light rain is crossing in toward lake county and it has already crossed over the four corners area by poinciana, williamsburg is now moving in toward the - - international airport and those showers keep moving from the south to the north. we are still getting some rain along the east coast. showers continue and will be more prominent in the next two hours. martha? >> we just got video of an excessive course - - force case that led to an indictment by the us department of justice. those deputies were caught on camera beating a drug suspect. 10, the investigators are the suspect. >> this indictment is the latest

>> reporter: from this camera you can see the five deputies screaming at the suspect. you can also hear price yelling back. but this video does not show the whole story. surveillance video shows price running to the parking lot with deputies speeding behind him period and he is shown throwing up his hands and lying down. despite that, they swarm him and punch and kick him for 20 seconds straight. the video was just released because one of these deputies prices civil rights. the 33-year-old was fired last year and is now facing 10 years in prison and a $250,000 bond. the others resigned and already pled guilty. sheriff blair gave us a statement that says the abusive and unprofessional actions they displayed shocked me to the core and there was no hesitation for me to inform the florida department of law enforcement of their actions to immediately

request their resignation and termination. the day of the take down the dip he said they got these drugs and guns off your streets, but the bus was overshadowed - - bust was o vershadowed. and these deputies who already pled guilty are still waiting to be sentenced. we are getting a look at new evidence with a man charged of killing the owner of the lake try wiener. he's accused of shooting her and stealing her car last september and julie spent the day listening to the interview. detectives spent nearly one hour grilling him about the murder. >> reporter: this is a copy of the interview even to me by the state attorney's office but i

and not all of it is available to the media because it possibly contains a confession. in video released by the state attorney's office, andre seen on camera buying a gun period he told detectives after he was arrested that he wanted to use it to kill himself but police said instead he shot and killed a 60-year-old instead - - inside of the drycleaner inns - - in september. he was seen on camera where the murder happened. in an interview he called himself evil. >> do you feel remorse for what you did today? yes? [ crying ] >> i can't believe i did that period i don't even know what happened. >> reporter: a crime scene investigator and to the cleaners after the murder. schiano told detectives he wanted to use the restroom and the victim said no and he got angry. >> he stood outside for a long time and it seemed like forever. all i could think why wouldn't you just using - - let me use

>> you could see the ripped clothing. and when he was asked if he heard her he said he must have and when he asked - - was asked if he killed her, he said he did not know. he admitted to having a gun and lactic - - zip ties in his backpack. >> is she dead? [ crying ] is she alive? can you tell me? [ crying ] >> what is the last thing that you remember? >> i don't know. i told you already, i don't know. >> he remains in jail. prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. a man is being held without bond today after a talking to duck it - - deputies with a metal baton. he is being charged with two counts of murder. the deputies were responding to a domestic disturbance when they say francis pulled out that baton.

>> it was an attempted first- degree murder. at against anybody it is a serious crime but against a law enforcement officer, they provided sentencing enhancements based on that. >> the woman - - woman deputies tried to help is also faced with a charge of trying to help. johnson interfered with the arrest. violent crimes are up. he talked about an increase in homicides, sexual offenses and aggravated assaults. homicides went to 32 in 2015. >> we had an unusually low year and we have had the same amount of homicides in 2014 as we did in 1966, just 15.

from the five-year average. he said armed robbery and property crimes are down significantly. a woman who sued casey anthony for defamation is now accused of stealing a cancer patients credit card. and she accused a nanny of kidnapping her daughter in 2008 and her lawsuit was thrown out. now deputies say gonzales and another man stole a credit card while working in a motel and cleaning rooms there. she is charged with credit card theft and grand theft. it may soon become harder for you to put - - petition - - under the proposed rules, petitioners would have to wear a badge identifying if they were volunteering or getting paid to collect signatures. at this hour, homeless people are still camping out in front of the volusia county and ministration building. it's day two of the program there. playing tolson went to the

you asked if he plans to step into resolve the issue. >> reporter: the sheriff told me he is involved but also warned that law enforcement could make this situation worse depending on what they do. not everyone is here to cause trouble. but police have been out here 200 times over the last week. and last night they made four arrests. the temporary shelter could be in the works in daytona beach but as of today, nearly 100 homeless are still gathered on beach street. over the last 42 days there has been only talk about solutions is the growing crowd becomes more of a public safety concern. we went to benjamin johnson who is working with the city and county on a solution. >> how much longer can this go on for something that happens out there? >> in order to make action, you

