we are following a crash in spring hill, u.s. 41 at beth lane. this is just south of county line road. you can see on my maps both directions blocked right now. you're going to want to use sun coast parkway or side roads to work your way around that. we're watching this crash in roskin, the southbound lanes of u.s. 41 have been closed for most of the morning, a serious crash here. hopefully those lanes will open shortly. no cr interstates, your drive on i-4 looking pretty good, 22 minutes from county line road into downtown tampa. cyber monday is quickly becoming the most important day for one of the world's largest retailers. >> that's right, last year amazon sold 54 million items on cyber monday, and they expect this year it's going to be even bigger. action news anchor james tully live now at the amazon fulfillment facility in ruskin, and james, they're offering

house. the family was not home. they had just moved back in a few weeks ago after being homeless for seven months in march. a different drunk driver. >> i try to think of the positives rather than the negatives, thank god nobody was hurt but i'm not looking forward to being homeless for another six or seven months or however long it takes to find housing. >> hosley and her kids are scared to return to they're hoping the city will consider speed bumps or railings to stop another accident. a driver kills a tow truck operator on the side of the road. it's the second time this type of accident has happened in two months. police say the driver was under the influence just like the last case. last it crest happened sunday morning in tampa. troopers say leandro perez hit and killed danny hand who was helping a stranded driver. hand leaves behind a girlfriend

coming up at 6:30. >> police have arrested a 27- year-old man in connection to a body found in a pinellas county dumpster. corey dean palmer watkins is now behind bars. police believe he is connected to the murder of will hodges. police found hodges' body over a week ago in a dumpster at the shoppes at park place on u.s. 19. investigators found watkins fingerprints at the crime scene. he's charged with second degree murder. the push for a recount in the presidential elect officials in wisconsin revealing they plan to meet today to talk about a possible time line for a recount in their state. green party candidate jill stein has raised $6 million for the process, and hillary clinton's campaign has formally joined the effort. president-elect donald trump narrowly won wisconsin. state officials say it will be tough to finish a recount by the federal deadline. that's december 12th. this morning some cubans are mourning the death of fidel castro.

louisiana man accused of going on a violent rampage in baton rouge is dead after a shootout with police. officers say he fatally shot a woman, ran over two bystanders, then crashed into an ambulance. chief of detectives for the sheriff's office says that 48- year-old man fired at deputies late last night when they demanded he show his hands: he ran into woods, they captured him moments later. he woman, threw her out of the car and shot another person and ran over those bystanders. newly released documents by a tennessee school district prompting more questions this morning about the employment of that driver involved in the deadly school bus crash. >> those documents show school officials knew the driver, johnthony walker had a second job weeks prior to the accident, and he was still allowed to drive. the ntsb revealing walker also worked at the amazon

guard in illinois. loved ones are now mourning that guard, 38-year-old tyrone harden. he worked for the canadian national railroad. investigatorssay he was trying to stop a carjacker who took a woman's car saturday night. harden spotted the suspect in a different stolen car. police say that's when the man shot at him more than a dozen times. the shooter stole the officer's vehicle but then abandoned it. his family is pleading for the killer to come this senselessness that's going on, it really needs to stop. >> harden leaves behind a wife and a 5-year-old son. investigators are now pouring over surveillance video. this morning there's a new $20,000 reward in the man hunt for two dangerous fugitives. there's a massive search going

jail in california. we're getting a look inside the cell. investigators say they tied a series of blankets and bed sheets together to rappel out a window and down two stories on thanksgiving tampa bay. deputies caught the prisoners who tried to help them get away. new information on the kidnapped mother found on a rule road in california. calls between police and 9- she was found. >> she's chained with a quarter inch. >> sherri papini was chained to something and was beaten. authorities are now examining her clothing and those restraints and searching for any dna evidence that might lead them to her alleged kidnappers. papini vanished three weeks ago while jogging raising questions

engineers says it does not plan to forcibly remove protestors in north dakota who are protesting the dakota access oil pipeline. the corp. says it is looking for a peaceful and orderly way to get protestors to a safer location. the land they're protesting on will be closed to the public december 5th for safety reasons. the agency says those who choose to stay will do so at their own risk and that ty getting nationwide attention right now. shoppers in a crowded northern california mall start throwing punches ending in an all-out brawl. the video shows six men on the night of thanksgiving. you can see them repeatedly kicking and punching each other, eventually wrestling on the floor. no one called 9-1-1 during the fight and there were no reports of injuries. the mall spokesperson says mall security actually broke this fight up. not clear what caused it.

