he tracked down the nephew of the club's owner who revealed he is in california. >> he told me his uncle went to the super bowl yesterday and he plans on being there and away from this club all week. it has been nearly 48 hours since that deadly shooting and we still have not found out much information from police. tonight we went to the commissioner for this district to find out what he is doing about it. >> do you think they should close their doors until the chief finishes his investigation? >> that is a good question. i don't have all of the information concerning the incident. commissioner samuel innings tonight about this nightclub. let's ultra lounge sits in his district off universal boulevard. it is where bullets went flying early sunday morning, injuring nearly a dozen and killing two. >> it is a tragic situation. >> reporter: state records show apopka residents mcknight owns the nightclub. we called him and we never got an answer. reach out to relatives.'s

investigators told us the shooting was not random. claremont police are still searching for the gunman who shot and killed a man outside a publix last week. leaving shoppers on edge. >> i was shocked because nothing ever happens over here. >> police say 21-year-old andrew davon jones was shot and investigators are searching for the car he was last seen driving like this one with this license plate. detectives believe the suspect could have used it to get away. it may be in the orange county air. woman his other was shot to death a couple of years ago is working full-time to stop gun violence like we have seen across central florida over the past few days. geneva jones started a nonprofit called put your guns down, put your hands up after her brother was shot to death in 2013. she says we all need to work together to stop shootings like the ones that happened this weekend. she says that is the tough part. >> it is very slow.

me or what i was about. it was as if it didn't make a difference to them. >> jones is planning a rally against gun violence outside orlando city hall at the end of the month. developing tonight, a teenager in critical condition after police say a fight between a group of students got out of hand and one of them pulled out a knife. >> a 16-year-old stabbed another teenager multiple times. >> reporter: daytona police chief was angry about the stabbing of a 17-year-old here in the yard in daytona beach earlier today. he believes it is all because of bullying and that one team take it to -- took it too far. the thousand block of sheridan road in daytona beach was quiet tonight but earlier a group of teenagers turned this yard from a street fight into a crime scene.

school pulled a knife out and a stab a 17-year-old who was trying to rake up the fight. >> this is absolutely ridiculous that you have a bunch of medical school kids get in the fight in a 10th grader gets into it and somebody is stabbed three times. >> reporter: victim was stabbed twice in the abdomen and once in the facebook a 16-year-old was arrested as the suspect in this stabbing. the chief does not know what led up to the stabbing today but says something has been going on in the neighborhood here the last several weeks. >> the older kids, the high school kids are picking on the middle schoolers and today the 10th grader decided to pull out a knife and escalate what is some type of bullying going on. >> reporter: i talked to a seventh grader who was involved in today's fight. >> i was scared. i didn't know he really had a knife on him. he just pulled out. >> reporter: the boy's mother told me her son and a on the street have been bullied by a bunch of high school kids. many of which don't even live here. >> i am so concerned about my

young man at the hospital. this is a little boy that could have lost his life over foolishness. >> reporter: we still don't know the name of the suspect or the victim. we will continue to follow this story and have the latest on eyewitness news online or beginning at 5 am. reporting live in daytona beach with channel 9 eyewitnesses. the city of orlando is looking to update his investigates uncovered asbestos in one of the buildings is for training. we told you this abandoned apartment complex used for live fire training had a tiles with cancer-causing asbestos. the union president told us at least 12-15 firefighters came into close contact with hazardous material. >> it could be years down the line if somebody develops something but at least they will have the documentation that says he was training in an atmosphere with asbestos. but

exposure was minimal and not risky. the mayor told us ofd will stop using buildings built before 1980 until they are inspected. orlando will be following orange county's recent actions and dropping trash pickup service down to once a week in certain neighborhoods. the city announced their starting a pilot program that begins february 22 and should last about six months. mailers will go out soon but we were the first to tell folks in the affected areas today. >> if the homeowner does give the homeowner more own it -- more notice. let us know what is going on and what is expected of us in the rollout of the pilot program. >> while trash services being reduced, recyclables will be picked out more often. the city says its goal is to increase recycling use ef got a big backing from orlando commissioners today to put a campus downtown. the council approving an incentive package valued at about $75 million.

