south moving along fine. i take you out to to route 1. things are starting to pick up just slightly approaching lynn fell parkway in saugus. live drive times. 24 minutes on the pike eastbound. 19 minutes on expressway. 26 minutes on 93 south heading to the zakim bridge. back to you. new this morning, we are working to get more information about this crash in chelsea. our photographer on the scene says a car and logan express bus collid street from a 24-hour hutle stop. the car's engine caught fire and a small diesel leak from the bus and that was contained quickly. three people went to the hospital and into word on their condition this hour. the crash sunday investigation. happening today, the swampscott man involved in a crash that killed two people in a logan airport shuttle van will be arraigned in a boston court room. 27-year-old steven bierbalm is facing two charges of manslaughter.

80 miles per hour at 1:00 in the morning back on august 31 when he rear ended the hutle. investigators say bierbalm's blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit. police are searching for the driver of this horrific hit-and-run accident in brockton that left a man in extremely critical condition. >> reporter: you can see the victim crossing the street with a group of friends when he was struck by a speeding car that was all caught on surveillance outside of the bar where that h outside the bar in brockton where police have actually recovered the carjack but are still looking for the driver. >> they recovered that car on saturday night, and they tell us that the victim crossing this stretch of north main street in brockton right after leaving a bar at night. this morning his family is from cape verte and they tell the enterprise that's in completely critical condition and is now braindead. >> reporter: stunning moment

and threw a 25-year-old brockton man crossing main street. >> i need to send my prayers to this guy. it was a bad impact. you probably have seen the video. it is a bad impact. >> reporter: the victim was leaving the spot bar and lounge slightly before 1:30 as the street was busy and dark. right after it happened, the bar owner ran outside to help. >> we are a community here, and while i know i can't control everything that happens on the street, i am responsible for my patrons. >> reporter: brockton police say a man that may h towed to the police station on saturday. state police are also investigating. meantime, the bar owner says not the first time someone has hit outside his bar. he says drivers need to slow down and a security stream will now begin helping patrons across the street. >> i am in constant communication with them and we hope it guy can make it. >>reporter: once again, we know brockton police now have the car they believe will be from this accident and we continue to search for the

give them a call. live in brockton. state police released name of a man killed in a crash in dorchester yesterday morning. 57-year-old daniel lee of chatham wednesday off the expressway. two people in that car were hurt and they are expected to be okay. the cause of the crash remains under investigation. a neighborhood is on edge after a father said his children were approached on their street by a staged man. it happened saturday near baldwin leicester. the father who asked not possible to identified his 12-year-old and 7-year-old were selling popcorn for the boy scouts and the car pulled up next to the older boy. >> he was at the end of the driveway, the car comes down the road, stopped where he was, waved him over, didn't open the car door or window. waved him over and showed him a ps 4 box. . >> sara: the man then drove

20s and driving a large burgundy car with two bumper stickers on the back. a new hampshire mother remains in jail after charges related to her children. samantha greiner charged with criminal restraint. her arrest came days after her estranged husband james greiner was also arrested. the couple's young children were discovered in human waste inside ail the 4-year-old boy was even tied to the bed. before her arrest, samantha greiner told fox25 she knew her son was being retrained but couldn't do anything about it. she is due on $25,000 bail. james greiner is out on jail. the children are with their grandparents. the holiday season is off to a disappointing part when a brazen robber robbed a church and stole a sound system.

video helped police track down that suspect, catherine. >> reporter: the theft is coming to a shock of people who come to the shrine. i talked to some people come together morning prayer today. police have made an arrest in this case and those surveillance images were helpful to police. take a look. some of the images captured during the theft that occurred between 4 and 5:30 on friday morning. police say that is 33-year-old eric swanson that you see in these charged with larceny and breaking and entering at lunchtime. swanson stole a sound amplifiers, keys and for an lek tromic giving station off the wall. boston police officers were patrolling the area when they saw someone matching swanson's description and seen wearing the same clothing in the pictures. when police searched them they found several of the missing items from the shrine. one man that visited the shrine daily had h this to

back at 6 :15. president-elect donald trump moving back on the movement to recount election results. in some key states trump said we have won the popular vote if not for millions of illegal voters. trump is claiming voter fraud in three states including new hampshire. >> jason: the election drama far from over. president-elect donald trump doesn't believe that hillary clinton won the popular vote claiming that millions of people voted illegally. he made those claims with no evidence. like many of donald trump's controversies, this one started on twitter. the president-elect tweeted sunday, quote, in addition to winning the electoral college in a landslide, i won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally. trump is the president-elect despite losing the popular vote by almost 2 million votes. there has been no evidence of any kind of massive voter fraud. over the weekend in a move unprecedented by a

