finally arrested the hit and run driver who they say killed this woman. this is 74-year-old janice joint has been following the story since it happened. adam is live right now and that suspect is accused of taking extreme measures. >> that's >> reporter: that's -- >> reporter:. that's right. he was describing the way that this man hit and run crash by getting into another crash days later. but they say through pretty good police work and through the help of some surveillance video they were able to pin down the time nearly exactly to when they believe that jarvis damaged his car the first time around the crash that they believed he rolled over janice

that morning. they believe that he was able to do this and then drive away basically leaving town and avoiding the authorities they were able to fake a lot -- figure out on surveillance video exactly when they believe he hit her. and the sheriff reiterated, really a heartbreaking moment saying listen, if kendrick had pulled over at the time of the accident that this arrest. and, and that is the reason he is facing a first-degree felony. for now, live, adam winer. and going in depth on hit and run accidents. they are extremely common here. florida department of highway

updated. this veteran police officer accused of drinking and driving is still in jail. we are live a madeira beach. and you have learned has been arrested once before. >> reporter: this is the second time that he has been arrested for dui. that 2 to 3 miles from where i'm standing they spotted him late last night passed out in his own car near intersection of gulf boulevard and the deer away. green is an officer with the st. petersburg police department. and caught the police chief placed him on administrative leave without pay. this is not the first time that he has gotten in trouble for drinking and driving. he was suspended back in 2010 after a dui conviction. part of the policy says that officers who have had a dui cannot have a sip of alcohol

we're still looking at a couple of showers. the over majority looks like this. we are still warm. were still the upper 80s but with the dew point that is quite -- not as high it looks better. by the weekend we will see very big changes once that i think most folks will like. a couple of isolated showers this evening. temperatures right now, the heat is still on 86 lakeland, tampa 88, sarasota is 89. as i mentioned the dew point were in the middle -- is in the middle 60s. and, compared to what we are going to see with the dew point in the 40s and 50s, we will definitely have big changes in store. fall weather will

with our strong front that we've seen is probably last april. still, the crossed the area mostly 80s. and you can see here, and east to west wind. and it means a couple of showers on the east coast, moving west into the coastal areas. but the overwhelming majority is not seen a drop of rain. water vapor, dry air covering the area and it's not going anywhere. and by this weekend even drier air rolls in. that will bring our morning lows and 50s -- into the 50s. here's a look at futurecast, mostly clear, mostly dry wicking up the partly mostly sunny skies. and, most of the day will be just like it has been a lot of
