volusia county deputies say work-release inmates cut off his gps and took off from this resort. now the searches on to take him back into custody. a man is serving time for a long list of crimes and on the streets as deputies say he never returned to a work- release center. >> jeff is live where the suspect was last seen.

work this morning at this hotel and resort. he just disappeared in the afternoon. i talked to deputies tonight and they're not sure what direction he had. >> reporter: gary bullock was nine months away from being released from prison in daytona beach. after today it appears that sentence will be longer. this afternoon the volusia county sheriff told me he was out on work-release and cut off his gps monitor. at the hotel where he worked for maintenance. and then walked away. he was supposed to return by 5 pm to the work-release center but never showed up. officials told me that he arrived at the hotel for work

vanished just after 3 pm. according to records bullet was serving time for property, attempted robbery with a weapon, grand theft and other charges. we did a story back in 2009 on him when he was arrested for a home invasion. i asked the authorities if they thought that bullock was armed and dangerous. they could not tell me but they did say that they did not consider him a flight risk. if you know where he is contact the local authorities. reporting from daytona beach. we will stay on top of the search for the escaped inmate throughout the night and have any new development on eyewitness news this morning tomorrow starting at 5 am . temperatures are falling across central florida as we get ready for a very chilly weekend. >> tom terry is tracking this cold blast. the wind chill is going to be a

seaboard are preparing for a massive snowstorm. let's look at the white house that is just getting buried in snow. we are seeing whiteout conditions in nation's capital. many areas from atlanta to boston are expecting several inches of snow over the next few hours. the storm is so bad airlines have canceled more than 6000 flights for today and tomorrow. the snowstorm is also causing several cancellations at orlando international airport. almost 30 flights in and out have either been delayed or canceled. most of those are heading to new york, philadelphia and atlanta. if you are catching a flight this weekend check it out first. you can go to the flight status section of our website to check it out . we are hearing the property appraiser stands by his decision to close in office following a physical incident between employee and a homeless man. we told you daytona beach has been dealing with a growing

with a forged signature on the title. tonight new records from sanford show the pebbles connected to a brutal apartment attack were not properly taken care of. on tuesday we told you two women were badly injured when the dogs attacked them inside the apartment. 11 woman remains in critical condition. shows there was the -- there was another attack in december. at that time animal services says police told the dog's owner either needed to give up the animals or be arrested for animal cruelty. the pebbles eventually returned and then this happened. osceola county commissioners say they're moving forward with a proposed incentive-based policy to encourage businesses to pay their employees a living wage. we told you last year about a plan that would require county employees and workers for businesses and agencies that have county contracts to be paid about $11.66 an hour. that plan was tabled in september for commissioners say they will discuss a final policy at a future meeting . investigators hope technology will help them find

today jennifer kesse -- jennifer kesse's family spoke out about this case in a news conference. there have been many tips and searches but so far investigators have not been able to figure out what happened to her. >> if you have done something with her that she is no longer with us give us the opportunity to bring jennifer home where she belongs. >> this family has been through so much. now this week new digital billboards went up with her photo. investigators are submitting evidence from her car in hopes that advances in technology will bring them leads. a former elementary school teacher remains in jail tonight on sexual battery charges after a student said he molested her years ago.

200 pages of documents regarding donald sharp's history with orange county public schools. the documents show in an unrelated incident the principal was aware that sharp was allowing students to sit on his lap while he read from the dictionary. it appeared this was common practice. he was not charged with a crime in those cases. the man who crashed into a state trooper cruiser will not be spending the weekend in jail. juan torres bonded out earlier today after he was arrested and charged with dui. troopers say he blew through the red light overnight on sand lake road. on sand lake road. they say that is when he hit a state trooper. neither torres nor the trooper suffered injuries. newly released evidence in a murder. channel 9 is live outside that apartment building . those pictures show evidence

