>> just four and a half hours until the first votes are cast. >> i'm asking you. you have to go out and vote tomorrow. >> how is it that a socialist could even be within striking distance? >> one last chance to drive the message home. >> i'm a volunteer calling from the committee that supports john castic for president. >> if we can bring out a decent vote tuesday i'm confident we will win. >> when i'm president, i won't blame barack obama for a single thing.
7:31 pm
hampshire primary starts right now. hello, i'm political reporter shar man. we are live in manchester. the countdown the underway, the new hampshire primary happens tomorrow and the people of dixville knox will cast the first votes at midnight. that means it's time for that final push for votes as we speak nearly all the candidates are holding events. who really has the advantage? bernie sanders and donald trump are in the lead right now. i'll be speaking with our analyst to see if he believes there will be big surprises in store. new york city mayor michael bloomberg has confirmed he's exploring a presidential bid. he runs his name could conceivably appear on the ballot soon as super tuesday. let's get tonight final poll averages before the primary. on the republican side, the donald trump train continues
7:32 pm
marco rubio still in second place. and the race for third is a virtual tie within john caseic and ted cruz. case inhas jumped ahead of cruz by a few tenths of a percentage appointment bernie sanders lead over hillary clinton is holding strong at 12 points and a big reason for that is that sand certificates winning the male voemt one poll shows that 70% of all male democratic voters in new hampshire are pull for sanders. earlier today i spoke with hillary clinton. she addressed controversy that she's been facing on the campaign trail. i asked about the email scandal, benghazi, i asked how she feels about a socialist from vermont beating her in the polls and if she feels like being a woman makes her bid for the white house more challenging. >> we all know anything can happen here in new hampshire but how is it that a socialist could even be within striking distance
7:33 pm
>> well, i don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. i'm just going to keep working as hard as i can to convince as me. >> what do you think about president sanders regarding corporate donations? >> you know, it's such a funny critique for him to make because every democrat just about including him have taken money from final interests and there is, that would disqualify everyone and i think it's really an unfair accusation. >> up to want lipth warren's endorsement? >> want everybody's endorsement and i was very pleased when she signed a letter with all the other democratic women senators urging me to run but he's got -- she's got a lot responsibilities. >> i did. >> why wasn't she there? >> you would have to ask her. >> i have to ask you about the
7:34 pm
that's on the minds of voters at the polls. should they dismiss that and why should they vote for you with this cloud over you? >> i think it's fair to say since i emerged on the national political scene, i have been for some reason the favorite political piata of the republicans an the right. i don't know i get their backs up so much but they've come at me a long time and look what destruction did turning a tragedy like benghazi into a part san political attack. >> do you think you're unfairly judged because you're a woman? >> you know, i'm not somebody who complains. i just try to keep going. i'm sure the same has happened with you. if you're in the public eye, every woman i know in the media gets feed back on hair, makeup, clothes the whole deal. i think it is harder for us. i think it is still a double standard, but if we are going to put ourselves in the arena, you
7:35 pm
political arena, we have to keep forging through that we can't get dips kurjd. >> we are going to be breaking down that interview with hillary clinton with our expert tom whelan. vermont senator bernie sanders continues to drive his message home to his key demo, younger voters. in manchester he spoke about making college less expensive making wages higher and his chances the only against hillary clinton. >> in iowa we started off 50 points behind. we ended up a virtual tie. new hampshire we started 30 points behind. i think we are going to do just fine tomorrow. >> and it looks like sand certificates going to need a win if he is going to make a move in south carolina. early polls there have him 30 points behind hillary clinton in that state, and now we are going to bring in boston university political historian and professor tom whalen.
7:36 pm
tom you heard my interview with hillary clinton. you heard her response when i asked how it's possible a socialist could beat her let alone being in striking distance. she laughed. what did you make of that? >> she's definitely on the defensive here and she can't outright say a potential democratic nominee could not le beckettable -- electable in a general election, so she's playing it close tots vest but has a point. when you go south of the mason-dixon line how are you going to display socialism? >> i did ask her about senator elizabeth warren's lack of presence in new hampshire. she said you'd have to ask her. we never heard back on that. >> i'm shocked. >> why is she the only female democratic senator holding out right now? >> i think she's leveraging for position in terms of influence
7:37 pm
