he's due in court at 8:30 tomorrow morning. live tonight in orlando, michael la party, channel 9, eyewitness news. since 5:00 we've had a chance to review more of our interview with family members of the merritt island father and daughter found dead in their home. in facters say 42-year-old sittichai boonkeian committed suicide. relative said he worked hard, loved his daughter and had talked habit returning to high deland tie -- to thailand where his wife lived. >> i think he was smart enough i don't know why he did that. >> we asked his sister if he was capable of harming his daughter. she said investigators will do their work. tonight state troopers are crediting an eyewitness with helping them build their case against a driver in a deadly hit and run. they told steve barrett that he was driving drunk when he killed a man near orange blossom trail and

steve, even though the troopers said he never had a license an eyewitness saw him behind the wheel. >> reporter: we've seen it so many times before, it takes weeks or months to put a hit and run driver in jail for what they have done. today they did it within hours. the reason being they had a witness there that was able to identify this man, put him behind the wheel at the moment that he crashed into this line of cars. >> i'm in shock right now at this moment. >> witnesses could not believe the after math of a deadly crash that killed 42-year-old brett adams. what one witness saw before the crash helps fhp make their case against valentine sisis, a man with no driver's license. >> he's wearing a white jacket with a hat on. he was in a silver civic. as he was coming towards the light he sped up i guess. he was asleep at the wheel. he hit the cars. >> that's the kind of

description that troopers never get because witnesses leave accident scenes. >> we need witnesses to come forward in a lot of these crashes and a lot of people aren't saying. >> the intersection has a red light camera and they expect the video to show the impaired driver did not slow down and may have been accelerating into the impact. >> we don't know but he never applied the brakes. we know that it was a full impact. he never tried to stop to avoid the car in front of him. that driver killed received the full impact. >> reporter: he's being held at $45,000 bond. tomorrow morning we expect him to appear before a judge. steve barrett, channel 9, eyewitness news. armed private security guards have started patrolling a neighborhood in orange county to augment what deputies are doing that. kathy belich is in holden heights.

because it's less expensive than providing extra deputies. kathy belich, channel 9, eyewitness news. after two days of draining a pond to search for baby willow a team was able to walk the pond inch by inch. they believe her mother, susan richardson gave birth and abandoned that baby. >> i wish everybody would find this baby so everybody can be at rest. >> susan richardson still is not cooperating. she remains locked up in the orange county jail on a $50,000 bond. health officials confirm today another zika virus case in orange county. they say it is also travel related. there are now two confirmed cases in orange county.

we're learning more about why congresswoman corrine brown may have been served a subpoena by federal prosecutor. sources say investigators are requesting e-mails, receipts and other documents from wasn't door for education. back in 2013 brown invited individuals and businesses to a fundraiser for that organization. we learned today that one door is not registered with the state of virginia to solicit donations that's required by state law there. even though there's a tax id number listed on the organizations website it doesn't have tax exempt status. a teacher just resigned. the victim said she connected with marshall youngrice on an adult website. today myrt price spent the day going through his personal file. the district was going to allow him to work.

transfer him to another position. he sent his letter asking to resign from his position. >> it's terrible. >> east ridge high school parents and students were shocked when word spread social studies teacher and track coach was arrested for having sex with a student. >> i'm upset as parent. >> the teacher is accuse d of chatting with the teen on an adult website. >> you're charged with sexual battery on a minor. >> during the weekend the teacher faced a judge. we discovered he was arrested on drug and resisting arrest charges back in the 90s which made it tough for him to get his teaching license. he also had issues while working at leesberg high school.

meet he got into trouble for unsportsmanlike behavior. he showed signs of intoxication throughout the day. officers found oxycodone and vicodin in his car. >> he was accused of trying to hit on a track athlete from another school. he said he had a wrench in his car and asked her to come over to his car with him. the girl got scared and ran away and reported the incident. >> reporter: that coach was benched for a year and the school was fined. we went to his home to see if anybody wanted to comment but a woman who answered the door told us to get off her property before she called police. myrt price, channel 9, eyewitness news. a codefendant serving a life sentence for his role in the

county teen must be resentenced. carl hooper was found guilty of helping kill a teen. hooper will be resentenced due a supreme court ruling. florida hospital is helping to make sure that ucf's downtown campus becomes a reality. it's donating $1.5 million. officials are present their proposal next month to the florida board of governors. three weeks after someone shot and killed her teenage son a seminole county mom is still waiting for an arrest. 15-year-old tamar harris was riding in a car when someone stood in the middle of the street and opened fire. harris died at hospital. today his mother said there were eyewitnesses and she doesn't understand why they won't help in this investigation. >> i hurts to know that others saw what took place and he asked

>> deputies say they have gotten some tips from the community but are still waiting for the information that could lead them to a suspect. new at 6:00, a bomb scare at the sanford airport. >> all of the measure that is took place were in an abundance of caution. >> the mistake by airport security. >> why residents in volusia county are fighting to keep a hospital out. >> severe storms back in our forecast.

