neighbors refused to give up. our michael henrich is live in saugus with the braves review. >> reporter: we will find out how that man is doing this morning. reports are that he was talking when taken to the hospital, and the whole reason because two men reportedly went into this burning building and rescued him. the lynn daily item that these two neighbors were pushed back multiple times by heavy smoke and eventual this man who is in his 80s and brought him out to the front lawn in safety and first responders were able to take him to the hospital. it happened a little bit before 5:00 yesterday afternoon and we are still working to find out how that man is doing. the good sign is that he was talking to first responders after he was rescued the cause of this fire remains under

michael henrich, fox 25 news. new this morning a 73-year-old middleborough woman is missing. police say that lois harris was last seen leaving her home yesterday at 4:00 in the afternoon. heading to a grocery store in her gray toyota camry. harris reportedly has trouble driving in the dark and is easily confused. middleborough police are asking them with anyone with information to give them call. a sixth child has died the driver johnothony walker did not have drugs or alcohol in his system. he went off the designated route when the bus crashed into an utility pole and tree. >> looking a at the history of tally road. we ascertained that tally road was not on the designated route for that school bus. >> gene: six children are still in the hospital. they have warrants for all

they have not spoken to children involved but plan to with the help of counselors. a chaotic scene at the hannaford in waltham. police were called to the scene of a multicar crash in the parking lot of the russell street store. a woman was backing out of a parking spot and cement on going crashing into five or six cars and an employee out collecting shopping carts all on one of the busiest grocery shopping days of the year. shoppers came out to find emergency crews on >> i have seen all the ambulances on top of hannaford. cars were totally smashed. the one on top of it was hit. the person putting the carts away was actually dragged when the car came in. >> sara: the employee and driver both ended up in the hospital but neither suffered serious injuries. no word what caused the crash. a teenaged driver hit a

the 76-year-old victim was flown to the hospital with serious injury. the teenager was driving the pickup truck. we are told he is cooperating with investigators. a man was air-lifted to the hospital after a tree fell on him on ivy lane in natick. the 60-year-old has serious injuries and working to get an update on him. a prominent attorney once named one charge. gara zarella. the fourth time he faced a judge of rape. acquitted in 2009 of two rape charges and in florida the same year. like the past three cases, his attorney says this charge will not stick. >> i don't know what is motivating this young woman. i don't know if she is looking for money or for 15 minutes of fame. i don't know if she told an initial lie that spiraled out

she is lying. >> prosecutors argue that she has strict bail conditions where he was ordered not to leave the state but went to florida where he was accused again of sexual assault. he has since made bail and ordered to wear a gps monitoring bracelet. >> the driver accused of injuring four officers while running from police in dorchester is spending thanksgiving in jail. police say vincent weeks dragged two officers down the street and then hit two more with his car. he was on the run f hours before police arrested him. all four officers are recovering at home and weeks will be in court friday morning. 6:06. two boston police officers shot while responding to a call last month were honored at a charity hockey game. cintolo and morris dropped the puck. the alumni playing against the boston police department. the event was to help support

this home on fresh water road in east harwich. the fire was caused by a marijuana grow operation. take a look at what police seized, 70 marijuana plants with six pounds of packaged pot, they found a gun, ammunition and cash. more details on monday, fox25 went to local garden shops and found they have seen a jump in sales since voters approved the legalization of recreational marijuana earlier this month. we have been told that people have been asking a lot of needed to grow pot. starting next month. people 21 and older can grow up to six marijuana plants. a local boy scout troop reported that his trailer was stolen over the summer and they now have it back. the troop from norwood reported their trailer missing in august. turns out the trailer was stolen from u haul nearly 20 years ago and it eventually ended up with the troop. and u-haul repossessed the trailer without telling the boys first. u-haul has given the trailer

