and in houston a 24-year-old iraqi man was charged woo providing material support to isis. their refugee status is sparking new criticism from republicans that the u.s. is not doing enough to screen refugees for potential ties to terrorism. the governor of texas urging president obama to halt the flow of refugees until there is, quote, an effective vetting process. the lieutenant governor of texas weighing in saying it may have prevented a catastrophic terror related event in the making and saved countless lives and the u.s. attorney's office tells our station in sacramento there is a connection between the two men but would not elaborate further. both expected to be in their respective corrs today. >> this definitely will be fuel on the campaign trail no doubt. >> yeah. >> lana zak in washington for us. >> also this morning, these arrests in the u.s. are coming on the same day as a foiled attack in paris by a man pledging allegiance to isis.

endorsement. we know pizza isn't that great for us. now it turns out that the pizza boxes could be harmful to your health. the fda is banning three chemicals used in those boxes saying they could cause cancer and birth defects. so, the chemicals are used as a sealant to keep the pizza grease from seeming through the box. but researchers now say those sealants can be absorbed by the pizza. mcdonald's has a new look using big bold colors in its packaging. the company says the modernized graphics are part of its plan to be a modern and progressive burger company. mcdonald's also says it is committed to making sure that all of its packaging is made with eco friendly materials and they plan on doing that by the year 2020. >> all right. okay, so when we come back, the greatest gift a parent can give. what is it? this grandmother who gave birth to her own granddaughter. low rider.

tonya couch is accused of helping a felon, her son, ethan avoid apprehension and was brought from los angeles yesterday in handcuffs and leg irons. ethan remains in mexico fighting his extradition. her attorney says the $1 million bail is unreasonable and wants it reduced. a texas woman in her 50s has given birth to her own granddaughter acting as a surrogate for her daughter and son-in-law. tracy thompson delivered a healthy 6 pound 11 ounce girled named kelsey wednesday afternoon. the baby's parents had undergone several infertility treatments only to suffer three miscarriages. thompson says she was happy to carry the baby for her daughter. >> her and her husband have gone through so much, the miscarriages and the fertility and all that and i didn't want to disappoint her. it's been many years since i've been pregnant and the second trimester was great. there. the first and the third were