>> city officials want the shelter opened by the end of this week but if the homeless are moved, he could go somewhere else instead of a shelter period so you don't want to make the situation worse and you could easily do that. >> homeless advocates have found shelter for over 40 homeless people here. but more are showing no files showing up every day. >> i spoke to a woman who came all the way from orlando. people are obviously not happy about the situation. but our legal analyst said that the city does have to have the shelter in place before anybody leaves. the mother of a a man gunned down in 2014 spoke to the court after a plea deal that one gunman escaped the death penalty. he pled guilty to second-degree murder and possession of cocaine.

he and his twin gunned down a man in 2014. and his twin was found guilty in october and sentenced to life in prison. in court today the victim's mom says she forgives the brothers in hopes they find god in prison. >> this is our journey. i hope they think about what we have gone through. so the victim robbed one brother and had a series of drug arrests. he also had cocaine on him. detectives believe a husband killed his wife before setting their home on fire and kill himself. he shot his 72-year-old wife on saturday in a home at the siesta mobile home park. - - investigators say they both

a man opened fire on a suspected hit and run driver. if former police are - - police officer said it was nerve- racking as he shot out his own tires to prevent an accused hit and run driver from stealing his car to get away from crashes. the good samaritan said neil - - lunged at him aggressively period a teacher has been suspended tonight for allegedly giving her special needs students too much help on standardized test. - - tests. she was caught on camera taking tests for her disabled students. state officials have specific guidelines for giving tests to disabled children and she did not follow them and she was accused of being on her phone and leaving her room with testing materials just sitting out. four of the students tests have been thrown out and she was suspended for 20 days without pay.

division of election today. covering news where you live, in orange county a man tried to stop thieves from raking into cars in lake nona and ended up the victim of the shooting. deputies say he saw two men trying to get into cars on park commons drive at 11:30 and surveillance cameras capture the moment that they are - - opened fire and shot the man twice. neighbors heard the gunshot and so their injured friend running away. >> my wife looked out the window and saw our friend bubbling home. >> reporter: tonight that man is in the hospital and suspects are on the run. deputies have not released the a disruption of them or the getaway car. a man is in jail and is accused of operating a marijuana grow house.

him by an investigator. deputies say the home had been converted into a growing operation with higher powered lights and watering system. school leaders are looking to lawmakers to help them pay for new schools and they are going to need $117 million to build new schools and expand a high school. extra space is needed to handle growth. they receive fees when new homes are built but they say it's not enough to cover all costs. they are asking lawmakers to reestablish a special grant program. >> hope the state will help us generate more funding. >> they predict schools will be at 99% capacity in the next year or two period lawmakers . lawmakers get the final say on the extra money. that was great sweeping - -

>> you have to check the models and the rain. i officially went to sleep. in downtown orlando, the rain has moved back in. we have been tracking some clouds and the showers have brought some - - some of the low clouds. it has been steady today and all of the higher totals fell this morning. daytona beach also had record rain today. record rain in melbourne and even in orange county at the international airport. here is the set up for tonight period . we have a week front to the south. and we even had some tornadoes down south. this front will eventually push out by late tomorrow and in the meantime we have a stable environment. the atmosphere is very calm. we will get showers marching in

turnpike including downtown orlando and in the next 45 minutes or so, it will be moving past the villages. a pocket is moving in now and downtown just started raining and it goes all the way south along the turnpike. it is going to be wet. future track has nailed this so far. it is slowly migrating northward. we will not see the heavy rain that we saw earlier today. lower to middle 60s across the area tonight and upper 50s to the north, a lot of cloud cover tomorrow and isolated storms in the afternoon, and generally with temperatures the school we won't see much in the way of active weather. still some scattered rain until around 3:00 and then starting to move out after that. here is the future track showing showers moving through tonight and breaking up a little bit tomorrow.
