tv star. >> thanks for waking up with abc action news. i'm dan shaffer. >> and i'm janelle martinez in for deiah riley. i hope everybody had a good thanksgiving. >> very nice,. >> what's it like outside for all those shoppers on black friday? >> it actually is pretty nice out there for those black friday shoppers. warm and a little bit increased humidity. current temperatures in the mid to upper 60s over most of the bay area. 69 in everyone else remains in the 60s. as we head into the afternoon, well, temperatures will warm up nicely. in fact, in the low to mid-80s. it's about 7 degrees above normal for this time of year, and we're going to see increased humidity as well. so your digital day planner looks like this. by 10 a.m., 77 degrees. by 2 p.m., 80 and we expect our highs to top out right around 81. there are some changes in the forecast, though. i'll let you know all about

guys. good morning, everybody. pretty light right now. here's a live look, i-275 and i- 4. not a lot of cars on the road unless they're hitting those shopping malls. that's probably the only area you're going to see traffic this morning. otherwise you'll be pretty light outside. out with the turkey and in with the shopping. shoppers across tampa bay are packing stores right now to get in on those great deals. abc action news reporter rodney dunigan is live at tampa premium outlets in wesley chapel. how's it look out there rodney? >> reporter: dan, it's kind of slow right now. let me tell you, we've had the storm here, then the calm and they're expecting a storm a bit later. they've been open, believe it or not, since 6:00 last night and they're going to be open until 10:00 tonight. i've been seeing a lot of tired shoppers and of course workers, but one shopper that i called this morning, stacy, she's in the holiday spirit. thank you stacy. what time did you get out here

i went to bed early so i could miss the two storms you were talking about a minute ago. >> what sort of deals are you looking for this year? i saw the gap with like 50, 70% off and a couple of other stores. is it stores that you're trying to hit this morning? >> yeah, the athletic stores are a big hit with my teenage sons and just, you know, going out to find what i don't even know that i need yet really. >> a lot of folks may be out there wondering she has on a pretty cool chain there. what gave you the idea for christmas lights? >> they sell these quite pricey at disney and i found them a little less expensively and i just thought it's florida, you need a little extra help to be festive. i donned my glowing lights today. >> we appreciate it ask we'll let you get back to that shopping. shopping malls and centers throughout the bay area will be packed today. and number one concern for a lot of folks is safety and

out several docks near madeira beach and causing damage that stretched really for miles. investigators say a commercial fishing boat with two men on board caused all the damage. the pinellas county sheriff's office and fwc are both investigating. they took two men into custody. a witness says the boaters nearly hit some kids who were fishing on one of those docks. >> they were on the dock fishing. good thing, because one of the parents saw them coming and started yelling at them. they just veer those kids all over the dock, that would have been an ugly site. >> authorities still investigating exactly why the boater lost control. and we're learning more this morning about an unthinkable crime in fort myers. deputies say a baby-sitter killed a baby he was supposed to be watching. they arrested this man rafael carrion, the 8-month-old was not breathing when first responders showed up early thanksgiving morning.

an autopsy found the infant suffered massive head injuries that appeared to be from a violent beating. detectives say carrion couldn't explain the injuries. they charged him with second degree murder and aggravated manslaughter. police in volusia county are charging a 34-year-old man with attempted murder for stabbing his parents with a steak knife. edwin doherty put his mom in a headlock and then put his in a headlock. dougherty grabbed a knife and stabbed his mom and dad. the parents are now recovering at the hospital. this morning we're get our first look at a polk county deputyrecovering at the hospital. deputy adam panell along with his wife on his facebook page. he was helping a polk county mother having car trouble when

back in october. law enforcement officers will pay their respects today to a nassau county deputy who died in the line of duty on tuesday. a wake for deputy eric oliver will be held this afternoon. oliver was killed when he was struck by an suv while chasing a man running from border patrol agents. the twice deported guatemala man was being sought after pleading guilty to dui august. a thanksgiving tradition ends in a hail of gunfire. hundreds of people scattered in louisville, kentucky, when someone opened fire at a popular holiday flag football event. six people were shot, two of them were killed. police say it's lucky there weren't more victims. >> the good part about it, there were lots of people that were here and for the number of shots that were probably fired here there could have been more. >> i heard it. we were standing on the side loins watching the women's team

started scattering. >> all the football games in the park were canceled. police say the shootings were not related to the event, but don't have a motive or suspects yet. in chattanooga tennessee, volunteers boxed up thanksgiving care packages for the families of those elementary school students involved in a deadly bus crash this week. six children died when their bus hit a tree and split in half earlier this week. donations came in from across nn will not take away the pain they're feeling but it's a reminder they're not alone. president-elect donald trump may have spent thanksgiving in his luxurious mar-a-lago home but he says it's all about work this holiday. he tweeted this yesterday saying he's trying to get carrier air-conditioning company to stay in the u.s. the indianapolis-based company is planning to move thousands of jobs to mexico. staffers also say trump is busy

5:14 on this friday, a massive man hunt continues in france this morning for the person who broke into a retirement home and stabbed an elderly woman to death. that retirement home is for monks. police say the woman appears to be the masked intruders moved elsewhere. french authorities say this was not terror related. they do not know a motive though. >> a missing california mother is reunited with her mother after being found safe. sherry papini vanished while jogging. she was found yesterday by a passing driver. she had a few minor injuries.

of her captors, both hispanic women armed with a handgun. deputies say there are likely more captors. >> she was bound with restraints but was able to summon help from a passing motorist who then notified law enforcement. >> law enforcement is working to identify the suspects and their motive along with where exactly her captors took her. detectives are interviewing papini who was treated ask released at a local hospital. an are facing serious charges in south florida for allegedly trying to export a million dollars worth of anti-aircraft ammunition to iraq and sudan. the u.s. bans the export of weapons and ammunition to both those countries. a federal magistrate in broward county calls the charges very serious and ordered both men

the macy's day thanksgiving parade for one officer. officer andrew dossey who was shot on duty last year pro posed to his girlfriend yesterday and she said yes. the nypd posted the happy moment on its twitter page. dossi was shot in the elbow and back while responding to a holdup at a bronx grocery store. it's a beautiful day to be out shopping today, a little warm possibly and a increased humidity. current temperatures right now are in the mid to upper 60s. 69 in tampa, 63 in plant city, the cool spot up north with temperatures in the 50s. your hour-by-hour forecast looks like this, though. if you're heading out to the malls, things looking pretty nice warming into the 70s and eventually into the lower 80s by this afternoon with lots of sunshine. great shopping day. we're not seeing anything on satellite and radar.