we told you windy gene in was hired to promote the parkway. her husband works for the county road and bridge manager. commissioners say because he was not a decision-maker in the contract does not collect a paycheck from the company they did nothing wrong. some seminal county teachers are refusing to work outside of the school day. these teachers at crystal lake element tree school began what they call working to the contract today, meaning they will only work there contracted hours. the union has been in contract negotiations since with the district for months but neither side has settled on teacher raises. union leaders say by working to the contract teachers will not be putting in up to 20 hours out the clock each week. they are wearing red and asking students to wear red to show their support. kazumi kah police are taking proactive steps to make sure you don't get ripped off at the gas pump. last week we told you two skimmers were found at separate

now police will do a sweep of all of the gas stations in the city to ensure there are no other skimmers. crooks use skimmers to capture your credit and debit card information. stamper police have arrested a man who pretended to be a teenager on facebook to pray on a girl. levi rains is accused of raping the 17-year-old girl last february. investigators say rains added her as a friend on facebook and messaged her. he came to her home, picked her up and took her to his uncle's house where the crime happened. police found rains through his facebook page. with several cases of zika reported in florida including one in osceola county the governor claims he has a plan to keep residents and tourists say. today scott told us he is working closely with the cdc and the florida department of agriculture to make sure the virus doesn't spread in florida. so far there are 16 confirmed cases of zika virus in florida and a declare public health emergency in some counties.

a leesburg school closed tomorrow because so many students and staff have the flu symptoms. school leaders as a call at school are now disinfecting rooms based on health department wipe down procedures. classes are set to resume on wednesday. parents against two propose charter schools gathered at two different locations to express concerns about the project. our cameras were rolling both outside avalon middle school and at founders square drive this afternoon. protesters held signs and passed out flyers to inform other residents about the plans for the schools. they told us traffic will be a nightmare. next week orange county commissioners are scheduled to meet to discuss the future of the schools. the fbi is trying to stop terrorism in its tracks starting with parents and children. >> don't believe it's not going to happen to you. >> the new tool to stop children being exposed to isis recruiters that you can use in your home. i am tracking rain and we could see some frost or freeze

>> reporter: the computer program you're looking at is a new tool to fight terrorism in the frontline is a classroom. fbi special agent david says the threat is real. >> we start looking at things like san bernardino and we have an individual who was raised here, from here and he gets radicalized. >> reporter: he met us at a school run by the islamic society of central florida. just the kind of place where leaders say this new program will be an invaluable resource. >> parents are always asking us how do i do this? how do i do that? parents don't have the technical skills to deal with this challenge. >> when the program explores everything about extremism. what it is and how terrorists target children online. there is no business on social media. and violent gaming websites were terrorist groups may find children especially vulnerable to radicalization. >> they get into this mindset

county of the book. today we found out several high schools in one middle school in brevard county and several high schools in lake county have the book in their libraries there are no plans to pull it from those schools. if more cities get on board we could soon be using our cell phones to ease traffic in central florida. we told to congressman john mica proposed a program that would place sensors at intersections. the sensors would use toll transponders or cell phones to count how many cars are passing by. according to the number of cars lights would adjust in real- time to ease congestion's. this editor bill nelson asking the ntsb to investigate circumstances that led to a royal caribbean ship to sail right into a forecast winter storm. the cruise line has said the wind speeds were higher than forecasted. four people aboard the anthem of the seas were

he never hit the ground and walked away and will be a red. these pictures show him stuck in the power lines. officials say carlos esperanza was in the middle of a training exercise when he drifted into the lines. emergency crews were able to cut the power in the area and safely cut him down without anyone being shocked or electrocuted. two years after man was killed by a hit-and-run driver police have finally named a suspect. the dear old raffaella duarte was hit and killed in castleberry in november in castleberry in november 2013. after the crash investigators were tipped off that a 61-year- old man might have accidentally hit duarte. manis was cooperative and said he did not know he had someone. he faces 15 years in prison. plans to expand the orlando sanford international airport. we got a look at renderings for four investigates with an estimated cost of about $45 million.
