the crash forced troopers to shut down lanes, backing up traffic during the rush hour commute. >> reporter: troopers were able to clear the busy intersection to allow a line of cars through, and i spoke to the victims of the crash, and they said the driver and his passenger who caused the crash took off. >> it was crazy. you could see the parts flying. >> reporter: jose is still shaken up after the crash. we were there were the lanes were closed at 6:00 tonight, and victims are still seeking answers. >> the two guys ran off and ran away. >> reporter: eyewitnesses said the driver responsible took off running with his passenger and left behind this mess along with several people who were injured. >> this is just ridiculous. >> reporter: we asked troopers how many vehicles were involved, and they told us six. orange county fire and rescue said five people were taken to

men involved in a deadly shooting on new year's eve. anthony dawson is charged with first-degree murder, and investigators say the suspects opened fire outside of pearl street. they are still searching for another suspect, named andre mayo. the deland man accused of raping the same woman three time in the same week is free on bond. his bail was $150,000. his alleged accomplice, daria hill, who is accused of holding the victim down in one of the attacks is being held on a $100,000 bond. new tonight, we know the name of the man who died after being hit by an amtrak train today near downtown orlando. 26-year-old samuel torres was hit by a rain just north of the ynks bus station, and it also caused traffic problems for several hours. >> it's very sad, and it's like, who is that person?

sexted off this amtrak train downtown after orlando police and fire responded to a person struck by a train just after 2:00 this afternoon. rescue crews arrived and found the victim died from his injuries. >> everyone knows that they struck a pedestrian. >> reporter: amtrak says the victim may have intentionally been laying on the tracks when he was intentionally hit by the train. >> he said it was going to be 3 hours, and i was going to pick him up at the winter park station. talking to him on the phone, he was very emotional. >> reporter: steve was originally supposed to pick up his 74-year-old father, but when his father called him and said what happened, he raced over to try to get him off the train. >> just relax, and hopefully they will give you water. >> reporter: amtrak said they were not letting any of the 198 passengers off the train because there were no reported injuries on board. after traffic was shut down for close to 4 hours, operations

today deputies arrested ferrin cohan. this pickup truck crashed and caught on fire, and you can see the firefighters working to put out the flames it happened near cedar grove road in oak hill. it happened after midnight, and the driver was killed after hitting a pole and a tree. breaking in the last half an hour, fhp troopers are investigating a car crash in orange county that killed a pedestrian. it happen at pine hills road and white haren drive. pine hills is closed in both directions right now. the driver is on the scene and is cooperating. we have a recorder on the way to the scene. we will keep you updated date -- we have a reporter on the way to the scene. we will keep you updated. bernie sanders is now neck and neck with hillary clinton in iowa. and he is winning in new hampshire. her campaign sent out e-mails telling the staff the race is seriously tight.

we continue to follow breaking news in orange county. troopers are investigating a car crash in orange county that killed a pedestrian. it's a live look at the scene. we first told you about this at the top of the hour. it was at the intersection of pine hills road and white baron drive. pine hills is currently closed in both directions, and the driver has stayed on the scene and is cooperating. we will, of course, be covering the latest developments on the a.m. tonight, people in southwest florida are picking up the pieces after a powerful tornado touched down last night. you can see the damage left

flash . volusia county firefighters were able to stop a car from crashing into the a pool today. 9:00 today. you see the two wheels are barely in the water. it was next to a home, but there's no word on the condition of the driver. the orlando eye will be reopened today after being shut down for days. it closed for annual maintenance. a spokesperson said the routine maintenance is normally completed overnight, but crews were able to work on larger projects with the checkup. it will reopen for good on thursday. beginning tomorrow, building a new home in lake county will cost you more money for the new adjusted educational fees. they will be used to support schools and a growing population.

new mobile homes. multifamily homes will be $8,000 extra, and fees on a single family home will be more than $9,000. a local congressman is hoping to combat human trafficking in brevard county. to raise awareness, bill posse will host a conference on combating trafficking. local experts will talk about florida's efforts to curb the problem and how to prevent it. it will be held at eastern florida state college at 7:30 a.m. to noon. volusia county teachers will be back at the table tomorrow bargaining for a raise. the collective bargaining sessions have been going on for a year. teachers reduced their wage requests to 3%. if an agreement is not met, they are threatening to stop using their own time to do extra work.
