elevator shaft. now, we are learning just how unsafe that building is. the mother pushed her stroller into the elevator, but the car wasn't there. the woman and her newborn fell eight stories. the mother survived the elevator car was apparently under repair, but residents say there were no warning signs posted. records show the building has 50 open code violations including four for elevators. in the past two years, tenants have complained at least 20 times about out of service elevators. 4:39. fighting isis. coming up at 5:00, how a group of american muslims is distinguishing themselves from a

wonder and dozens others. minnesota's gofrper declared yesterday prince tribute day in the state. prince died april 21st in his home outside minneapolis. 4:43. if you own a galaxy note 7 phone, samsung is making a big effort to keep you as a customer. the company will give gift cards to customer who is trade in their note 7 for a different samsung device. it's to encourage people to give up their risky note phones recalled because of a series of fires. customers who ask refund or decided to switch to another manufacturer 's phone will receive $25. samsung will not explain exactly what's causing those phones to catch fire. just unbelievable stuff. i have one from last year. it gets a little hot, i get a little nervous. tefr temps in the 70s. few upper 60s, still feels nice in the morning, but by the afternoon, we are going to warm things up, and eventually get in

of a pattern change headed into the weekend. we have a quick disturbance rolling through, especially on sunday. that'll bring us our highest rain chance we've seen in a while. not going to be astronomical, but about 30 to 40% is what i'm thinking here. still showing that flow off the water. you see a couple showers off the 95 corridor. eventually we'll get into some of that as well. mostly sunny, scattered clouds, and a few popup showers through the afternoon. certainly not any thunderstorms or anything that would last long wile or give us significant accumulation. the pattern with a bit of change. still got that east flow for saturday. that will promote more shower activity. more moisture to work with, by the way, the dry air on top of us eroding a bit. that will allow for about 30% chance of showers on saturday. by sunday, disturbance moves in. that's when the potential for 40% coverage is there, but also adding some lightning, which we haven't seen in a while, the potential for even thunderstorms. so we'll watch that. nothing severe. it's just been a while, as we've

88, though. that's unusual. normally about 85. it's a bit more humid so the 88 will feel like about 91. kind of what we had yesterday. mid 80s along the interior. we'll continue with these warm temperatures throughout the entire next 7 days. difference, again, weekend. 30% chance of showers saturday. few thunderstorms may develop on that sunday. then we dry out monday/tuesday. i normally don't put high rain chances 7 days out, but feeling pretty good about thursday. that would be that front coming in. that may cool us off big time heading into the following weekend. just get a quick check on the roads here, 4:46. no big issues to report at this point. we're looking at i-4 at nebraska. we may have an issue there. janelle is watching the interstate for -- oh, here we go. all right. this is a fatal crash that closed the ramp from i-4 to i-275 in downtown. again, janelle is watching this closely. she'll have more coming up at

right off the top. >> the most recent project aims to take all of this traffic off gandy boulevard in tampa, especially during rush hour, but moving to these elevated toll roads. >> when it's finished, the elevated lanes will run almost two miles from the foot of the bridge to the expressway, connecting brandon to u.s. 19 nonstop. >> it's terrible. it's bumper to bumper. >> business owners worry the construction traffic will keep customers away entirely. >> i've never been for or against it. i think that it could be good. it's going to hurt. will i get all my business back? i hope. >> in tampa, i'm cameron, abc action news. it is 4:48 right now. a bus driver died and 43 other people were injured when a tour bus they were in crashed into a semitruck outside atlanta. most of the injured were elderly. investigators confirmed the truck was stopped to turn left. it was a trailer blocking lanes

that's according to safety records. the owners of both the semi and the bus have been krietd in the past for multiple safety violations. tampa bay lightning quickly fell behind in last night's season opener, but tom shows us how the bolts bolted back to win. >> good morning, everybody. the final 33 minutes of hockey last night will tell you just how strong this tampa bay lightning team could be this season. man, they scored six times, three on an early two-goal deficit against detroit. after a scoreless first, the lightning put their first on the board right here for the season. jonathan beating peter to make it 2-1. 55 seconds later, detroit would regain that two-goal lead. bronze nielson off a turnover would beat bishop. 3-1 detroit. again, right here, from side angle, gets the puck to ricochet

it was 3-2 detroit after 2. and then in the 3rd, the bolts would tie it. bryan boil, the two on one with j.t. brown. boil risked the puck in a little crease. it's 3-3. a little over five minutes later, here it is. the game winner for the bolts off the power play, and what a pass to tyler johnson. johnson will bury it. the bolts come back from an early two-goal deficit to win their opener against detroit. the final and how about this. the gators and lsu will play after all this season, but not in gainesville, as originally scheduled. the sec announcing the game will be played in baton rouge. obviously, the gators aren't entirely happy with the decision, but they do get that home game back in 2017. that's your morning sports update. enjoy your day. 10 till 5:00.