year we reported on issues with that private security at sanford airport. that fake bomb was in a laptop bag, tim. >> reporter: that bag fell off a cart in the parking lot. inside the bag was a plastic bag that had the word explosive written across it. inside that plastic bag was a fake bomb covered with newspaper. >> 9 investigates another mistake by trinity technology group since it took over screening at the sanford airport. two days after it took over for the tsa someone got into one of the terminals without a ticket. >> in august a woman walked past a security check point without being screened. the latest was on wednesday at 9:00 in the morning. >> two trinity employees were doing a training exercise when they accidentally dropped the

someone noticed at 10:52. >> how does that go unnoticed for 12 hours and slip off the cart and nobody remembers to pick it up? >> i can't speak for the people who were transporting it. it would appear they did not note that this small bag came off the cart. >> the tsa was in charge of the training and its agent explained to the investigators that the explosive was fake. because it was left for 2 hours the bomb squad still blocked off the area and inspected it. >> how do they not account for all the fake bombs? >> trin tip had the bag in their custody and we will certainly look into how this occurred, how they dropped the item. >> reporter: the airport still stands by trinity's work over all. the tsa said the trinity employees from the exercise will get extra training. we reached out to trinity to get a comment from the company but have not heard back. tim barber, channel 9, eyewitness news.

picture of the man charged with shooting four people at an orlando grocery store. we found this 2014 mug shot of roy stevens. he's now facing four counts of attempted murder for the shooting at the tiptop grocery. three victims are stable now in a hospital. the fourth victim is in critical condition. police have not released a motive. supervisor of election offices are taking calling from people who want to know if they have can a do over. they voted for former governor jeb bush before he suspended his campaign. the supervisor said once your vote is cast that's it. federal law says absentees have to be sent 45 days before the election for military over seas. halifax health has plans to expand in deltona. some

the hospital is going outside its taxing district. work is already underway at i-4 and holland boulevard just 5 miles from an existing hospital. they said halifax would not have to pay property taxes leaving residents on the hook. >> we will be sub diazing them. we will be paying for it . >> halifax health states on its website it will not be using public funds to build or operate that hospital. covering news county by county. the suspect who is accused of shooting a deputy is asking so transfer to another county. this video shows christian joyce speeding through intersections before he crashed

then he shot the deputy in the ankle. judge kimberly shepard came under scrutiny in october for using a 20-year-old newspaper endorsement for her 2014 campaign. judge shepard has said that she never intended to mislead voters by using that ad. the orange county convention center is expected to receive more improvements. they are receiving $12 million in upgrades that will pay for a ballroom renovation. in november we told you the center was already in the middle of a $187 million make over. the hope is it will attract more events to orlando. >> yeah. >> i would think our weather would be a big attraction. >> every time we have a bad winter up north i think the popular swells by 2 or 3% down here. we warmed up to 81 degrees in orlando. we are at 76

warmer tomorrow, as warm as 853 3 -- -- as 83 to 85. 70s across the board. a sea breeze means an isolated shower in our forecast around 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 but also a chance for rain in the morning as we start to add some humidity to the atmosphere. the warm front sliding in from the south. other wise an isolated shower 62 the leesberg. a 20 to 30% chance of showers in the morning. the chance for thunderstorms during the afternoon tomorrow. we have two days, tomorrow and wednesday for scattered thunderstorms. i think the highest threat will be on wednesday. daytime highs tomorrow in the 80s. that will lead to some scattered thunderstorms developing. here's our storm system back to the west. this is only part of it. it's going to get enhanced by a second wave moving through

severe weather across the central gulf of mexico the same area that got hit hard by tornado as week ago. so we're watching this whole scenario. this will be tomorrow. you can see orlando we're just kind of watching out for some scattered thunderstorms. as we translate to wednesday that storm system will lift to the north. we'll get a cold front moving through. plus we'll have daytime highs near 80. a lot of ingredients to get scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon hours. an isolated shower can't be ruled out. i'll be tracking what rain we have tonight at 10:00 and 11:00. quiet until the latter part of the day. you see scattered storms along the east coast. after 2:00 or 3:00 we'll get a 30 to 40% rain coverage. towards wednesday morning some heavy to potentially severe thunderstorms moving towards the east coast rather quickly. it looks like a slight risk of

still needed to make a daring pass on the final turn somehow edging martin truex at the line. the closest finish in daytona 500 history. his car will be at the speedway for the next year. >> my last championship was in 2003. to be called champion of anything is a huge honor. in foot golf the orlando city foundation teamed up with justin rose, the 2013 u.s. open champ for the first annual kicks for kids tournament. it was my first foot gulf experience. the long socks did not help. rose said it was a fun way to get his foundation involved in helping central florida kids. >> it's feeding hungry tummies and curious minds that's broaden the sense of feeding kids food and then also trying to create experiences for them as well.
