deadly shooting early sunday morning at the glitz nightclub off i-drive. concerns about security. kathi belich spoke to the eyewitness and he saw people around him being shot. >> reporter: an eye witness who took cell phone video of the chaos that night said one police officer at least was with the security guards at the front door as people were being searched for weapons but never saw the officer check anyone's ankles and a survivor is looking into suing over security issues. orlando police say there were three men who got into the glitz ultra lounge and opened fire. one of the person shot was traumatized emotionally and physically. >> my client was directly next to somebody shot and killed.

what you need to prepare for. brian shields on eyewitness news this morning, rusty mccranie, on tv 27 starting at 7, we'll have wind chills in the 30s and 20s as we mentioned there is a went chill advisory and freeze warning to the north updating tonight's cold temperature in just a moment, martha. developing tonight we're hearing from parents of students at wekiwa high school because a student brought a gun on campus. deputies a 16-year-old had the weapon in a backpack and other students notified school officials about it. no one was hurt and the teen who brought the gun to school has not been identified. a sanford man was just charged with raping a 17-year-old girl nearly a year after the alleged victim came forward. 9 investigates it took seven months to get back the rape kit. tim barker is live and you asked if this is normal?

145 days here in florida to get a kit back from the lab unfortunately because there aren't enough people in the labs to handle the cases. in this case the victim was raped somewhere along state road 46 and investigators in this case say they sent that evidence to get tested right away. if levi does not look 19, it's because he's not. sanford detectives say that did not stop the 35-year-old from posing as a teenager on facebook to meet a 17-year-old. the girl says she figured out he lied so she kept her distance but detectives say he showed up at her house, took her to another house and raped her last year and he was just arrested. >> i was wondering if levi was around? >> reporter: this house was listed as rains, but the woman behind the door says he lives on his own. do you think he's capable of raping anybody? >> no, i do not. >> reporter: we wondered why the case took nearly a year and

an investigation raised concerns about intending in the office and at the moment we're taking a closer look at why auditors had a tough time obtaining spending records. tonight a 13-year-old boy who was accidentally shot by his cousin on sunday has died. we've learned earlier today that fisher was the stepson of a deputy. an investigative report indicates the cousin who pulled the trigger, brandon lewis, admitted to riding the gun on a honboard and lost his balance -- hoverboard and lost his balance while the gun went off. waste pro is the city's garbage hauler and new bids will be was in soon. tonight, channel 9's shannon butler looks at the issue and what the commission had to say about the money affecting or vote in the future. >> water pro is the company that picks up garbage in winter park.

she did accept it in the small window between the rfp's, but she'll likely vote on the contract soon. she sent us this e-mail today saying it was only yesterday that it was made clear to the commissioners that there would be a new bidding process. strange, and she understood that back in december before she took the check. she told us she didn't have to but is going to return the money. in the name of transparency. i would like to be clear, the this would never influence my vote as a commissioner. that is not keeping with my character. channel 9 eyewitness. >> the city says there will be no delay in garbage pick up in winter park. the new request for proposal would be out by the end of the month. a school in lake county closed because so many students and staff came down with the flu.

school spent the day cleaning and -- catholic school spent the day cleaning and disipfecting. they've seen up to 50 new cases a week. and new charges will be filed against a man who shot and killed his neighbor. ratliff and his live in girlfriend got an argument on southwest 100 8th street in ocala. his girlfriend went next door to help, and the neighbor grabbed his gun, got into a fight with ratliff and shot him. police say pentgraph was in fear of his life. and a petition was shot down by the community board last year, but there's been an effort to res rukt it online

around thanks to a new warning system and channel 9's michael low pard i learned -- lopard i learned work is on the issue. >> reporter: it's one of 14 vehicles caught heading in the wrong direction on local expressways just in the past year. >> that's too many. way too many. >> reporter: the central florida expressway authority says all 14 drivers safely turned around without causing an accident. thanks in part to a new wrong way detection system. >> it's dangerous for everybody, not just for the people going the wrong way, but the people they're going against. >> the technology was installed at five ramps on the 408 and beach line in the last year as part of a pilot program. signs light up to tell drivers they're going the wrong way. it's a big problem accounting for nearly 300 calls in the last year and a half alone. >> most of the time you get the ones that are a little confused

in the u.s., in the region which includes florida, the number rose to 16%. experts believe it's the fully growing because of the number of crashes. today the county wrote off $6.8 million in unpaid transports but that doesn't mean the county won't try to recover some of the money. medicaid and medicare only cover a portion of the fees but privately insured and uninsured patients owe money. >> it grows as the rates grow up and whenever we have issues people captain pay their bills. >> and the issue is not exclusive to brevard county. this year brevard will transfer $7 million to cover ems costs. a state house panel approved a bill that would force districts to give charter schools more financial help. it would require districts to

a few of us in the 30s overnight tonight. but the winds are very strong. there's yet a second cold front that'll reenforce the cool air overnight tonight, but because of all the wind, it's going to be hard to really cool down. usually we have to have clear skies and light winds to get our really cold temperature. we'll have quite a bit of a breeze. 35 ocala. we'll see some areas getting near 32, especially in wind-protected areas, that's why there's freeze warning out for marion and flagler counties and osceola county, kissimmee, st. cloud, poinciana, osceola, heritage park, celebration, 42, but feeling like the 30s tonight. wind chill advisory out for all of us, and a freeze warning far to the north. here's are the lows tonight. this is not with the wind included, just a good old-fashioned temperatures. 34 in palm coast, 39 in leesburg, 33 in ocala. the forecast models coming in anywhere between 40 and 42 for

here comes yet another cold front. this will just reinforce, drop the dew points a little bit tonight. so the first cold front we're dealing with now, the second can cold front moves in tonight and front number 3, the trifecta, rolls into town on saturday. we'll again bring temperatures down a bit on sunday afternoon. overall very nice day, but breezy. up in deland, 54 degrees at 2 p.m., but wind chill factor in the 40s all the way through 1:00 in the afternoon, so it's going to be brisk. and mid-to-lower 50s, and the weekend always in view. we will get down into the mid-30s on thursday morning, and i do expect a wide are area of frost as far south as northwestern orange county on thursday morning, as well. if you don't have your plans covered up probably don't need to tonight, but tomorrow night it's going to be one of these plants and pets kind of nights. 62 on thursday, 73, that's
