by tomorrow we'll begin to clear things out and talk about much cooler temperatures. this afternoon we'll hold into the mid-70s and do that with mostly cloudy skies. let's head over to janelle. >> good morning everybody. we've been watching this crash all morning long. the roundabout along tuttle avenue is closed right now due to a crash. this crash happened at siesta drive and south gate circle. you're going to want to use shade avenue or bee ridge to work your way around that. if you're heading across the water this morning, the bridges are looking great. this is what it looks like, the tampa side of the howard franklin, all three bridges less than 10 minutes. thanks janelle. 6:01, and breaking news this morning, politically fueled graffiti on the front of a hillsborough county home. >> it said burn everything with an arrow pointing to a mobile home next door. that home went up in flames. reporter clifton french is live on the scene near brian road near i-4 and i-275. >> that fire is out now but the

is disturbing. >> yeah, we've all seen these big protests across the country getting little out of hand, but this right here is a rural area, and as you can tell by the graffiti right on this trailer right here that things here also getting potentially a little out of control. now we're not showing you the entire side of this trailer because of the vulgar language on there, but we have a blurred version i'm going to show you right now. there's a big curse word, then it says trump. we believe both of the trailers involved in this are vacant, so nobody was hurt and the fire honestly over here from what we can tell wasn't that bad, but neighbors we spoke to are terrified that more politically- fueled violence could plague their homes. >> to me, i mean, this place is like timberwood, and it could have easily went up in smoke. it's just really, really,

that. >> and you can also see right here the acronym blm, which could mean black lives matter. now it's still not clear what caused the fire. the arrow pointing directly over to this trailer right here that caught on fire. we have sent messages to investigators but the graffiti over there obviously makes this fire suspicious. we are live in hillsborough county, clifton french, abc action news. the bay area the loss of this well-known attorney. she died in a diving accident over the weekend. her husband is still in the hospital. the victim blaise gamba was a well-known and well-liked attorney working at the carlton field firm. colleagues say she worked on a lot of pro bono cases and volunteered her time to many local organizations working for those who couldn't afford an attorney: her husband william made a distress call to another boater. help arrived but sadly it was

more on what we're learning about this tragic accident and also gamba's community impact coming up in a live report at 6:30. we're waiting to find out more about a shooting investigation. this happened at the 3100 block of osborne avenue. they arrested one person, they have not yet released her name. they also found a gun. no one was hurt in that shooting. we're waiting to find out the name of a driver killed in a horrible crash in pinellas county. an suv drove barrier around 5:30 sunday evening plunging 70 feet from the exit ramp from i-275 to i- 175. the passenger in that suv in critical condition. protests surrounding the election of donald trump continue here in the bay area over the weekend. more than 500 people rallied- night in st. petersburg. immigrants and members of the lgbt community gathered and said they wanted to protest the election results and fight for what they believe in. they're now urging others to do

>> absolutely, they should get out and let their representatives know they're not happy with whatever decisions have been made. they need to voice their concerns about whatever political issues that do not jive with the reason the united states of america was founded. >> they're also encouraging others to take action in their communities telling them not to give up. >> tampa bay bucs wide receiver mike evans is also protesting donald trump's election. evans as you see right there sat alone on a bench during the national anthem before yesterday's game at raymond he says he won't stand for something he doesn't believe in. >> you know, i'm not big on politics or things like that. i told myself, if this happens then america's not right right now. and i said this a long time ago, you know, when he ran i thought it was a joke, and you know, the joke continues. >> evans spoke for nearly 2 minutes about his protest. donald trump's speaking out for the first interview since

defending his temperament and use of social media. appearing on last night's 60 minutes, the president-elect called himself a very sober person and will conduct himself in a very good manner as the nation's president. when asked about his sometimes divisive rhetoric during the campaign, he says it's sometimes necessary to get people motivated. he called twitter an effective form of communication that helped him win but he'll be more restrained as president. trump also discussedty porting criminals who immigrants but left the door open for other undocumented immigrants. >> probably 2 million, could be 3 million. we are getting them out of our country or we're going to incarcerate. after the border is secured and after everything gets normalized we're going to make a determination on the people that you're talking about who are terrific people. >> a surprising moment from the interview, trump says he's fine with same-sex marriage, that it's been settled by the supreme court. he also revealed several members of his administration.

