who are the favorites and number one seeds. good monday morning. we begin with that breaking news, another major train derailment, the second in the less than a week. >> new images coming in from kansas. take that look. five amtrak cars on their side. this happened 20 miles west of the dodge city. there are injuries. but none of them we're told are life-threatening. >> the train was bound from los angeles to chicago, carrying 128 passengers and 14 crew members. >> obviously, the crash investigation is in its early stages right now. but witnesses onboard said that the train started shaking. while traveling around 175 miles an hour. last week, a commuter train in california derailed when it struck a tree. we're working to get some new details on this amtrak derailment later in this

peaceful. but i have never seen the situation where you have a candidate from the podium encouraging even condoning violence as these protests grow bigger, grow more fervent. i fear this could actually get worse. >> jonathan karl reporting for us. we want to get to another story that we're following overnight. a young maryland police officer is dead in what officials say is an unprovoked ambush attack. he was shot outside of prince georges county police station. the suspected shooter was then wounded in a shootout with cops. his brother was later arrested. the motive for the shooting is unknown. the officer would have turned 29 this week. >> the community needs to know that one of your defenders has been lost. >> he was important to his family. he's important to this entire community. we have another mother tonight who's without her son.

contact with the suspect before he opened fire. he is currently in the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. overseas now, where the death toll is rising following a terror attack in the capital of turkey. at least 37 people were killed in a car bombing yesterday. two of the dead are believed to be the bombers. police suspect that kurdish militants carried out the attack on the main boulevard of ankara. the turkish prime minister promising to bring terrorism to its knees. this morning, the turkish military carried out air strikes. now, al qaeda's north africa affiliate is claiming responsibility in an attack on a popular beach resort. in ivory coast. the gunmen stormed the beach. one witness described the panic as the terrorists opened fire. shooting hotel guests. back here at home, restless night because of severe weather

in springfield, missouri, a storm dumped as much as 5 inches of rain in less than five hours. at least 60 water rescues took place last night. roads are closed. in the meantime, in eastern arkansas, it's also being hit with severe storms, thunder and heavy rain as you can see. some roads are closed because of flooding. there are no report of damage from the storms. forecasters expect the weather to clear out by daybreak. and take a look at that radar. the storm system has moved a little to the east, now drenching parts of kentucky, tennessee and mississippi. another storm is causing problems in northern california, two families have had to evacuate their homes because of a mudslide. other homes may be in danger. the residents say the problems started several months ago and they're blaming the utility who owns the land above them. a formal announcement from
