we have county by county local tally, and what it could mean for the presidential election. >> some parents rallying against rezoning in west pasco, why the district says it's needed and when those lines could be redrawn next. it is 5:00, thanks for joining us for abc action news. i'm dan shaffer. >> and good morning, i'm deiah riley. thanks for joining us. we want to get a look at your forecast. here's iva good morning ivan. >> good morning. fantastic out there, clear skies, comfortable temperatures in the 60s. a few low 70s out there. most of us in the 60s. it's very comfortable as far as the humidity, and i think that will continue for the next couple of days. we'll be dry today and tomorrow, and then we'll talk about radar beginning to pick up a few showers. that's not going to happen until wednesday, and i'll have the update on that in a few minutes. a cool start, sunshine by the afternoon, plenty of it. we'll have temperatures

heading into the latter part of the week with details coming up later on. good morning everybody on this monday, we started off with a car fire blocking a couple lanes over in st. pete on 275 right here at 38th avenue north. that is all cleared, so we are up to speed once again. no delays or breakdowns there. your drive across the water looking great as well. the sunshine skyway, no crashes or breakdowns. you another 6 minutes. we're talking 5 to 6 minutes back and forth between downtown and the howard franklin bridge. back to you dan. >> we have some sad news to bring you this morning, janet reno, the first woman to serve as u.s. attorney general passed away. reno died from complications of parkinsons disease. she was a controversial political figure at the epicenter of several political storms, the first her decision

compound in waco texas. reno later unsuccessfully ran for florida governor in 2002. she was 78 years old. we're also following breaking news in brandon, a hillsborough deputy saves an elderly couple from a burning apartment building. that couple is fine. the other woman was taken to the hospital for observation. the fire broke out at the park at sienna parks around 1:00 this morning. all units were that could affect where thousands of students go to school in pasco county. school board already has a petition with more than 3,000 signatures against rezoning schools. abc action news reporter ashley yore is at riverside high school. >> reporter: one family tells us they actually have a school in their backyard, but rezoning could send their child to

problem. take a look at this video. this is one of the schools that's facing overcrowding, mitchell high school. they're at 118% capacity, and the district says in the opening weeks of school mitchell and seven springs middle are extremely overcrowded while other schools nearby are actually under capacity. now, they don't know exactly how the rezoning will break down just yet but today's meeting should hash out more of those plans. there could be quite a turnout meeting, about 100 parents have shown up to other meetings just like it. the district says they hope to have the rezoning figured out by february 1st. coming up at 6 a.m., you'll hear from that parent about how much further their child would have to travel to go to school if this rezoning does come through. reporting live in west pasco,

is underway in manatee county after an 18-year-old woman was shot to death over the weekend. deputies responded to 4th street east in bradenton after getting reports of a shooting around 4:30 sunday. while they were there they found out the victim, 18-year- old moriah goode had arrived at a hospital driven by a potential witness. the teen was dead. this is not a random case. they're asking anyone with information to call crime kissimmee bar is on the mend. deputy john rios was trying to arrest this man, angel manuel lopez. the two men struggled. the 28-year-old is in jail facing eight charges. deputy rios is out of the hospital. the mom of the jacksonville teen charged with beating his

victim. her son dylan broman got into an argument with his grandmother over beer. dylan broman is accused of pushing his grandmother to the floor, punching her and kicking her repeatedly but his mom defends him. >> he's a very calm, sweet boy but he does have some issues and he needs help with those issues. >> dylan's paternal grandmother says he has reduced. 5:05. investigators in georgia do not believe deputies were the targets of a shooting that killed one deputy and wounded another. the peach county deputies responded to a call about a fight between neighbors last night. when deputies arrived, someone opened fire hitting both of them. investigators believe the two men that started the original fight called 9-1-1 and they think a third man was actually

area counties are setting new records for the number of registered voters who have voted early or either by mail in this highly contested election. across the statement nearly half of florida's 12.9 million registered voters have already voted. locally in the nine bay area counties we have data for 1.4 million people or 44.8% have voted. that percentage is higher in hillsborough county where many voters want to avoid possible long lines and i wanted my son's vote to count. this is so important for us because this is his first time voting. >> in the bay area 39,000 more republicans than democrats have already voted. the fbi says hillary clinton will not face charges afterthe bureau renewed its investigation into her e-mails. while this is good news for clinton she did not address it directly. she kept her focus on getting out the vote and the economy.