in orlando, tens of thousands of people gathered for the city's annual gay pride parade. they paid tribute to the 49 people killed in the pulse nightclub massacre back in june. more than 150,000 people gathered to support the lgbt q community. the mood was more somber than usual as the crowds remembered the victims of the pulse nightclub massacre five months ago. 49 people were killed, dozens injured in that attack. pinellas county detectives want you to -- want to help you learn how to spot a scam can keep your hard earned money yourself. this week the county is joining the global effort to fight fraud. a pinellas county sheriff's office hosting workshops this week where detectives will discuss scams pulled right here in the bay area. the first event is at 9:00 this morning at the peacock center on 112th street north in seminole. you can find more details by clicking on events at pcso web.com. >> 6:07. still to come on abc action news at 6, a deputy's death

they say they didn't recognize him as a suspect at first. deputy dennis wallace was checking out a stolen van sunday morning when the killer shot him twice in the head. this man, david machado stole the van and shot wallace and then they say he carjacked a second vehicle, committed an armed robbery and tried to snatch a woman's purse. it was that woman who fought back and called police who then later caught wallace. they have linked him now today deputy's death. police are becoming more concerned about a trend here in ghost guns. they're military style semiautomatic rifles that people can assemble right at their homes. they don't have any serial numbers or markings making them untraceable. six companies are selling kits of them. people can legally buy these guns without background checks because of how the government defines firearms. 6:11, coming up, billions of dollars going to toyota

14 minutes after 6 right now, 4 people are recovering this morning after being attacked during a flash mob. police say two teenagers are responsible for the chaos. the victims include an off-duty detective who tried to stop the attack. police say the group of teens took off after starting the

arrested. they're both 16 years old. they're now facing assault charges. investigators have not determined a motive for the attack. police say a 4-year-old accidentally shot herself and her mother while the mother was asleep. the sad situation happening in an indianapolis home sunday. officers say the girl got the gun off the night stand and fired it striking herself in the face and her mother in the back of the head. the girl is in stable condition. the mother is a family says someone scratched swastikas on the hood of a car that belongs to their elderly mother. they believe it happened while she was parked at a shopping center in virginia. it's the third time something like this has happened in the past year in that area. a nearby middle school had swastikas painted in a boy owes bathroom and someone burned the symbol on to a football field at a high school last month. toyota will pay up to $3.4 billion to some pickup truck

the vehicles don't have enough protection against rust, and it may impact their structural integrity. the japanese automaker reaching a settlement after owners filed a lawsuit. tacoma and tundra trucks and sequoia suvs made between 2005 and 2010 are included in the settlement. the company will inspect vehicles for 12 years after the sale date and either replace the frame or reimburse the buyer. authorities here in florida are looking into new ways to stop the spread of zika using mosqui officials in miami-dade county now want to use mosquitoes infected with a naturally occurring bacteria that stops insects from spreading viruses. the bacteria doesn't typically infect mosquitoes in south florida so scientists will have to inject it. researchers believe this could be the key to stopping zika, not only from spreading here in florida. a new test is being called a medical breakthrough that allows people living with hiv to monitor their disease as quickly and easily as checking your weight on a came.

