good morning it is 4 a.m. on this friday, november 25. hope you are stuffed. i am daniel miller. >> stephanie: i am stephanie coueignoux in for julie grauert. i am stuffed. >> daniel: as you should be. >> stephanie: as you should be. a successful thanksgiving. today is black friday and if you were heading out braving the crowds, definitely want to pack an umbrella. meteorologist shiri spear in the fox25 storm tracker weather center. you are tracking fog and drizzle. throughout the day. steadiest drizzle in southern new hampshire. i have to say it is kind of sneaking under radar and find it across northern massachusetts. 35 in worcester. 40 in boston. 35 in keene, new hampshire. temperatures also just above freezing. i think we will skate by that chance of any kind of icy spots. and we have a close eye on the temps. tracking a whole lot of fog. worcester with visibility under a mile, boston, nashua, norwood getting in on the fog as well.

but best known as carol brady, mother of the brady bunch. she was taken to the hospital wednesday and her manager said she died thursday night of heart failure. henderson was surrounded by family and friends last night. she was 82. maureen mccormick that played her tv daughter marcia brady said florence was a dear friend for many years and in her heart forever she will miss her dearly. larry king said mrs. brady. america's sweetheart has died. looking for the best post thanksgiving deals in average in. bargain hunters they started early hitting the stores. by 3:00 in the afternoon. fox25's christine mccarthy was inside the packed rockingham mall in salem, new hampshire. >> reporter: 45 registers constantly ring up deals at jc

when the officers pulled him over as part of an investigation into person with a gun. those officers were hospitalized and released. this morning we are learning more of the deadly wrong-way crash in plainville. this was the scene on 495 around 2:00 yesterday morning and since the story broke, a norton man was driving north in the southbound lanes when he crashed into an oncoming car. he died at the scene. state police tell us the driver of the other car, a 21-year-old was rushed to the hospital in serious injuries. two people escaped a house fire in salem, new hampshire. it happened on hivrhill road. one of the people in the house said an outlet started burning causing a clothing rack put on fir. the man tried to put it out using a small fire extinguisher. and it spread too quickly. >> never a good time to have a holiday -- a fire during the holidays but around the

>> daniel: one person went to the hospital for smoke inhalation. a saugus man a alive thanks to his neighbors' quick thinking. he knew the man who lived there was in his 80s and would need help getting out. that's when he said he decided to kick in the door. another neighbor saw that commotion and ran to help and together they battled through the heavy smoke to save that man's life. >> i didn't have time to think about it, you know but worked out great. like i said, everybody pitched in and did what a good neighbor is supposed to do, right. >> reporter: applegate said the man was awake when they put him on the front lawn and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. an american soldier was killed in northern syria. 300 american forces are in the region helping to organize an offensive against isis. this morning the u.s. military has not released the identity

through the crowd. two people are dead and four others are hurt. this morning mary maloney say police are searching for the people responsible. >> reporter: a hail of bullets force a crowd of people to take cover. when the gunfire stops, the screaming begins. in louisville park hosted the juice bowl, an annual football tournament. kids, parents, friends and watch football, but violence interrupted the festivities. >> most people are having the time that they do. most of the time these tragic situations happen. >> reporter: a cell phone recorded more than a dozen gunshots. >> we are thankful that more people didn't get hurt in this situation report were but some of those shots were deadly. >> just to see that man shot in the head like that and they are telling him to hold on.

in the crowd mourn the lives lost. >> get off -- >> it is very tragic of what's happened here. i mean, i am saddened. >> a sad task for thanksgiving. and it is a sad day. >> reporter: i am mary maloney reporting. a california mother who vanished three weeks ago while jogging has been found alive and is reunited with her family. shiri papini was away from her hometown on a rural road in sacramento early yesterday morning. she managed to get out of the ropes she was tied in and flagged down a passing car who called police. the people who were searching for her almost can't believe this turn of events. >> it was just a rush of relief. and a lot of tears and realizing that it was over in the best possible sense.

were women. investigators believe there were more people involved in her capture. no word what happened to her during the three weeks she was missing. volunteers brought thanksgiving care packages for the families of involved in the deadly school bus crash in tennessee. six children died when their bus hit a tree and split in half earlier this week. they know the gifts won't take away the pain of loved ones but a reminder to families that arrested and facing five counts of vehicular homicide. time is 4:17. we track traffic and weather together every ten minutes. looking south of the pike right now. just a few delays on the expressway southbound, but others in that -- things are running up to speed. north of the pike, we are not going to see any delays. if you are taking 128 to the tobin bridge, it will take you 13 minutes. 19 minutes on 495 to the leverett connector.

tolls, it will take you 23 minutes. and shiri, i know you are tracking some rain. >> a little bit of drizzle out there this morning, stephanie, so we will be working hand in hand to see if it causes any delays. yesterday despite the fact it was damp, .05 inches of rain in boston and a 10th of an inch in worcester. not a lot, right. again this month running below average. we have rainfall deficit of 1.5 inches or even more between boston and worst only for another about 10th of an inch of rain, so just goes to show how light it is going to be. not helping very much with the drought situation. drought monitor for this week remaining unchanged and you can see we have an extreme drought for -- for over 40% of the state here. ref some really dry conditions and we can use a lot more rain than we have in the forecast over the next few days. 40 degrees in boston. 40 in norwood. 45 in worcester.

we will be struggling with fog this morning in particular in and around worcester. 35 degrees above freezing. the good news is, i am having a tough time to find anyone who has dropped to that freezing point. it is mostly wet and not icy roads. close eye on these temperatures here and i think after 7, 8:00, i would say that we are out of the woods with that concern. 6 a.m. in worcester, 38. 40s. upper 40s ipswich and framingham. how about 50s in plymouth down to the cape and islands in the south coast as well. we do have storm warm spots out there. unfortunately, we all have the potential of seeing rain. best bet across central mass and areas north of the mass pike. north and west of boston is where i see most of the patchy drizzle. southeastern massachusetts gets a little bit of a lull

steadier drizzle once we hit the afternoon and evening hours. overnight tonight, we should get a little bit of a break, but tomorrow tracking this ocean storm and i have to say this just updated and it updated much wetter than it was 30 minutes ago. that means we are watching a little bit of a closer track with this ocean low. this is what i was talking about yesterday, the closer it comes, the more widespread further out to sea the drier it will be. southeastern and eastern mass are the at-risk at-risk areas for seeing the saturday rain. the system is far enough north to push in some clouds but mostly dry condition. the only exception perhaps a temperature in two out there. temperatures in the 40s over the weekend. it is going to get a little cooler as we head into your sunday. seven-day forecast is always in view. 48 degrees today. drizzly, cloudy throughout the day. tomorrow a chance of rain across eastern and southeastern mass and 48
