following breaking news in the search for the child known as baby willow. sky witness 9 is live over the scene with police believe the baby was born and abandoned by her mother. investigators watched the new search within the last hour. the mother accused of abandoning the new one faced the judge in orange county who asked the mother if she was even awake. >> we have been following the desperate search for baby willow suggested it orlando police said they do not know if baby willow is dead or alive. even though the mother has been arrested. jeff deal is live at the willow bend apartment complex and pine hills. is this new search today based

>> no, they are saying it's not based on any two new information that has come forward. when of this baby is missing and they want to find her. if you look back here you can see they have orlando police cruisers lined up down the street and the officers have fanned out across the neighborhood trying to find her. this morning they were joined by an emergency response team that has helped launch the new search for the missing newborn baby willow. police gave her that name after she was born here near the monday. today's search started a couple of hours after baby willow's mother susan richardson stretched almost as if yawning when she walked before a judge and her first court appearance on child neglect and abandonment charges. at one point the judge after she was awake. last night on the way to jail richardson turned her head away from our cameras and police say she has not been forthcoming. she tells him she did not want the baby and dropped her off at her -- a random apartment knocked on the door and took placenta from a pregnancy that was nearly full term was found

they have found the gunmen who held a restaurant that was full of customers and shot an employee. the property -- it happened at gators dockside to 15 a. the worker expected to survive. steve barrett is live at the restaurant. what we know about the suspect? >> reporter: we know he is on his way to jail right now and the restaurant is trying to get reopened. the crime scene tape just came down through this parking lot here. it looked like the suspect escaped through here about one hour ago, there were evidence markers everywhere. i want to show you the most shot of this man that we have. his name is bernard junior looks like he's 23 years old and he is charged with the shooting and robbery and on his way to jail according to the sheriff's office. we talked to him -- them half hour ago. the robbery, shooting happened at this gators dockside was closing down last night. customers and employees were inside at the time and there is

the suspect into the office money. we understand the manager is going to be okay after taking a bullet to the shoulder. and went to the abdomen. within the last hour the sheriff's office confirmed that they have charged the suspect and have him in custody in on his way to jail and we spoke with a manager at the restaurant here who says there are plenty of witnesses, surveillance video of the crime. >> plenty of surveillance. we have good pictures. i cannot speak out what they are using or not. they are not letting us know but we gave them full video everything we saw and we can tell you there is enough to be seen that they will have stuff to work with. >> reporter: the employees at the restaurant and try to get it open as quickly as possible after they finally broke down the crime scene.

local lawmaker says a bill to exonerate the groveland four may have a better chance now that the city issued a

osceola county school district leaders say 1000 students from the island enrolled in their schools this year. leaders say they are prepared to handle the influx of non- native english speakers asked to the large bilingual staff and classroom language program. university of central florida says a report from school police shows crime is down on campus. ucf says violent crimes dropped 31 percent last year compared to 2014. that includes a 57 percent decrease in the number of reported rapes. burglaries were up nearly 14 percent of the university says property crimes were down overall. for 40 years the historical society has taught people about the city of orlando. now 9 investigates has uncovered issues and how they handle their money and who they hire with it. recent audit found the society with it $300,000 by accidentally double ensuring their building. auditors said the biggest issue is that independent contractors hired to supervise children were not given background checks. -- >> we have 98 percent of the things that were addressed in the audit that have been in

researchers in seattle may have made a breakthrough in the fight against cancer. it is a new treatment based on what is called immunotherapy. it helps your immune system fight off cancer cells in ways

that in the treatment doctors take white blood cells called t cells and genetically modified them and then they are put back into the body to multiply. researchers say this could protect you from cancer cells. it is early release -- research but in a study it eliminated all symptoms and 94 percent of some leukemia patients. recommendations for parents who want to screen children for autism but not all health experts are in agreement. yesterday the united states preventive services task force sent research needs to be done before recommending universal autism screening for toddlers but they say there is little harm in it. screening involves a questionnaire filled out by parents about the child's social behaviors. some doctors say it is important to get the information while a child is young. >> if we can identify kids earlier while their brains are growing, developing rapidly, we have a much better chance to really make a difference in their lives in the future. >> the task force says they are concerned about universal

possibility of false positives but doctors say even if they are not diagnosed with autism, children who are screened early could be diagnosed with other disorders that the treatment such as anxiety. if you think you are healthier by skipping a soda machine and grabbing coffee instead, they tell us you may want to rethink that. >> i'm in trouble. a study found some flavored coffee drinks can contain more sugar than soda. the group action on sugar and last one region 31 hot drinks from coffee shops in the uk including starbucks and found some can contain up to 25 teaspoons of sugar. three times more sugar than in one can of soda and more than three times the maximum adult daily intake recommended by the american heart association. >> great. us marshals surrounded a man's home and did not know why. the student loan debt that landed him behind bars. action 9 investigates roofers who promised free roots.