working on this disposable stick, it can detect hiv in a single drop of blood. this could open the door for detection of other diseases like hepatitis. a new study is bringing peace of mind to people with arthritis: the arthritis medication celebrex is easier on the stomach than prescription-strength ibuprofen. many patients expressed concerns about the negative side effects of this painkiller. the study found that celebrex caused fewer stomach and heart proble 6:17 now, a state of emergency is in place right now in parts of tennessee. take a look at some of the smoke from a few of those wildfires now creating air quality alerts across much of the state. health officials say people with asthma and other respiratory issues, especially children are at the greatest risk. doctors are reporting a significant spike inpatients having trouble breathing. >> when we go to school in the mornings, i mean, just from her walking from the house to the car she starts wheezing and

>> a 21-year-old man is behind bars facing charges after he admitted to starting two of these fires. the fires have burned more than 950 acres. >> see that smoke all the way in atlanta over the weekend as well. we check in with our problems here, stagnant air looking at some fog early it morning. we're down to 3/4 of a mile at the executive airport there along i-4. that's going to be a problem for commuts still looking at low visibility, not as widespread as we had yesterday as far as the fog. so we're looking at patchy areas, but where it is foggy, you'll have some issues with visibility. look at the temperatures this morning, very mild, low to mid- 60s. the dew points are also in the low to mid-60s. feeling a little stickier out there. just a one day deal here as we're going to clear out. today even some sprinkles up to the north moving very quickly

and notice a lot of eastward movement and west southerly movement here. that means that for you and me, we're going to hang on to the clouds even through tonight and through the early part of tomorrow and eventually we'll begin to clear things out as the front continues to push down south. there's the clearing line, and then we're looking great for the rest of tuesday. north wind takes over and thereafter we're looking at -- a close up on futurecast, we're locked in with the clouds this morning, not raining today, but you'll see the cud notice at 3 a.m., still some cloud cover left over and even through the morning we'll have a little band of clouds, and then by midday and into the afternoon we'll break out plenty of sunshine and that will result in fantastic additions as humidity will be much lower with temperatures this afternoon in the mid and upper 70s. overnight lows behind the front already cooling off in dramatic fashion up to the north. 60s this morning, how about upper 40s across the nature

i'm doe deiah riley. >> and i'm dan shaffer. >> ivan cabrera starts us off with florida's most accurate forecast. >> we're going to start off with some fog for some impacts as far as i-4 if you're coming in from the east, lakeland looks good and then you hit the fog. it will be thick and then it looks better along the coast. temperatures mild, right, low to mid, the reason for it a front on top of us keeping the cloud deck right over us. that has kept temperatures milder this morning. 67. we'll warm things up to mid-70s all the while with mostly cloudy skies. we clear out behind the front tonight and cool off big time. we'll talk more about that in the extended forecast in a few minutes. we've been talking about the fog along i-4, and we now have a crash reported, and it is causing some pretty big

seeing an emergency vehicle heading to the scene of the crash. this just happened. cars starting to stack up heading westbound towards tampa. if you're heading out the door expect some delays on i-4. here's what your drive times look like right now. 27 minutes from county line road to downtown, 11 minutes from 75 town to 275. thanks. 6:32. this morning a well-known tampa attorney is dead after a diving accident after madeira beach. surrounding her mysterious death and what also landed her husband in the hospital. abc action news anchor james tully is live right near johns pass, and of course our thoughts are with her husband right now. any word on how he's doing. >> reporter: we know that he is still recovering this morning. it looks like he's going to pull through and survive this and hopefully at some point he can fill deputies in and help them fill the blanks. there's a lot we don't know

paramedics eventually reached blaise and her husband saturday afternoon. let's show you a picture of her, blaise gamba was 37 years old. her husband william on saturday flagged down another boater when she apparently lost consciousness after diving. william also passed out after getting help. blaise died yesterday morning. william is still recovering. deputies aren't saying exactly what kind of diving accident led to. this we know that blaise in the bay area. friend and colleague of hers remembered blaise's unselfishness and tireless work ethic. >> blaise was just a really kind, thoughtful, caring person, and she was good to everyone, very determined person, hardworking. >> that colleague of hers went on to say that blaise had done

