the 27-year-old suspect had nothing to say as he was taken off to jail. he was involved in a previous crash near i-4 and colonial drive and then slammed into this blue grande avenue. the homeowner said his daughter and the bedroom when the car slammed into it. >> that's okay. the house can be replace ed d as long as my kids are fine. >> where are you going to go tonight? >> we're waiting to see what's going to take place with the insurance company and all that. you know, we're prepared for whatever happens. >> we just found out the homeowner's insurance is putting them up in a hotel. we'll let you know when investigators release more information. it was another day in the 50s but we're in for more chilly weather tonight. >> we're monitoring frost and freeze warnings by the morning. tom, it seems as if we'll hit the 30s tonight.

50s and we are cooling down quickly. once we die the winds down after 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. is when the temperatures will fall quickly. we already lost 10 miles per hour on our wind gusts. winds already backing off. freeze warning to the north including all of sumter, northern parts of lake, volusia, marion and flagler county. a frost advisory for the rest of us. not everybody getting frost but the out lying areas a light freeze possible up around apopka. lots of 30s including melbourne and palm bay at 34 and and 32 in deland. agents are expecting to see more drug busts after the heroin take down today. carla ray spoke to investigators about the rise in heroin-related crimes. do they think it was as bad as the pill mill crisis they saw a few years back?

closing of those pill mills that heroin would come to the forefront. that's what investigators have been telling us. they said more raids on places like this one here today could help stop an epidemic before it gets started. >> these 10 mug shots are the latest proof of an on going effort to prevent florida's pill mill epidemic to reincarnate itself. >> it's heroin now. >> we told you about orange county's heroin task force but this round up was done with the high intensity drug trafficking area program. the program has been around since 1998. since then it's funding has tripled and new there's a dedicated $3 million to fight drug trafficking in central florida. >> the pill mills are going away, the opiate addicts will get heroin into their systems.

150 officers on stake outs tracking accused drug dealers including this 74-year-old wheelchair bound woman who is accused of pushing two kilos of heroin a month out of the condo the backs up to the cul-de-sac. we got a picture of everything taken from the group. local and federal agents said if there's for of this on your streets they plan to clean it up. >> we will continue our efforts and continue to go after those who are selling the poison to our families in orange county. >> reporter: and speaking of continuing to go after those people, investigators tell us they are still looking for one other person who is allegedly involved in this operation. we will let you known when that person is arrested. in orange county, carla ray, channel 9, eyewitness news. two apopka women are used of beating an elderly man who lives down the street to get his pain pills.

there when they were arrested this afternoon. 74-year-old ronald hollingsworth let them into his house after she claimed she was locked out of hers. a few minutes later investigators say she unlocked a door and let in her girlfriend and then deputies say she started hitting the man with a cutting board. >> he said last night in the hospital just the sound of that cutting board hitting me on the head rings in my ears. >> i bet. neighbors told eyewitness news they were caring for two children. dcf said it has placed the younger one now with a family friend. we're working to find out who is caring for the older one. sanford police are searching for an armed man that broke into a home and attacked a woman. it happened at 3:00 in this area on magnolia and palmetto neighborhood. they're working to draw a sketch of the suspect. no word on the condition of the victim.

over time costs at the orange county sheriff's office 911 center has doubled in the last year. michael laparty learned it will be the first of its find in recent memory. >> what is the location of the emergency? >> she's breathing >> the sheriff's communication center is where you know -- is one of the busiest. >> we learned over time costs nearly doubled from $392,000 in 2014 to $772,000 in 2015. the sheriff put out these documents asking for an outside consultant to come in and look at scheduling. they said there's always over time available because of sick. >> the county wants the

employees should start, how long they should work and how to best staff the center as it deals with an increasing number of calls. >> turn over at this center is around 18%. to the sheriff's office they said that's near industry standard but higher than they would like. >> we asked why the sheriff wants a consultant for the job rather than do it in house. the sheriff is looking for way to provide 911 service and been proactive in recruiting new employees. the question is to how best schedule them as more people call for help. >> michael la party, channel 9, eyewitness news. >> they could select someone next month. eatonville city leaders told us the entire town is under a boil water notice. they believe the cold weather may is caused a water main to break along kennedy boulevard. part of kennedy will be closed until tomorrow for repairs. now all

the driveway for her special needs daughter is not complete and her disposal has no switch. >> did you put that on your punch list? >> yeah. >> she said they didn't have funds. it wasn't supposed to be in here. >> at the habitat office no one could speak on camera. one board member commented by phone. they could not gather all the information but said they did everything to make it livable and believe they did a good job. >> reporter: in the last 30 minutes we received a statement from the habitat for humanity spokesperson. they said they do walk-throughs with homeowners to do the issues. naqita said it's been this way since she moved in.

other damage at the home by going to wftv.com. an ocala man sentenced to life in prison for a deadly home invasion wants another trial. a judge sentenced him to life because he was one of two men who shot and killed robert jameserson at his home. his attorney told the judge that the previous lawyer made some mistakes that are to blame for his life sentence. it could be several weeks to know if teens charged in a stabbing will be charged as adults. daytona beach police said they wrapped up an investigation into a fight over gang turf wars. officers arrested a 16-year-old and 15-year-old who are accused of stabbing kamari dallas. covering news where you live county by county. in brevard county a corrections officer was fired an arrested for sexual misconduct with a female inmate. >> i can't tell you how much it angers me.

for someone who took the oath of office and now violated the trust of not only our citizens but his supervisors, the sheriff and his community. >> sheriff wayne ivy announced the firing and arrest of barry taylor this afternoon. he said the investigation started yesterday after allegations from inmates. taylor has worked at the jail for 5 years and never had any problems. the sheriff said the investigation is on going. in marion county plans are moving ahead to build a new stand alone emergency room in summer field. ocala health has purchased two acres at 441 and dell web boulevard. construction on the 10,000 square foot facility is scheduled to begin in the next 60 days and will take about 6 months. in orange county we uncovered an up tick in the number of homeless families. we spoke to one mom who was given a 3-day notice to leave after she she said she ended up sleeping in her car with her 4 month old baby.

winds have dropped by half to the west. the last to drop will be along the east coast. you will be the last to get that potential frost development later on. a freeze warning out for our northern zones. we will have lots of rural areas that will get down briefly to 32. we tweaked the early warning future cast model to show you the blue and the purple where we think we'll have a light freeze. not much down here to the south. could get a brief light freeze near 32 over west of melbourne basin. areas on the north side after lake apopka back in towards the wociva area. air shrinks. you can feel it get cold if you have the windows down in your car. we will get patchy frost and light freeze

harrny and away from the beach i think that's where the best opportunity for a freeze will be tonight over the san sula area, along the st. johns's river and then through marion county, south towards leesberg. a lot of areas. just make sure you're preparing for that tonight. make sure the pets are inside. deland 32, 29 for ocala, 35 in sanford. that freeze warnings, temperatures at least for two for more freezing to the north. don't use plastic to cover up your plants. can develop moisture in there and freeze to the plants. get a sheet. that's what i use at my house. mount dora tomorrow back in the 60s. warming up to from there to the mid 70 by friday. here's your five day forecast with the 64 to on sunday. weekend.

the magic won back to back games but tonight it's tougher because they space the spurs. orlando last to san antonio by 15 just 9 days ago. players are dealing with the usual february trade rumors. the deadline the make moves is the 18th and the all star break starts on friday, meaning tonight could be the last time we see this roster all together. scott skiles said he has not addressed it with the team but social media means everyone is aware. >> these guys now are aware all the time. if they don't see the rumors somebody in their circle
