last night. district officials are considering five plans to hypofunction overcrowding. mitchell height is operating at 130% capacity right now. parents say district officials haven't been transparent about the process and they're calling for a delay to any rezoning plans. >> none of the neighborhoods were given any of this information until august, and up until that point, the school board continued to deny that there was any rezoning taking >> the rezoning committee will meet on thursday. the decision will ultimately be approved by the school board. 4:33,000. a south florida girl is suspended for her act of kindness. silver trail middle school suspended the honor roll student for using a child's butter knife at lunch. she used that knife to split a peach with a friend. using that knife is a violation

facing charges for making a bomb threat at a church. this is 37-year-old ethan coal. authorities say he walked into mary magdalene church in braddenton around noon yesterday. he threatened to set off a bomb if he couldn't talk to the father of the church. a study finds the homicide rate in florida is rising, especially homicides using firearms since the stand your ground became law. it was passed in deadly force if they believe they're in harm's way. according to data gathered by the cdc, the average number of homicides was 82 per month during the six-year period that ended on october of 2005. during that next nine years homicides increased to 99 per month. the rate of homicides by farms increased about 32%.

see right there, they're cute but they're not guard dogs. surveillance video shows these dogs greeting two burglars breaking into their home- september. one even bends down to pet one of the dogs. police are now looking for the burglars. high-tech cameras and proactive policing help make long boat key the safest city in florida. that's the finding from the national home security company protect america. it compiled data from the this yearlong boat key had only three burglaries all year. chief of police says crime stays down because there are only two roads to get on and off the island. police are using automatic license plate readers to track down criminals that drive in. >> if something comes become from tallahassee we'll get that and be notified within moments that that vehicle is on our island. >> the chief says the cameras do not track regular citizens driving through. they only get an alert if the

a bradenton business owner has plans to shut down his e- cigarette company because new rules could wipe out the industry. the fda wants e-cigarette companies to be regulated like traditional tobacco companies. jason of totally wicked says that would remove 90% of the products currently on the market. the major obstacle is the cost. >> the testing us to do is $300,000 per. i just said we have over 3,000 items. >> the american heart association says strict regulations are needed because more than 9 million people use e-cigarettes in the u.s. want to check in now with ivan for a look at our forecast on this tuesday. a little cool outside this morning. >> much cooler. absolutely you feel that and the reason is we were so warm yesterday, well into the 60s. we had higher humidity.

lower humidity and that is setting up the stage for a very chilly sweater morning across at least the nature coast in the lower 50s milder down southeast with cloud cover still left over. the rain is gone for us today. we're going to be mostly sunny by later on this afternoon. just some clouds to deal with this morning. that will help warm things up a little so we're back into the mid-70s by 4:00. we did that yesterday. today we'll do it with a lot more sunshine. another big cooldown for later in the seven-day forecast. we'll talk about that in a few minutes. a quick check on the roads at 437. this is the north end of the howard franklin bridge. traffic's moving well in both directions. we'll get another update on the roads in about 15 minutes. two eastbound lanes are closed on hillsborough avenue between 22nd and 30th street. crews are trying to fix this water main break. repairs to that main were supposed to be done by last night.

patched up. a man drove his car right into a huge hole caused by a water main break while heading to work yesterday morning. this happened in citrus county on truman boulevard in beverly hills. the driver was able to get out safely. sarasota county is holding a public workshop about an i-75 overpass that would connect to cattlemen road near nathan bender park. the meeting is at 6:30 at church of hope. locals can proposed project and share concerns you might have. the king tide flooded parts of south florida last month. now the super moon has that area under a coastal flood advisory. we'll tell you how long this advisory is going to remain in effect. >> the woman behind a popular online sex education channel will be in tampa today. where lacy green will bring her message to end dating violence. >> a very good start for the

finding live and dead roaches and sewage backing up the floor drains. inspectors closed acropless after finding more than 100 live and dead roaches in the kitchen. the owner feels the inspector is unfairly picking on him. he immediately called the plumber who was working on it when the inspector arrived. also, pipos to go on 4th street north in downtown st. pete is known cuisine. it stopped serving its authentic cuisine. inspectors found 60 live and dead roaches. at stop sale was also issued on cooked plantains, black beans and rice. the owner ramon senior hernandez says pipo to go is managed by his 22-year-old son. he immediately went over to pipos to go to help clean up

good morning, clear water, we're looking cool this morning. we're feeling chilly. we're talking low 50s this morning. upper 40s up across the north. this time yesterday we were in the 60s. a huge difference . the humidity dropped as well. we have the cloud cover, some sprinkles out there but not much. i think at this point here we're just looking for clouds. even those will go away later today. we've had some moisture moving in from the gulf over that front, and that's what brought us a spectacular day yesterday of cloud cover. did it look like florida, no it did not. overcast skies and we held on to that for most of the day. despite that we hit mid-70s. we'll get rid of the clouds and do it with some sunshine and a north wind that continues to come in from the north. that will provide us with spectacular weather the next several days i don't expect any

this is the time of year we can go days and days and days without rainfall. just a few sprinkles out there. temperatures this afternoon i think will be in the mid-70s once again and we'll set the stage for another cold night tonight. look at this, the upper 40s, a little more widespread. a chilly start, and then by the afternoon on wednesday once again back in the mid and upper 70s. this is a trend by the way, upper 70s, i think we'll be closer to 80 by later on in the week as we hit 75 today. but notice, despite the cool mornings, each and every day we'll get right around 80. we would keep going or at least hold except we have a big front coming in saturday night. also, moisture starved, not going to find much but a few clouds. watch what happens, highs in the 60s. are you kidding me? that is cold stuff here. that will continue through the early part of next week with overnight lows in the 40s and 50s. another check on traffic here at 4:49. i-275 at fowler avenue.