rudy giuliani and new jersey governor chris christie. the president-elect clarifying his plans for a wall along the u.s. border. on 60 minutes he said he would consider a fence in some places. >> for certain areas i would but certain areas a wall is more appropriate. i'm very good at this. this is called construction. >> so part fence? >> yeah, could be some fencing. >> we're finding out attorneys representing donald trump have filed a motion to trump university until after the inauguration. the president-elect's attorney argues that extra months would give both sides time to possibly reach a settlement. right now the civil trial is scheduled to begin two weeks from today. iraqi troops are making progress in the fight against isis, but they're moving with caution as they fight back suicide bombers. in this video from over the weekend, you can see the smoke rising from those explosions on

entered nimrraud south of mosul. witnesses say the terrorist group is fortifying their positions, digging new trenches and building barriers on major roads. overnight we learned a disturbing discovery at miami international airport helped agents break an international arms smuggling operation. back in april, customs agents opened a shipment from venezuela that contained empty cases for car address -- and they arrested two men for trying to ship eight guns, 23,000 rounds of ammunition and 19 high capacity magazines to venezuela. breaking overnight out of jacksonville, three people are dead including an infant after a shooting at a food mart parking lot. one man, two women and that baby were sitting in a car when they were shot. one of the women died in the car, but the others were rushed to the hospital where all but

injuries. that shooting could be related to an earlier dispute between the two women. >> it's a sad day for jacksonville, for everybody that lives here and a sad day for those out there investigating this terrible crime. >> right now it's not clear who actually fired the shots. investigators are hoping to find and interview any possible witnesses. we're learning a man first thought to have died in a high speed crash in clear water actually shot himself. pinellas park police say he was speeding with he crashed into some mangroves. when they investigated further they found he had a gunshot wound to the head. a public memorial is now planned in south florida for former u.s. attorney general janet reno. services will be held december 11th at the miami-dade college kendall campus. reno was the first woman to serve as attorney general of the united states. she fanned controversy, though, when she authorized agents to seize elian gonzalez from his miami relatives so he could be

key cuba. reno died last week, she was 78; the organizers of a free medical clinic in bradenton said they had no choice but to turn hundreds of people away. several people ended up being seen over the weekend after waiting hours in line at manatee county's remote area medical clinic. the co-organizer dr. richard conrad said the need for free care is so strong that they ran out of appointment slots. >> this morning we turned we didn't have enough dentists and enough eye specialists. >> a wide range of services from dental work to eye care were all offered for free. many people waited in line overnight to make sure that they were seen. if your family has a history of heart disease, there's some good news this morning. >> new research shows three things can keep you healthy. a new study found that not smoking, exercising moderately

can drastically lower the risk of heart disease even for people with a high genetic risk. even people who are obese, who took those three steps lowered their risk going from a terribly unhealthy lifestyle to a moderately healthy one produced the most dramatic results. 365,000 people die from heart disease every year in the u.s. ever since the election tensions have been rising around the country, and we've heard several incidents of racist speech or politically threatening messages including this incident at an episcopal church in maryland. the vandalism included pro- trump messages: members arrived for sunday services to find this banner advertising the church's spanish language service destroyed. the words trump nation and whites only are written at the back of the banner and also around the building. >> we believe that the majorities of americans want a

across the spectrum of our glorious people, and we do not want our friend of color and our immigrants and other people who feel vulnerable to imagine that this is who we are as a nation. >> members of the congregation replaced the pro-trump phase with the hopeful words love wins. prayer service continued after they finished making those changes. take a look at these signs posted above water fountains at a high school in jacksonville. a duval school drinking after someone put up whites only signs over drinking fountains at a school in ocean way. someone pulled a nearly identical troubling stunt in illinois putting signs on bathrooms. roughly 200 students staged a sit-in protest. today new zealand's prime minister is touring damage caused by a powerful earthquake. the prime minister will take a helicopter tour. a quake rocked that country.