frustration and even anger in this election season. i see it. i hear it. sometimes, you know, i'm the subject of it. i get it, but anger is not a plan. anger is not going to get us new jobs with rising incomes that will create a strong thriving middle class. >> today clinton will visit north carolina, michigan and pennsylvania. she'll be joined by her husband and daughter as well as president obama and the first lady vice president joe biden will campaign for her in st. petersburg today. >> this comes after a weekend visit from democratic vice presidential nominee tim kaine. there was some drama when his motorcade was hit by a car. kaine was not injured neither was anyone on the bus. donald trump is going to be in sarasota this morning. he's holding an 11:00 rally at the fairgrounds. after a few days of praising

system rigged. >> but right now she's being protected by a totally rigged system. i've been talking about the rigged system. i understand the rigged system. i understand this is a rigged system. this is a rigged system. hillary clinton is guilty. she knows it, the fbi knows it. >> trump has said the fbi didn't have time to review the e-mails and whether trump is going to accept the results of the votes his running mate mike pence said trump will accept a clear result. in north carolina, a man says someone opened fire on his trump sign. james powers was at dinner with his son saturday when that sign was damaged. he says the shots also shattered the glass in his front door and damaged his siding. he believes someone must have fired at least 20 shots. he said his trump signs made

else's sign, hurt somebody else's sign. as an american citizen my right to choose is my right to choose. >> one of his other signs was set on fire this election season. he says he's had to call police four times, in fact, about attacks on his signs. in london an effigy of donald trump went up in flames over the weekend as part of britain's celebrations. it traditionally burns a figure of guy fox who plotted to blow up the british parliament more than 400 years ago. a suspect being taken away by a secret service agent. this came moments after donald trump was rushed off the stage in reno, nevada. this happened saturday. austin krites told gma he was mobbed after holding up a republicans against trump sign and escorted out by secret service.

welcome back, 5:15 on this early monday in chicago a man in town for a funeral was shot and killed by a police officer triggering protests. police say joshua beale was of several people involved in a road rage incident with an off- duty firefighter after a car stopped in traffic after the funeral. an off-duty police officer saw the argument, came out to help the firefighter. a police sergeant also stopped after he claims he saw beale had a gun. the sergeant says he fired after beale refused to fire the weapon. beale was killed. people in deli are angry and frustrated after blaming holiday celebrations for pea

many communities -- the hindu festival of lights left behind dangerous pollution. reported dangerous levels of air pollution leading up to the festival but pollution tripled at the time of the celebrations. >> they had a particularly stagnant air mass on top of the no wind. it culminated into a mess out there. upper 60s for us. we certainly were mostly clear through the weekend. a few clouds out there and a breezy afternoon yesterday. i think we'll do that again today. very similar to sunday's forecast here, low to mid-60s right now. so very comfortable start, dry start we'll continue with dry conditions. i mean, look at the next weather maker here, and that's well to our west. we won't have to worry about much except for a little wind and a few clouds rolling through. the front itself is rolling through the west. the next chance of showers with a line moving through by the

of rainfall as i see it right now. moisture limited the last few fronts. a few clouds popping up. you see futurecast through this monday here, staying dry and then the winds picking up a little bit by the afternoon. the northeast wind will continue to provide a couple of sprinkles or light showers. i think we're going to be on the drier end of it here. low to mid-80s. by 2, 3:00 our afternoon highs of course changed with the clock, happened at the same time. it's just the different number here, 83 is going to be high for today. normal high this time of year is 80, so very comfortable, a little above average, but i don't think anyone's complaining. we'll go get back to average behind the front. the air mass is not going to be that cold either. 2 to 3-foot seas out there. moderate chop for the bays with water temperatures at the beach in the mid-70s. sunrise at 6:46 and there's that sunset at 5:41. if you wake up early and have

oklahoma. it did major damage but there does not appear to be any damage to a massive oil storage facility there. the pipeline infrastructure also appears to be undamaged in that town that bills itself as the pipeline crossroads of the world. one home for seniors did have to be evacuated. oklahoma has had thousands of earthquakes in recent years with nearly all traced to the underground rejection of wastewater left over by oil and gas production. you might be rested after setting your clocks back over the weekend. >> the switch can be really bad for you. the change can throw off your body's internal clock. it can disrupt sleep and cause significant stress on your body. the end of daylight saving time also means people will be spending more time in the dark. that can mean more traffic accidents and the lack of daylight leads to seasonal affective disorders. >> coming up, florida's so- called solar amendment help the
