have been going in and out of that wooded area and the swampy area off international speedway boulevard. deputies getting to the scene right now are going to be working until the sun goes down, possi bly return in the morning. again, going back to that video, that is a volusia county man who has been missing with her two children. we were told they were killed 2 years ago. their bodies have never been discovered. they might be working under that assumption that that could be the remains of that mother and her missing children. a developing situation. ty russell is on the scene. when we get information we will pass it along to you. in orlando police arrested two people in connection with a mass shooting at a nightclub. detectives say jose lopez and luis nazario are now in custody. lopez was arrested for the shooting but wounded out. two

we are working to find out more and we'll have a live report later on. tonight a question a lot of willow. there's still no sign of the newborn who investigators believe was abandoned by her mother after birth at an apartment complex. even after investigators searched the sewers they haven't found any sign of the girl. jeff deal is checking on what's next for the child's mother who is in jail. you learned the woman boyfriend is no longer talking to reporters. >> reporter: no, obviously going through a very difficult time. he lives in this unit right back here. today we saw him walk outside and watch as work crews were talking a camera and sticking it down through the manholes and into the ground through the sewers looking for baby willow. he didn't want to answer questions. >> today we watched as an

camera underground snaking it down into the sewer lines under and around the willow bend apartments, 200 feet in several different directions looking for any sign of the missing newborn baby. >> my biggest concern is that they find the baby. i pray and hope that the baby is still alive. >> neighbor oden lewis watched the search effort today and has been following the case. susan richardson told them she gave birth monday and dropped the baby on a porch after a random apartment. the baby has not been seen since. >> i asked her why did you do that, she said i freaked out and panicked. >> her boyfriend, johnnie bryant, told us yesterday they planned to give the baby away to an ex-girlfriend and they have given away other children to family members. he has no answers for what happened to baby willow that was right around the time we saw police wrapping dumpsters and crime tape and hauling them away. police say it was part of a secondary search not based on specific evidence.

isn't talking and neighbors are wondering if these efforts have turned up any evidence. >> it's very sad for her to leave the child and won't tell nobody where the baby is. >> reporter: we're also looking into other areas. her boyfriend and neighbors believe richardson believe she could have gone in those areas. we're working to put that together for 6:00. jeff deal, channel 9, eyewitness news. the man accused of murdering his girlfriend's father in orange county will stay behind bars. a judge denied david bucan bond. he was supposed to face a judge yesterday but it was pushed back today for mental health evaluations. the victim's daughter was also a person of interest but is not facing any charges at this time. in brevard county tonight troopers believe they have the jeep cherokee that was involved in a deadly hit and run crash. the owner has not spoken with

we first told you about this crash on satellite boulevard near deed road on monday. the victim was struck and killed as he took his morning jog. melanie holt is near the scene of the crash. they found the suspect vehicle through a tip. >> reporter: those tips started pouring in soon after fhp released a more detailed description of the suspect vehicle. they still have to put it here and determine who was behind the wheel. >> a tar covers the jeep cherokee that fhp believes was involved in the hit and run crashed that claimed the live of jason rodiger. this afternoon we ran into his brother. >> we want anybody to come forward with any tips on who was driving the vehicle. they did find the jeep. we're looking for the driver right now. >> fhp is still working many of those details out. that could

>> we're trying to retrieve as much evidence. >> fhp will be cutting off pieces of this vehicle and sending it to a lab. >> that parts that were at the scene are missing from this vehicle. we have been in contact with the owner via a lawyer. we have not personally talked to the owner yet. >> fhp said this jeep was never reported stolen and the vehicle was neither registered or insured at the time of the crash. if this is indeed the vehicle involved in the hit and run it never should have been on the road in the first place. >> we feel we have a great start by getting this vehicle and the person that came forward we cannot thank you enough for that unanimous tip. >> reporter: i am met the victim's girlfriend near this memorial today. she said something needs to be done about the speed on this rural road. melanie holt, channel 9, eyewitness news. >> if you would like a closer

we want to update you on breaking news that's happening in volusia county where human remains were found in a grassy field. ty russell is live. what are you learning straight from the scene there? >> reporter: deputies are telling me they are in near knee deep water in the swampy wooded area right here. we've been out here for the past hour and we've been seeing deputies go in and out. the medical examiner is on scene. now here's another look from the sky witness 9. deputies told me a surveyor doing site work discovered what appears to be a piece of a skull. this is near the county jail and the juvenile center. now another look from the ground. deputies plan to be here until the sun goes down and

