>> how long was that giant brush out of commission after that little incident? >> it was never out of commission. nothing broke. i didn't break any equipment. the hose itself didn't break. you can see the hose getting just unreeling off the pole and it pulled all of it off and luckily didn't pull it off the wall. >> you're never going to live this down, especially that there's video evidence. >> right. i'm now in the safety what not to do video. >> right. >> something positive came from it at least. i just wanted to put it on the internet to see if it got anywhere, and i guess here we are. >> have you got a new nickname yet? >> no, no nickname yet. >> spin cycle. >> hey, i like it. >> did you get in the shower that night? >> i still took a shower. >> he's the cleanest man in louisiana.

>> scared the [mute] out of me, for real though. and then i'm on the ground. there's an owl here. he's tangled in a fishing line and he can't go anywhere and he's so scared. >> if you look closer you can see that owl right there in the middle of your screen. >> there he is. >> you see he's trying to fly but he can't because he is attached to that line over there. >> that's heartbreaking. >> this man believes this is a pretty young owl but as you can see, it is trapped by fishing line and obviously doesn't want this human to approach it. but more guys should be like nick calderone and carry a pocket knife or some kind of pocket tool because he says he was only armed with a dull nail clipper. >> and the talons, too. >> it does have talons that can scratch at you. look right there, you can see that fishing line wrapped around its wings. see that?

>> and that bird, after a while, does simmer down. too. >> come on, buddy. >> he says he doesn't know how that. he starts petting the owl. eventually he does get that fishing line off. the owl does make a final break for freedom. in newport beach, california there's another bird rescue. here you see a fishing lure caught in this bird's mouth and you see blood come out of this bird because of how deeply it is embedded. the person who captured this video said a bunch of people kept walking by this bird but he said i've got to stop and help this bird out. here you can see him doing that delicate work of getting those hooks out of the beak of this thing. here you can see that hook going all the way through the beak. >> it looks like it went through the nostril of the beak on that bird. >> it drew blood. you see it on the foot and you see it right there on pavement where this bird has been freed. he said after the bird was freed

from that lure, it kind of sat there and looked at him, didn't fly away, kind of like to say, thanks, you got me out of quite a jam there. an exhilarating moment, you're on the plane all geared up for your sky dive just like these guys. but of course -- >> there it is. wait for that shoe to drop. patiently. with the hook. >> there is no hook. right here this sky diver tries to make a turn right before he lands and you realize it was a little too late. he was way too low to the ground and going way too fast, and so his landing goes a little bit like this. >> oh, [mute]! >> he said a bad word. >> [mute]. [mute]. >> he smashes to the ground, immediately starts screaming.

>> oh, [mute]. >> and letting the other skydivers know he's hurt. >> yeah, i'm surprised he can even talk. it looked like the wind was no knocked out of him. how badly hurt? >> pretty bad. he's going to spend a couple months in bed because he ended up breaking his pelvis in two spots. yeah, really unfortunate situation for him but relatively speaking, he's survived, we'll heal from his fracture and probably be up in the sky doing this again as soon as he can. for me what you're about to see hits close to home. the video was taken by 17-year-old matthew pul, he's a student at baltimore city college, and he got a new substitute teacher. the teacher introduced himself and told his students that he was a poet. >> memories can be beautiful. memories can be ugly. sometimes i ask my memories why

black bear encounter is caught on video in alaska. this woman has been kayaking from one location to the next but decided to stop here for a little break before she continues on her journey when she realizes there was a bear on her kayak. the good news is she realizes she has pepper spray. >> i'm going to pepper spray you in the face. >> the threat is real, my friends. she has bear spray and she plans to use it. >> go away. >> all is good, right? >> no. get away from the kayak. bear, bear, you're breaking it! you're breaking my kayak! why are you doing that? >> she just pepper sprayed the bear. he's retaliating. >> why are you breaking my kayak? what am i going to do? >> i know i shouldn't be laughing at this. >> please stop, bear! it's the end of september.