otherwise spotless apartment. >> reporter: the discovery released today shows the evidence that police collected to lead them to their suspect. the security guard stephen duxbury, the guard hired to protect residents here. police started gathering evidence inside sasha samsudean's neat and tidy apartment after finding her lifeless body in her bed october 17. pictures show a clean and organized home but things like this lifted toilet seat in a single woman's apartment did not add up. duxbury, the security guard on site told officers he had seen sasha alive and intoxicated the night she died but insisted he never went inside her apartment. it a polygraph test with investigators and they asked him again if he entered her apartment at night. his response indicated deception. that cannot be presented before a jury as evidence, but his

lifted toilet seat can. beside her bed they found shoe prints that did not belong to the 27-year-old victim. detectives asked duxbury to provide shoes he wore the night she died and he gave them these . they did not match the prince in her home but when detectives served a search warrant on his messy apartment days later they found these shoes which turned out to be a match of the shoe prints your her bed. they also found a condom wrapper. perhaps most chilling, during the course of their investigation detectives photograph duxbury in his security uniform. they noticed scratches and bite marks they believe our defense wounds left behind by a young woman trying to fight off her attacker. duxbury remains behind bars alan l bob turk he does have a status hearing set for march. we are live downtown orlando tonight with channel 9

we talked to the orlando police chief today about a mysterious chase his officers were involved in outside the city which led to an internal investigation. officers are under investigation for chasing a stolen jeep into orange county without using lights or siren's and without telling anyone from opd they were doing it. i reported call between the dispatcher and the officer shows how upset the dispatcher was about being kept in the dark. >> i don't care what they do up. they are in the county as pine hills and silver star and i think they are on northlake. investigation. of the onset the disapproved of the pursuit. >> officers never mentioned the chase in their reports which was written six days after the incident . the claremont hotel fighting fines over sewage spills and neighbors they are

showing this altered badge along with handcuffs, told him his car was reported stolen. he could give it up or go to jail. the victim handed over the keys for later called authorities and helped create this composite sketch. the next day detectives found the vehicle at this east orlando car lot and told us the owner recognized the suspect as javier, his republican. the owner said he paid hobby or to go get the car but did not know how it was done. from there detectives i deed santiago who they say admitted to using the modified badge and cuffs to intimidate people. no one answered when we stopped by the victim's home tonight but just a few houses away we found the rest the relief. >> you won't be back here for a while. that is for sure.

us santiago does not have a license to repossess cars. he is being held on $55,000 bond and four charges including impersonating an officer. lake county teacher under fire because of a controversial lesson on racism she taught her first graders. on tuesday the charter school teachers split her kids up by eyecolor. children with blue eyes were treated nicely and given treats all children with round eyes were treated differently and were given treats. the principal says the lesson was never approved and should have never happened. >> i think this is something that does not warrant termination. i believe the teacher is very well aware that she made a bad judgment call. >> the teacher sent a letter to parents about the lesson but not until after it happened. the principle leads parents should have been given the

this would be raining cats and dogs if it were over us. if you convert it to snow, 1 inch of rain is about 10 inches to a foot of snow. this will all be wet sloppy snow and will be a mess along the upper parts of the northeast. welcome to winter. even atlanta is getting some snow flurries right now. light showers coming through tonight. it is not going to turn to snow. it is not cold enough for that. we will be watching out for a sprinkle moving in across the area. mostly cloudy with temperatures that have not started dropping that quickly yet but they will. by tomorrow what it will feel like when you factor in the northwest wind at about 15 miles an hour, when they are during the afternoon tomorrow. you can see it will feel like 30s and 40s.

a man charged with bigamy after his wife discovered he had a second wife will not face charges. he told you about this case in september for prosecutors have also filed false official statements against him. the state dropped the rarely prosecuted bigamy charge and gave him deferred adjudication for giving false statements. he will pay a fefo driver spend the next decade in prison. michelle's -- michelle simpkins told police she was high when she had aggression 2014.
