>> the concept is cool, depending on what part of town you're in. mark rickert has an amazing jump plan. he's in utah. look at that, absolutely beautiful. he's about to jump. right there is the pilot's chute. he says this is his very first pilot chute. you're supposed to pull the pin to deploy the parachute. that doesn't help. emergency procedures dictate he pulls left and right, and he does. but then all of a sudden you see the chute deploy, because he reached back, pulled out the pin and deployed it himself. >> you can hear some of the relief and shock in this video. >> holy [ bleep ].

to make a left turn? >> this is just the definition of irony, to actually crash into safer. like we always say, you're never to dash cams. anything can happen. guys, i would like to introduce you to a young man named alec crews. she's been traveling in nepal doing charity work. helping some orphans who are blind. he calls it the samopan foundation. folks can help support the foundation and support the needs of the people in nepal. one of the social workers near and dear to his heart lost her home during the last earthquake in nepal. this organization will not only support the kids but also some of the adults.

alex is here with us via skype on "right this minute." tell us more about why you felt the need to start the foundation. >> i've been doing this work for 20 years now. i was in nepal in 2013. i had gone to help some children who were blind, get them checked out by a doctor to see if any of them could benefit from operations to possibly restore their sight. i had been going on and off for about two years, bringing different donations. but it came to my attention that the monies weren't reaching the orphans. the children were going to be put into very dangerous, almost life-threatening situations. i took action and started my own foundation. i negotiated with the landlord where the children were and purchased the lease for a year in advance. i've done this for two years for you. i employee a social worker there. >> i'm interested in one of the social workers, tell me about that story. >> the earthquake happened, she lost her home.

welfare of the children. sometimes she wasn't paid for this work. i felt that someone who helps people so much shouldn't have to worry about where she's going to be sleeping. i decided it was better to combine the two different situations as well as the work that we do to help women who need housing, a building specifically, one floor for the children, one floor for the women, one for the social workers. >> do you have any success stories since you've started to work with those kids? >> for them, there was one young girl who had an operation. she's still in recuperation. i think that the actual success is in their happiness, their ability to learn. they want to help others like them. they may not have the support of
