sex, lies, and promises of threesomes. it's like something out of a soap opera. an on the job affair cost this deputy his job. how he tried to cover his tracks. >> according to the int nal affairs investigation, death penalty phil buffington and his coworker were so close they decided to have a threesome. >> that deputy then backed out and later found out buffington had slept with his wife anyway. that's when the jilted husband filed a formal complaint with the sheriff's office. buffington tried to deny everything. >> reporter: the former lieutenant says his buddy's wife he also believes that she's just making this story up to ruin his career. the sheriff's office isn't buying it. they say he violated policy so he was fired. >> reporter: plans to have a threesome, sex on duty, and lie

details we found going through this 22-page lake county sheriff's office internal investigation report into the alleged affair married deputy phil buffington had with alyssa vance shown with her husband sean who is also a deputy. it all began in 2013 when friends and s.w.a.t. team members planned to have a threesome with vance's wife. before they could make it happen, vance told investigators he found out his friend and his wife were exchanging inappropriate and explicit text messages. later he discovered they had sex. according to the report, alyssa confessed and told investigators they had sex numerous times, even once when the deputy was on duty while her husband was at work. she even claims the deputy unhooked his gps on his way to her home so that his location couldn't be tracked. she also claimed he wanted her to be his roundup girl, which the report says is a woman who is brought

roundup competitions for sex. buffington admitted to exchanging inappropriate messages and that it went too far but denies having sex with his friend's wife. investigators say the wife took a lie detector test and passed. buffington initially agreed to take one but later declined. according to the report, he had been counseled before about making inappropriate comments to other coworkers' wives. we also found out the sheriff's office has a policy that says that deputies cannot engage in any kind of inappropriate relationship with their coworkers' spouses. live over an overturned vehicle that somehow got into this watery ditch. we've been monitoring the situation. we saw firefighters pull out two people from that vehicle.

victims was airlifted to the hospital. the other worn taken by ambulance. no word yet on their medical conditions. orange county leaders got an update on the troubled timber scan housing complex. about a third of that complex has been vacated. and 11 of the buildings have been bulldozed. today we saw depose still providing security for an asbestos crew working on a building there. and ouc says it still owes more than $12,000 in unpaid utility bills. a seminole county couple is still waiting for restitution after they say their longtime attorney stole their retirement money. >> that attorney has been disbarred, and the fbi has taken over this case. after two years, angela jacobs has been tracking this story for months now. and today she spoke with the couple who say they're now b revictimized. >> this is heaven. this definitely was heaven.

the past two years and why they now have to sell their dream home. can you listen to more of their interview right now. the 5th district court of appeal in daytona beach has agreed to hear the appeal of scott patterson in may. he's appealing his conviction on bribery related charges from two years ago. he was found guilty and sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for offering a toll agency contract to a vendor on the condition that the vendor would hire subcontractors of his choosing. a school employee reassigned over something she posted on facebook. a speech pathologist posted about end of course exams for kindergarteners. she said she wanted parents to demand change and stop the testing craze. today she said she wants other teachers to know they shouldn't be afraid to speak up. >> you do not drop your

for visit visitors to the area, the series of toll booths can be an unwelcomed surprise. >> the real surprise comes when they get home and get a bill that often contains rental car fees on top of the tolls. and now we discovered the attorney general's office is investigating. >> reporter: the lowered level of oia is often the first and last thing visitors see. this is where they catch the bus to disney and where others pick up their rental cars. many are unaware how much their trip actually costs but they soon find out. >> and the way we came, we must have hit eight or nine toll booths. >> reporter: ron and joyce are visiting from kansas city. last time they were here, they went home shocked at what they paid in tolls. >> it was pretty wild.

in a decent rain amount. the latest model going out through march 19th, it came up with barely a tenth inch of rain for orlando! this is one of the reasons why next week, a summer-like ridge of high pressure is going to build across the southeast. this could easily get us up into the middle 80s. big storm system back to the west. for us, we are going to be on the summer-like side of all this. but this is common during an el nio cycle in. 1998, we were very wet in december and early january then we dried out. it's kind of playing a similar tune so far. 5-day forecast, a couple of showers in the morning, and all bets are off for rain. we'll keep dry weather, upper 70s, and more on the orlando city soccer club debut forecast coming up at 6:00. including another warming trend around the corner. if you thought you were

the ride-hailing technology to determine the city's overall mobility plan. julie, this pilot project is the first of its kind in the country. >> reporter: and the pilot program is expected to last a year. and the city's goal is to get people off of the busy roads and get them to take the sunrail or an uber. we met jo campbell. she takes the train 2 to three times a week. >> i take the link spots, downtown, and get off at church street. and then my job is about a block or so away. >> reporter: sunrail passengers and uber riders will soon benefit from a new partnership between the city of alta monte springs and uber. march 21st the city will pay 20% of your uber bill on trips that start and end in city limits. take an uber to

. in their message, ignore it and call port orange west customer service. an orlando high school went on lockdown today after reports of a suspicious person crashing onto the campus. boone high school was locked down just before 2:00 this afternoon. it was a precaution after somebody drove their car off the road and onto the high school campus. and you can see that silver car in the walkway of one of the buildings. it turned out to be a disoriented elderly driver. an orange county father just was charged again with child abuse, accused. beating his stepdaughter. >> why investigators may be on a short deadline now to prove their case. >> friends are grieving for a man who police say was beaten to death. the unexpected request they say provoked the violence. >> and nearly half of orange county's garbage pickup problems
