and to the left where there are sheriffs deputies come a cruisers are outside and crime scene vehicles here. neighbors say they have been here for the last 2-2.5 hours. they heard sirens at 8:30. this is a death investigation involving two people but that is it right now. there are a lot of questions we have. we spoke with neighbors and they tell us that the two people who lived in the house, a man, they say and his daughter who they say was 9- year-old, pretty young. family members have been knocking on the door for a couple of days. they have not been able to get hold of them. -- get a hold of them they came out and heard sirens and so police cruisers.

apartments parking lot last monday. investigators said richardson told him she left the baby outside of the apartment because she did not want the child. >> i did not know she was pregnant because she dressed like a boy with a big jacket. >> reporter: residents who knew richardson are shocked to hear she could do such a thing. >> throughout the weekend opd k9 units search through dumpsters. cameras search through stores -- sewers, 10 minutes from where the child was born upon research by divers. crews are working to think -- drain the pond. opd will search the pond again when the drainage is complete. >> i'm praying for the baby. hoping she did give it to somebody and i hope they come forward and let people know the baby is safe. >> reporter: as richardson remains behind bars, her boyfriend tells eyewitness news her mental health may be why she's not cooperating with the investigation. were saying where she left the child. >> it is that.>> reporter: roy ramos, channel 9 eyewitness news.
