here, gets a little lighter out this morning. we know the victim's families -- family is here and they flew in from cape verdey and in extremely critical condition and brain dead. car hit 25-year-old brockton man as he was crossing north main street. >> i need to say my prayers. it was a bad impact. you probably seen the video. bad impact. >> jessica: leaving the and lounge 1:30 where it was busy and dark and right after the bar ran outside to help. >> we are a community here. while i know i can't control everything, that happens on the street, i'm responsible for my patrons. >> jessica: brockton police say a car that was toad on saturday and state police are also investigating. meanwhile, the bar owner says this isn't the first time someone has been hit outside his

down and security team will now help patrons cross the street. >> i'm in constant communication with him and hope the guy can make it. >> jessica: we know brockton police have the car they believe is involved in this and continue to search for the driver and asking anyone with information to give them a call. live in brockton, jessica reyes, fox25 news. >> sara: new this morning we are looking to get more information about a crash in chelsea. the photographer on scene says that a car collided at eastern avenue and bellingham street. this is down the street from 24-hour airport shuttle stop. it caught fire and small diesel leak from the bus but quickly contained. 3 peep went to the hospital and no word on conditions. the crash is under investigation. >> sara: happening today the swampscott involved in shuttle van this summer will be

facing 2 charges of manslaughter. prosecutors say he was going 80 miles per hour at 1 in the morning in august when he rear-ended the shuttle. 2 people from texas were killed in that crash. investigators say birenbaum blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit. >> gene: 7:05 this morning. neighborhood on edge after the father says children were approached on street by change man. happened near baldwin and green street in lester. the father who asked not to be identified, the 12 and popcorn for the boy scouts. that's when the car pulled up next to the older boy. >> while he was at the end of the driveway car come down the road, stopped where he was, waved him over, didn't open the car door, didn't open window but waved him over, showed him ps4 box. >> gene: father says man drove away and suspect believed to be in his 20s, thought to be driving a large burgundy colored car with 2 red bumper stickers

animal abuse case earlier this year. nearly 1400 animals were found living in squalor on tenant farm in july. state official have already revoked the animal inspection duties for the 2 workers because of allegations that the pair didn't properly inspect the farm in the months before the conditions were discovered. >> federal regulators begin the inspection of the pilgrim nuclear power plant in plymouth. team of 20 people will conduct a 3-week review of the pilgrim safety rating downgrade last year and what steps the owners must take before they close that plant in 2019. >> also happening today ashland the first community to try to delay the opening of recreational marijuana stores in the state. town will meet tonight to discuss a temporary moratorium. if approved shops wouldn't open until the town has more time to study and plan for the new recreational laws.

in the newsroom, jason law, fox25 news. >> sara: now appears that lowell mom that was killed in front of her son died after getting run over by a car. the lowell sun reports the initial autopsy on gloribel orengo shows she likely died of ruptured aorta, likely from a car. she died over a week ago when she was at a party. woman admitted to hitting orengo in the head before police say that car may have been involved in high-speed chase that night. woman was arrested and charged with assault and battery and looking for the suspect that was driving the car. >> sara: investigators say 50-year-old daniel lee of chatham plunged off the expressway and hit suv on morrissey boulevard. 2 people in the car were hurt but are expected to be okay. the cause of the crash remains

3 young children have been taken from their mattapan after mother found dead after a call on bismark street. at first they thought they were dealing with home invasion because apartment door had been forced open. >> they are the ones that forced the door so it wasn't a home invasion. looks like they forced the door and went in and found the youn lady. >> gene: kids checked out in the hospital and they are not suspecting foul play and they are waiting for the results of autopsy. new hampshire mother remains in jail after being arraigned felony and misdemeanor charge related to her children's well-being. samantha grenier arrest came

grenier was also arrested. 4-year-old boy was tied to a bed. before her arrest samantha grenier said she knew her son was being restrained but couldn't do anything about it. samantha grenier due back in court a week from today. james grenier in jail. damage at about $350,000 hardware 5 people now out of the home and fortunately no 1 was hurt. things are back to normal on the pike this morning after crews shut down 2 lanes to fiery crash. this was in the westbound lanes in grafton. around 4:00 yesterday afternoon right in the middle of the holiday rush. state police tell us that no 1 was hurt and only 1 car was involved but backed up traffic