hit the web. from the weather center, good morning on a monday here getting you back to work with a lot of clouds today. we'll be on the increase throughout the day and that will result in an isolated shower by 3, 4:00, not out of the question. about 10 to 20% coverage. not much. it's an indication of a pattern change we're in now, warm and humid through midweek, and stressing humid here. it's going to feel quite uncomfortable the next few days. cooler, drier air, that's always, of course, not too far ay in here. this morning i think we'll be the coolest of the next several, mid-50s across the nature coast, the rest of us in the upper 50s to lower 60s. the southeast wind is going to shut off that cool air. it is well to our north and west. damage reports through oklahoma with this boundary here. this front is one that's going

decided to sit during the national anthem to support the black lives matter matter movement. guess what a couple glasses of wine a day could actually be good for your health, but any more than that could have the opposite effect. that's according to a review of studies published in bmc medicine. the review found that people who had one or two alcoholic drinks a day reduced their risk of stroke by 8%. for people who had more to drink had an increased risk the risk for those who had more than 4 drinks a day jumped by 14%. outrage in texas after a symbol of combat injury, courage and bravery is found discarded in a dumpster, and now an army veteran is on the hunt to find who owns this purple heart. gary kennedy received a call about the purple heart and other medals that were found, and now kennedy's trying to figure out who jim c carter is. the world war ii veteran who

drier times. warmer this morning than we were yesterday, and that continues to be the case. i think we'll turn humid as well. get ready for a completely different pattern here. today increasing clouds, a couple of showers by afternoon, we'll be about 81, and then we'll really warm things up tomorrow. we'll talk more about that in your forecast next. good morning everybody. we have a crash in st. pete northbound 275 just before you get to 38th avenue north. you can see a lot of flashing lights there. looks like we have some roadblocks in the outside lanes. this we're really not seeing any delays through st. pete. take a look at this, again, northbound we're still up to 66 miles an hour. that's pretty good considering that accident is blocking a lane there. but we'll keep our eye on it. i expect we will start to see some delays there shortly. we're still watching this crash in ruskin, southbound u.s. 41 at fox police, you're going to want to use old u.s. 41 or i-75 to work your way around that. back to you.

right now dan, police are still looking for two gunmen who shot up a new orleans party in the famous french quarter. >> authorities are now identifying the man killed in that shooting as 25-year-old demontris oliver of new orleans. officers say they don't think he was the intended target. two men started fighting early sunday when -- they started firing on bourbon street. ten people should survive, though. that shooter then ran away. police haven't made any arrests but have some strong leads. a man allegedly shoplifts from a new port richey target, then runs into the parking lot and hurts an 82-year-old woman. this morning he's behind bars. cameron conca is now behind bars, police say that he took several hundred dollars worth of items from target saturday

a loss prevention manager confronted conca just outside of the store. that's when police say he took off running slamming into that woman knocking her to the ground and ultimately breaking her hip. there's no word yet on the charges conca could face. a lot of you are going to be surfing the web today looking to score deep discounts online. two of the best bargains, target is taking 15% off almost everything on top of its sale prices and amazon deals on electronics and a tip to save you more money. if you leave items in your virtual shopping cart, some stores will then e-mail you extra discounts to encourage you to check out. those include jcpenney, office max, bed, bed, bath and beyond. at 6:45 we're getting an inside look at amazon. just like many of us, president-elect donald trump also back home this morning after the long holiday week.

spent the holiday at his florida resort, and he's wasting no time getting back to work with a day packed with meetings. that's happening today. here's a look at who he's set to talk to, many of them prospective white house and cabinet picks. mr. trump is also weighing in on his own concerns about the election tweeting that millions of people voted illegally. he's claiming if you deduct them, he actually won the popular vote. trump won the electoral college vote of course hillary clinton won the popular vote. this morning goggle is trying to figure out why this happened. take a look, trump tower in new york city changed to dump tower on google maps. the change showed up saturday, other media outlets report another new york trump location has also changed to this name. the proper names of both buildings were restored on sunday morning.