coming up on 6:45. starting off your morning sprinter this morning. hateful political speech is part of a suspicious fire, it curses president-elect trump with burn everything spray painted on a house and an arrow pointing to a mobile home next door that was set on fire. action news reporter clifton french is live now on the scene. luckily nobody was hurt in this. >> reporter: yeah, this is the trailer that has the graffiti on it right next door. right here is the trailer where that fire was. most of the damage all inside. can't really see it. neighbors tell us both these trailers are vacant. very scary for all of them to see. crews got here just before 1:30 this morning. the fire once too bad but graffiti making this fire

everything. then many smaller writing, the letters blm, a potential acronym for black lives matter. i want to just zoom in on some of this graffiti. we've reached out to investigators to see what caused this fire. we have not heard back from them. i am in hillsborough county, clifton french abc action news. we're working right now to get an update on the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of a well-known tampa attorney. blaise gamba was husband william when both suffered some sort of medical emergency on board a boat after a dive a few miles off madeira beach. blaise died. william gamba is still recovering deputies are calling it a diving accident. anti-trump protestors took to the streets across the country. protests occurred in new york city, philadelphia, los angeles, and this one which saw several hundred marching through st. petersburg. most of the demonstrations were peaceful including one on the

buccaneers wide receiver mike evans who did not stand for the national anthem yesterday. some pasco county parents are up in arms this morning over possible rezoning. >> the school overcrowding is considering that district. abc action news reporter rodney dunigan is live at river ridge high school where a meeting is planned for tonight. rodney, parents are not happy about this. they plan to let the district know. >> they really want their voices hear on this issue. in fact, many of these parents say they community simply for the schools, and they are not happy about these possible changes. >> i'm feeling scared, actually, angry and scared because i feel like our lives are in someone else's hands and i don't like that. >> reporter: and many families are concerned, especially those directly impacted. now the committee looking into this overcrowding issue has come up with four possible rezoning options for west pasco county schools. the district says mitchell high

school are extremely overcrowded while other schools nearby are under capacity. the school district is asking for patience telling us no final decisions have been made. >> i would say that our county has a transparent process. we have parent involvement, community involvement. we really do have a lot of community involvement in this process. >> reporter: and the district hopes to by february 1st. that meeting tonight starts at 6 p.m. parents will have a chance to weigh in on any possible changes at that point. for now reporting live in pasco county, rodney dunigan abc action news. 6:48. a warning this morning, if you want to try to save some money by buying counterfeit iphone cords and chargers for your iphone, one woman found out her savings nearly cost her her home. katie grabbed her iphone one

charger. when she dropped it it fell on to the plug and the metallic braided covering shorted out sending sparks everywhere nearly igniting her carpet. >> i stopped a second like what was that, and then i looked down and i see the sparks. all the regular cords, they bend and show wires every time so i was thinking that this would hold up. >> to protect yourself, apple says buy only apple brand or apple certified chargers cords. they will have this logo saying apple has checked them for safety. facebook is apologizing far morbid glitch. on friday a large number of facebook profiles were mislabeled as deceased. the social networking site says the glitch added a memorial banner that asked others to remember and celebrate the users life.

the crash is just out of camera range, at least one lane is blocked causing a significant delay on i-4 past the polk parkway. take u.s. 92. that's moving a little quicker right now. once you get into downtown, this is what it looks like i- 275 right through downtown. ivan. thanks a lot. yeah, we have patchy fog like that, sometimes it's worse because you get clear viewing as you head out of polk and then boom you hit it. it's very thick right just concentrated along i-475. once you make your way west it will clear out once again. a very concentrated area but we do still have the fog probably for another hour. low to mid-60s, a mild start today. i think we'll have a mild finish as well with mid-70s. a couple of isolated showers. this is all in association with a front that will keep us under the cloud cover today. not going to see much in the way of sunshine, a slow moving clearing line will begin to