a turkey farm stand devastated by fire is back open for business. robert goulston went to lancaster to see how the rebuild is feeding a lot of families this thanksgiving. >> reporter: these are the turkeys that survived. >> the freshy turkey year round. >> reporter: back in june, a fire ripped through the largest barn at bob's turkey farm killing 70,000 young turkeys that just hatched. bob van hoop started the business back in the '50s. >> kind of disappointing because i built all those buildings that it had burned. >> reporter: bob told his daughter who now runs the business that closing down may be the only option with so many thanksgiving turkeys destroyed. >> reporter: did you think it was possible? >> we weren't sure what we were going to do at that point. >> reporter: people started showing up offering help which turned into a fundraiser with thousands of dollars pouring in. >> getting back together and getting things going again. so we are pretty lucky that

police lined up to honor an officer shot and killed in the line of duty. officer colin rose was patrolling a neighborhood near wayne state university on tuesday on a bike and called for backup. when they arrived they found him with a bullet wound to the head. rose died yesterday morning and honored by officers. he was the fifth officer shot in the u.s. in more than a week. a new york man is recovering after an e-cigarette exploded in his pocket. look at this. the man's pocket started sparking before it exploded. the man suffered third-degree burns. cock workers smelled the fumes

two neighbors refused to give up. the brave rescue. >> reporter: sara, gene, you can see outside of the house now that the sun is rising. some of the debris taken out of this burned-out house, the plywood out against the outer wall. the damage to the roof is evident as well. this is a difficult situation but made less difficult due to two neighbors here. two of these neighbors were pushed back by heavy smoke multiple times and would not give up knowing that a man in his 80s was stilled inside. and the item reports that those men eventually did knock in the door, carried that man out to safety. and the item reports that that man was talking and conscious when -- dealing with the first responder who eventually took him to the hospital for treatment. we are working this morning to

police cited the driver in the crash and the investigation is ongoing. a weymouth teen has been charged with manslaughter after an april crash that killed a 15 xwrorl classmate. kate mccarthy was killed last spring when 17-year-old john crawly crashed his car into a utility pole and two parked cars. he was speeding and not supposed to have other minors in his car. he is facing charges of assault and battery for injuries to another girl. and police are trying to track down the person stole thousands of dollars from the nutcracker. they are scrambling to come up with 50 costumes and headpieces weeks before the show. the stolen costumes are worth more than money. >> the number of hours decorating and putting the stones -- the stone value.

and limbs. >> when paulina came here she wasn't doing a whole lot of moving, and now we have her in a pool and she is up and walking while in a pool. she has made a lot of progress. >> reporter: paulina has down syndrome and they don't believe that affected her health or how her body reacted to afm. it starts with a common virus one many of us have been exposed to but for some reason, paul differently. >> it can cause common cold symptoms and have problems with asthma and prior outbreaks in children where it has caused this time of paralysis. >> reporter: after two months, doctors are hopeful that paulina will be able to walk again without her walker. >> she showed she can improve. no reason she won't continue to improve further.

investigating a deadly wrong-way crash on 495 overnight that happened near the spruce street overpass in plainville around 2:00 this morning. state police say a car was driving north on the southbound side between exit 13 and 14 when it struck another vehicle. the wrong-way driver was killed and the driver in the other car was taken to rhode island hospital. they are still trying to piece together what happened and why that driver was going the wrong way on the highway. looking live in saugus where a fire ravish and two neighbors were able to rescue the man inside. the daily item report that two men saw the flames and ran inside but heavy smoke forced them out four or five times. they were able to go back in to rescue a man inside. our michael henrich is on the scene and has a call into the fire department to try to figure out what caused the fire. and donald trump posted a new message calling on the country to unite during thanksgiving. the president-elect reportedly in not doing any transition business over the holidays. yesterday he announced that

lawmakers demanded answers from major automakers of how often front seat backs collapse and injury passengers. now u.s. senators ed markey and richard blooment+ hal want federal regulators to take immediate action and strengthen standards. >> the price is too high and americans families have to pay. >> daniel: according to the center of auto safety, 898 children have been killed in rear end collisions in the past 18 yea sitting the back seat. national seat strength standards have not been updated since first adopted in 1967 despite several petitions to the u.s. transportation department to boost regulations. for now, auto safety advocates recommend putting kids in the middle of the back where typically no one is seated in front of them. and our washington d.c. bureau has been call for safety
