in pittsylvania county- the hargrave military academy- will reopen this morning. the priveat boarding school shut down late last week after somone posted violent threats online. investigators say the threats were tied to the terrorist group isis.wfxr's solina lewis has more from chatham. officers from the pittsylvania county sheriffs office told me they'd be leaving just a few hours ago-- adding that it had been a quiet weekend on campus with no sign of trouble...i spoke to a few parents who were dropping their kids off earlier sunday and most of them said they weren't worried and that they were sure the school had taken all of the safety precautions necessary...but that they were surprised to hear of the threats in the first place--

and going to be a shock a little later in the week. we'll have flowers out pretty shortly though. take a look. here comes the count down. 7 days left in the month of february since it is leap year after all. 20 days left until daylight saving time. now that is interesting because it is already past 6:00 as far as our sunset is concerned. and we're almost back into the 6:00 hour for sunrise. show you that in just a minute. 20 days when you have spring as far as the calendar is concerned. the days are longer and warmer for us and sunrise is approaching 7 a.m. it's 7:01 today. tomorrow 7:00 on the nose and we cross into the 6:00 hour. sunset already coming after 6 p.m. 6:06 as a matter of fact. and the average high temperature for the day has crossed the 50 mark and 51 the average high in roanoke today. not going to see that.

days as a matter of fact. but at least we're heading in the right direction theoretically. right now outside we do have some pretty dense fog and dense areas from lewisburg to hot springs and roanoke with improving visibility and clearing up with fluctuating visibility and give yourself plenty of time so you don't run into problems in the fog. 40 in lewisburg and 46 in roanoke and 45 in lynchburg and 46 also in martinsville and 44 in with clouds around and that's down to the south and it is that rough line with showers and clouds stalling out down to the south and begins to lift up down into the day tomorrow and because of the area down to the pressure to the south and west and it's riding along with that front that will bring us rain as we had late in the day today

so take a look at the future cast as we head towards noon. the chance for a couple of spotty showers and clouds around with maybe showers forming up as we head towards the evening drive time as well. we'll notice those become more numerous and wider spread as we go through the overnight and at that area of low pressure that makes its way up and in and we could be dealing with pretty heavy rain first thing tomorrow morning for the morning commute. get up a little early and give yourself a little extra time and as that moves out, we will find things calming down. the second half of the day, another area of low pressure will swing a front through as we head into the day on wednesday. that one will also bring us the chance for some heavy rain, maybe even some thunder. so may see some flood watches starting to pop up as the ground is pretty saturated right now so watch that through the day today and into tomorrow with those rain showers moving through. the rainy first half of the week, the second half much dryer bialso much cooler.

much of the day today. testimonies pretty steady in blacksburg as well and that is not dropping too far in the overnight and tomorrow with the rain coming through and temperatures will be pretty steady as well. 46 right now in roanoke. a bit of a breeze out of the south/southeast at 7 mph and the humidity at 100% and we're looking at dense fog in portions of roanoke and those temperatures remain steady in the mid to upper 40s throughout the day and trailing off just a touch as we go through the evening and overnight. low visibility has improved at the airport and up to 5 miles. .3 of a mile in lewisburg and still socked in in hot springs and visibility in blacksburg. glenville on the way down currently and where wherever you need to travel, give yourself extra time. in the region mainly in the 40s though hot springs and lewisburg falling back in the 30s.

45 in blacksburg and we do have plenty of clouds around for much of the region and the cold front make its way through the region earlier. that brought a couple of very scattered showers with that front stalling out down to the south with another wave of low pressure currently out by louisiana. we'll slide up that thing and bring this rain on into tomorrow. first, though, that area with the high pressure to the north will continue to wedge some of that moisture back against this part of the appalachians and cloudiness through much of the roanoke valley as you go through the day today and additional showers later on and see that here in the future cast with plenty of clouds lingering for us. the showers start to redevelop as we head into the later part of the afternoon and right around drive time you deal with some and maybe plan on the bit of the slower ride home tonight. tomorrow morning we'll be looking at moderate and heavy rain across much of the region so do expect the slow ride to work tomorrow morning. good news is that gets out of here pretty quickly. by the noon time it's starting to exit the region. that will leave us with just a couple of showers and plenty of