we asked deputies if there's any sign that this is a volusia county mom, yensia suarez and her children. we asked deputies about the four women who were killed over the last 10 years in daytona beach. now, deputies tell me they have to collect the remains before we know the identity but the medical examiner will make that determination. now we will continue to stay out here and ask deputies those questions. we will also ask how how long those remains have been in this wooded area. we are live right now in volusia county, ty russell, channel 9, eyewitness news. more breaking news right now happening in orlando. a man has been arrested in connection with that fatal shooting at a nightclub but was able to bond out of jail. right now this afternoon he has been rearrested and detectives have taken another man into custody too all connected to the same shooting at glitz ultra lounge which

field sutton is live at the sheriff's office. have detectives said why they made these arrests? >> reporter: they have not. this is all fresh. neither have been booked into the orange county jail. i'm waiting to find out what kind of break led to those arrests. it's clear that the police got two arrest warrants and served them. 21-year-old luis nazario is being charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery and assault with a firearm, shooting into the building and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. 23-year-old jose lopez just got rearrested for the same charges. all this started on february 7th at 1:00 in the morning at glitz nightclub on universal boulevard. 10 people got shot, two of them were killed. those victims were 22-year-old joseph

an 11th person was injured in the mayhem. a fight broke out, that's when the guns came out. orlando police were on scene but said they didn't fire any guns. around this time last week we learned it appears to be tied to some drug war going on in puerto rico. now, we believe both of those men are actually still inside the police department at this point. we're waiting for them to come out and hoping we can ask them a few questions of our own. field shut -- sutton, channel 9, eyewitness news. an orange county woman is on a mission to clean up dozens of graves buried under trash and weeds in this historic cemetery. she said the grave sites have been ignored for years. without permission from the landowner volunteers can't do anything. >> there's a gravestone there. somebody's son. there's another grave site there. >> bridget has been counting

first stumbled across this historic cemetery and seemingly abandoned. >> i came to this property and i absolutely cried. it broke my heart. >> she said there are 88 people buried here in bay ridge cemetery, some of those head stones date back to the civil war, others are as new as 2005. you can see they are all now buried under a thick layer of weeds, vines and trash. >> she doesn't know any of the deceased but wants to clean up the 2 and a half acre site. she's written the property owner to ask for permission and never heard back. we tracked down to response. >> they said you have to get permission from the landowner. we can't do nothing. >> eyewitness news asked the county if it could step in. orange county code enforcement replied, we would probably never site a cemetery or impose cleaning costs on one. >> that means they're stuck waiting to help. >> this is not how we're

boats for the daytona 500 weekend. it's going to be a very nice weekend for racing. it's something we don't often have here in february. temperatures in the 60s right now. in downtown orlando last week just to jog our memory we went down to 59 for a high, 15 degrees below our seasonal average. we're going to make up for it. closer to 80 degrees towards the next work week. february 2nd it was 84. this up and down cycle is very common here in winter and kind of enhanced by this el nino pattern that we've had. wind gusts still strong along for the races in daytona they run two races back to back to set the line up for the daytona 500 northeast. if you're thinking about heading out there tonight it will be jacket weather for sure as we'll still have that gusty winds. downtown orlando temperatures in the mid 50s. not quite as cool as we were early this morning because we'll

blanket us a bit. palm bay, melbourne temperatures back into the lower 60s. so not quite as chilly starting out the morning. for eustis and lake county temperatures for you 71 degrees at 2:00 p.m. we're going to be on average 2 or 3 degrees warmer than today. that's just the beginning as we'll see warmer weather towards the upcoming weekend. you can see this cloud bank offshore that will move through. our next storm system we'll will be talking about tuesday night and wednesday. another low involved so another chance for showers, maybe some heavy thunderstorms around tuesday night and wednesday of next week. five day forecast with the weekend always in view, slowly warming up. in fact, 80 for two days, monday and tuesday that. will put us about 5 degrees above our seasonal average.

started after a report on social media of a threat. now they continue to search inside the school. >> students are sharing these videos. this video sent to me by a student shows two students fighting in the locker room of st. cloud high school this week. a student falls onto a bench and then gets slammed up against the lockers. >> a student also sent me this cell phone video of a fight inside the school cafeteria. this time two girls are fighting and it appears school employees break it up. >> st. cloud police said this week there's been three fights on campus and three confrontations. there's also been one fight off campus. police and the school district are still investigating to determine who will be disciplined. >> parents told me when they were young they fought with words, not fists. >> i'm 64 years old. when i was growing up there was it was courtesy no fighting or nothing. if we disputed it was just with talk and that's it. now it's either

it was a shooting inside a popular gator's dock side in orange county and today a judge refused to grant the accused gunman bond especially since his criminal record stretches back to the age of 12. >> the shooting got a lot of reaction online because of its location. >> new this hour channel 9's steve barrett has been asking why the accused gunman was even on the streets. what did you find in the documents you dug up? >> reporter: well, i found out that this particular young man has been inside this jail many times, even before this time around when a judge denied him bond today after perusing his criminal record. he already had before this several felonies that involved guns.