in many ways that's a clever and smart thing to do here. >> sounds like hillary clinton wants her endorsement. >> right, but at what price. elizabeth warren controls the agenda in the democratic party, progressive ideas, so she can demand a lot if hillary wins. >> she controls the agenda now. she's the one with all the cards. >> right. what bernie sanders is saying sounds like elizabeth warren when she ran for senate in massachussetts. >> one thing that has been dogging hillary clinton during this campaign has been this program investigation into her email. we wanted to know if voters ought to dismiss it. she said she's been the target of right wing attacks for a long time and believes she will be vindicated. you know, what did you think of her answer to that question saying that it was just more of the republican right coming after her? >> kind of a non-denial denial. granted she's been the subject of many attacks but she hasn't
7:38 pm
important question. >> she calls herself the favorite preliminary piata of the republicans. >> self pity does not sell in politics. >> there are reports that hillary clinton is looking at potentially shaking up her campaign staff. can you see that happening after how we've seen new hampshire play out? >> i think it depends how things turn out tomorrow f. she loses by 20 points, she will shape things up but hillary has been a mike row manager and does not let her staff do enough of the decision-making. >> all right, and i do want to mention late breaking news, which was late this afternoon mayor michael bloomberg former new york city mayor who has been a republican democrat and independent now actually confirming he's looking seriously as running as an independent and calls the campaigns that he's seeing a quote insult. >> the screams you hear are from the dnc.
7:39 pm
>> it means the republicans can win the white house easier than they would otherwise. >> we'll see. tom whimp an, we are going to bring you back in. thank you for joining us. >> welcome. >> donald trump is holding a pre-election event. so far as we know he's not yet taken the podium. there's a packed house there on the night before the new hampshire primary. kathryn burcham is there. we will check with her. during saturday's debate jeb bush went after donald trump and he continues that attack on twitter. bush tweetth donald trump up aren't just a loser, you're a liar and a whiner. john mccain is a hero. trump responded quote, everybody is laughing at jeb bush, spent $100 million and is at the bottom of the pack, a pathetic figure. heather was on the campaign
7:40 pm
heather tried talking with marco rubio today. >> i did. rubio was speaking at defense con track in nashua and did not allow the media to ask questions only bae employees. after the event i tried to speak with him but he brushed me out of the way. take a look. >> how would you rate your performance on saturday night? >> thank you so much for coming. >> rubio's performance in that last g.o.p. debate continues to be a topic of discussion. the washington post calls his performance a slip up. governor christy attacked him trying to chip away at his second place standing. we caught up with christy in manchester. >> when the lights go on, we know what happens. so it's about the american people. they need someone prepared to take on hillary clinton. they need someone prepared to be president of the snuns so the gloves are off for many
7:41 pm
before tomorrow night. heather hegedus, fox 25 us. >>. >> marco rubio did not answer heather but he spoke in nashua. >> there is no one running for president who has shown better judgment on the issue of national security than i have. >> still to come, we know the weather is also a big story tonight. we will have a quick check of the forecast and snow total as well. as we go to break, some pretty good looking drone footage of new hampshire as voters get ready to narrow down the presidential field on tuesday. i think we should've taken a left at the river. tarzan know where tarzan go! tarzan does not know where tarzan go. hey, excuse me, do you know where the waterfall is?
7:42 pm
no, me tarzan, king of jungle. why don't you want to just ask somebody? if you're a couple, you fight over directions. it's what you do. if you want to save fifteen percent or more on car insurance, you switch to geico. oh ohhhhh it's what you do. ohhhhhh! do you have to do thattright in my ear? >> still seeing snowfall totals high across the south shore in

7:51 pm
well, they might just take a republican ballot because what's the point, and that could narrow the margin. >> that could definitely throw a wrench into things. you know, we have seen marty walsh here. we've seen morris healy here. we have seen local officials from massachussetts come up here. is this a test of their political machine? >> right, you want to get the dust off with another reelection bid coming up. for marty walsh this is probably the best he could do, because i don't they can it's going to be a sure thick when 'rubs for mayor again. >> thousands on the ground with the get out the vote. she's targeting yuck tells and making a person plea to sanders voters saying that she cares about they will. do you they can that it will

7:56 pm

there are those who say we cannot defeat a corrupt political system and fix a rigged economy. but i believe we need to lift our vision above the obstacles in place and look to the american horizon. to a nation where every child can not only dream of going to college, but attend one. where quality healthcare will be a birthright of every citizen. where a good job is not a wish, but a reality. where women receive equal pay and a living wage is paid to all. an america where after a lifetime of labor, there is time for rest and grandchildren. a nation that defends our people and our values, but no longer carries so much of that burden alone. i know we can create that america if we listen to our conscience and our hearts and not to the pundits