struck head-on. fox 25's jason law joins us with more on the call she made to 911, jason. >> jason: yeah, sara. taylor mcbarron was on her way home to barnstable when she was hit head-on. she is still in the hospital recovering, she surprised us when she considers this the best thanksgiving ever. >> i was just so happy that, you know, i didn't -- >>reporter: hard to even put into words how this crash on route 495 early thanksgiving morning could have ended. the phone from her hospital bed, she focused on how this could end. she was in this white suv headed from college in fitchburg to a home in barnstable at 2:00 in the morning on thursday after a waitressing shift when 22-year-old james keating of norton was driving the wrong way and hit taylor head on. he died at the scene. taylor never lost consciousness. >> i was still in the fast lane after the crash because that's where i ended up and

not stopping, and i didn't know if anyone else had known, so i -- i called 911. >>reporter: at the hospital, taylor learned she suffered a severely broken ankle and broken pelvis and cuts and bruises. her friends learned she was the one involved in the crash they have seen on the news. >> definitely very shocking. >> reporter: for taylor's best friend emma mcman. >> we are as close as you can possibly be as two separate people. >> reporter: very upsetting sheets up a go fund me account to pay for her bills because she won't be able to work for several months. >> i can't help you put your bones together. i can't make you feel better physically but hopefully this will make her mentally and emotionally. >> it has made things easier. >> reporter: it had allowed her to focus on her recovery. >> most of taylor's rehab and recovery will take place on the cape and because of that

her final semester. the young man killed in the crash. keating is the sixth student to die since april. the senior was a football player at the university. the investigation continues this morning why exactly he got on the wrong said of the road. in the newsroom, jason law, fox25 morning news. three young children have been taken from mare mattapan apartment after their mother was found dead inside. responded to the call on bismarck street. they thought they were responding to a home invasion but quickly found out that was not the case. officials arrived to find the door open. >> a few of the relatives haven't heard from her and they are the ones that forced the door. it wasn't a home invasion. it looks like they forced the door. they went in and found the young lady. >> kids were checked out at the hospital and they are expected to be okay. police do not suspect foul play in the woman's death. they are awaiting the results

your help finding this woman. a suspect in an assault on a dunkin' donuts. a customer ordered tea and threw the hot drink. the employee suffered serious burns in the incident. transit police are asking anyone with information to give them a call. boston police department could soon have a more effective way to fight crime. the department is considering buying new software that scans for social media threat. not everyone thinks this is a good idea. look at how the software works. >> it is kind of invading the privacy and security. >> reporter: along boylston street in boston, people are all over social media where we got their take on police possibly monitoring it more aggressively. >> if you have nothing to hide, it shouldn't be much of a problem. >> reporter: the boston police department is looking at buying technology that will help them better monitor social media for potential public safety issue like

stuff on social media that can give us some leads on some information, so i think it is important. >> reporter: the aclu of massachusetts says the bpd did not initiate any public conversations about its plan to spend $1.4 million in taxpayer money on surveillance system designed to monitor online speech and associations. the civil liberties group say it is a way for policing and departments to spend so much money and chill online freedom of speec society. the aclu will continue to follow the stories closely. the main concern, of course, is terrorism, and boston police say other criminal activity on social media that is important to them. everything ranging from gang activity to prostitution. boston police telling us the technology will be used in accordance to strict policies and procedures and from within the parameters of state and federal laws and the information looked at is only

just get some of those high, thin clouds. a little bit of filtered sunshine, maybe milky skies this afternoon and a pretty decent monday. 45 in boston. 44 in lawrence. 46 in plymouth. even upper 40s in norwood and new bedford and fitchburg. worcester a little cooler at 43 degrees and same in keene, new hampshire. weather concerns as we get into your day tomorrow. the icing concerns i am going to keep all of those across western new england, and there will be fog and heavy rain that develops as on. bursting the morning because at 9 a.m., showers arriving in worcester, possibly even boston. the temperatures are in the upper 30s to even the lower 40s. so that is out of the freezing concern zone, if you will. southwestern new hampshire, western new england. that's where temperatures might be a little stuck, and we will have to watch for a couple of icy patches. off and on rain throughout the morning hours. noontime comes along and i expect the focus of the steadiest rain to be north of the mass pike here.

at noontime. southeastern mass a little bit of a lull but showers fill in for the afternoon. 3 p.m. kids coming home from school and 50s on the map. not exactly going to be a pleasant afternoon and straight into the evening commute and dinnertime where we get the heaviest rain. we have temperatures tomorrow that are mid to even upper 50s south of boston. north of boston, a colder rain, northern mass, northern new hampshire. it will be tough to even get up to 50 degrees here tomorro up to 50 degrees here tomorrow. consider this, so far this month, boston getting one and a half inches of rain. that 1 two inches short where we hud have here. a 2-inch rainfall deficit in worcester. because we have so much rain between tuesday, wednesday and thursday, we can actually completely do away from that rainfall deficit here by the end of the month. so we are tracking those heavier showers as we get to your tuesday. again on wednesday afternoon. overnight into thursday morning.
