>> i ain't going back to jail. >> reporter: this scene played out in real life in january of 2014. this man was threatening to kill with him. he had a knife so they shot him in a stomach. facility. after a year and a his family says he still needs help. earlier this week, he was arrested again for going to the home of a convicted sex offender and trying to attack that guy with a hammer. >> he went to the registry and saw that this person was in a particular area, it may have been close to him, and he went to confront that person. >> reporter: his mom says they desperately tried to get him help but can't afford to put him in a private facility. hospitals keep letting him out. she doesn't think he should be on the streets. deputies are learning to spot the signs of mental issues.

to get you to say mrafr place. >> reporter: learning how to talk to them to calm them down and get them the help they need. >> we want to know what we're doing, make sure the officer is safe and the person is safe when they get there. a woman is facing attempted murder charges after prosecutors say she lied about her role in a shooting at a gas station. what evidence prompted the state attorney to up the charges. >> reporter: stephanie jones was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. all that changed when prosecutors got a look at what was captured on that camera. >> where were you when you heard gun shots? >> i was right by my van. >> reporter: this is what a 39-year-old mother told detectives after an alternatorcasion at this gas station in december. once they saw the video, they knew she was lighting. that's her dodge pulling into a parking space

less than two minutes later, a fight begins between jones' family and a woman named jessica witnesses told investigators jones ended up with a gun, leaned into the car, and fired. customers inside the store ducked back into safety when the shots rang out . prosecutors believe jones had a teenaged daughter make a fake call to 911 reporting the boy was shot in a drive-by. >> reporter: investigators say jones changed her story several times and claimed the gun accidentally went off. prosecutors don't buy that either, upgrading her charges to attempted murder among four other felonies. the other mom in this fight was originally charged with aggravated assault

>> you can see the video that shows frederick torres getting into the park through what appears to be an employee entrance with some sort of a badge even though he was fired the day before. >> reporter: the universal orlando security video shows fired employee frederick torres going into what appears to be the employee entrance just after 7:00 am on new year's day. it appears he shows some sort of identification to someone at the gate then walks in. more than two hours later, according to the video time stamp, security video shows the manager torres had a disagreement with the day before which led to his firing being chased. and torres is the one who was chasing him. it's still unclear howtory is was able -- how he was able to get in after being fired. universal said his id and access cards had been deactivated. more than one witness told orlando police that