americans airlines flight record the moment their plane makes an emergency landing. the pilot saying the plane lost an engine midair. that flight left from dallas heading to las vegas and had to make an unscheduled stop in albuquerque. it's not clear what caused the engine failure. happening today, governor rick scott is highlighting new jobs at one hillsborough county business. governor scott will be at blue grace logistics. we told you about the fast- growing company in river view specializing in shipping. its big goal is to people to moving goods, that's with companies that need to move them. the governor is highlighting job growth there this afternoon at 3:00. and this afternoon, sarasota county celebrates the completion of a major road improvement project. the county spent $20 million to turn bee ridge road between iona road and montloa boulevard into a four-lane divided highway complete with bike lanes and a 10-foot wide sidewalk. that celebration happens at 2:00 at the colonial oaks

out who won that huge power ball jackpot. unfortunately no winners here in florida. that lucky person is from tennessee. and we really mean lucky. one ticket sold in lafayette, tennessee, matched all six power ball numbers drawn saturday night. that jackpot, dan, $421 million. according to lottery rules, you know, tennessee has sold 200 tickets that are worth $1 million or more. i'm sorry about that. the largest jackpot went to a couple earlier this year in january. it's nearly time to venture to a galaxy far, far away. the next star wars film rogue 1 won't arrive in bay area theaters until december 16th, but advanced ticket sales begin today. story-wise rogue 1 takes place just before the original 1997 star wars film. it explains how a group of

abcactionnews.com. at 6:46, we're also breaking down just how much you and the rest of america spent on the thanksgiving holiday weekend. the good news for the economy analysts say just over 5 and a quarter billion dollars was spent online thursday and friday. that is an increase of nearly 18% from last year. bad news americans spent on average about $289 per person over the four-day holiday, and that is down 3 1/2 percent from 2015. analys internet deals earlier than ever this year. looking ahead to today, americans were expected to spend about $3.36 billion, which would have been the largest online shopping day ever, but that appears less likely now with so many deals and so many people shopping online thursday and friday. and today is not just about conquering the christmas shopping list, it may also be a good day to book a trip. experts say slow summer travel sales should result in big air fare and hotel deals.

first week of december. trips to the caribbean and europe are expected to be quite inexpensive. this is the time of year many people look for part-time jobs to make more money for the holidays. now there's a warning about a mystery shopper scam. stephanie applied and a week later tull received a check for $3000. the instructions said she would make $350 for evaluating banks. well, then she got and searched online to learn it was a phony check scam. now stephanie is warning others. >> that could be somebody's last little bit of money they have or a single mom struggling, you know, that could be her last little bit of cash. >> another version of this scam asks you to buy prepaid gift cards to test the store's gift card counter but the checks from these scams bounce and you end up sending your own money to a scammer. to find out if a mystery shopper job is legit you want

low 50s up to the north, the exception really the rest of us in the upper 50s, 60 at apollo beach and just a sign of things tocome, we're running 5 to 10 degrees above yesterday. southeast wind will bring us not just higher temperatures but higher moisture as well. it's going to feel a little sticky the next few days until this front that's right across the midsection o. country moves through. it will stall to the north and west. that will slow down, and won't get here until thursday. until then warm and humid will be the rule and then eventually we'll get into drier and cooler air, which will take us back to where we should be this time of the year. low to mid-80s, that is above average here. we're going to continue that. as the front comes in on thursday, rain chances around 30%, right, behind it though that's the key, in time for the weekend friday, heading into saturday, sunday, we'll have temperatures back into the mid-

6:55, going back to breaking news we're following in hillsborough county. fire crews working to put out this fire. it just broke out at an odessa home. action air 1 over the scene right now. erik waxler on the ground just arrived there a few minutes ago. what are >> reporter: yeah, this is the silver dollar golf club community here in odessa, and a devastating morning for everybody that lives here. people watching in disbelief. this is the scene right now as firefighters from hillsborough county work to put this fire out. i have not seen any more flames in the last few minutes, but you can see thick black smoke still rising up, and look at the front of this mobile home where the siding is just melted
